Authentic Cantonese dim sum! I visit here during the pandemic. I called and placed my order and pick them up in the supermarket. They restaurant is closed only the supermarket is opening. The kitchen is connected to the supermarket tho. I am a Cantonese, I absolutely enjoyed my dim sum. I am happy that I found this place! I will come back again whenever I visit this city again. I would definitely recommend it to others! (The food is great, I especially like Pork ribs, Tofu skin roll, rice roll, and chicken feet)

Authentic Chinese. Not your normal china buffet. English second language. Food served in bowls off the cart and meant to be shared. Very different cuisine and kinda intimidating on our first visit. If you're coming for your first meal, be prepared to go out of your comfort zone. But we will be back.

Came here twice. In the summer of 2016 my friend and I got food poisoning from the dim sum (we think the pork dumplings). My recent visit was better. The dim sum was good, we enjoyed the fried squid, shrimp dumplings, trite, and sesame rolls. Attached to the restaurant is a Chinese supermarket.

Speak from a Chinese myself, if you want to try authentic Chinese food, come here! Food here unlike most Chinese food I have tried in the states which are Americanized and very salty. A Chinese grocery shop is next to the restaurant. Also the decoration of the place is kind of outdated, and dimly lit, the waitress was friendly.

Canton House has been my go to place for dim sum and authentic Chinese dishes. However, we went there this Sunday for dim sum and it was horrible. Don’t get me wrong, the food is still great. However, the service and the way they serve it is horrible. I had dim sum pretty much around the world and really appreciates the way they serve the food on the hot push carts. It was nice to sit down and chat and enjoy the food as they move around on these push carts. Never know what is available but always anticipate for the next dish. Also if I want something special I could order it with the waitress. This Sunday was when they changed everything. Now we have to get the food ourselves like high school cafeteria. Also they are using plastic plates. Seriously what are we, high school students? I am giving this review not to bash the restaurant, but in hope that the owner will read this and bring back the real plates and push carts. We are there for the food, but also for the traditional way of serving dim sum. If you are going to treat your customers like high school students, then there is no reason for me to go there anymore. This really sucks since I go there for dinner and also shop there almost every week. Update..... Finally went back for dinner 2/15/2019. Food was awesome as usual. So glad the owner brought back the real plates. I was also told that the push carts are back for dim sum. Can’t wait to get some dim sum. Thanks for bring back the real plates and the push cart.

My family has been a customer of theirs for over 10 years now, and their amazing food had kept us coming back. Their dim sum is the best we've ever had, anywhere, including New York City's and Sacramento's Chinatown. Authentic Cantonese food done amazingly well. Seriously, try the dim sum, but get there at 11 AM for it, the place fills up FAST.

The Dim Sum is on par with what you will find in most major cities Chinatown. I have been going to this restaurant here and at their old location for 10 years and I can make a pretty good comparison. The food is as good, the atmosphere isn't, but, the quality of the food and service make up for that. My wife is from Shanghai, and she and her father like this place especially. So do I. We would have to go to Toronto or NYC for an equal level of Dim Sum or traditional Chinese food selection. This isn't Americanized food. They have dishes that are traditional to Shanghai and Southern China that are not typically in Chinese Restaurants in our area. I will take the spartan atmosphere for the food selection and quality, and the lightening fast service. A weekend favorite.

The entranceway is really misleading, they seem to use it as a storage room and that really takes away from the ambiance. The restaurant itself is fine, comfortable lighting. The dim sum was fantastic, as were the pork buns and scallion pancakes. I will definitely be getting food from Canton House again.

Phenomenal place! I go here every time I'm back in town and it never disappoints. Salt and peppered squid and sesame chicken are out of this world. I live in Colorado and of the minimum 15 places for Chinese I've tried, they've been disgusting and are not tolerable to eat. Take advantage of places around here and get your Chinese from these folks.....you won't be disappointed.

3.5 stars. I've been here several times. It's pretty much luck. You get there at the right time, you'll have the pick of all the dim sum. You get there too early or late, you're out of choices. I'm picky about have intestines, ears, tongues, etc., so I tend to have to wait for the right dim sum. What I absolutely love is their chilli sauce! I've bought containers of it to use for cooking at home. In any case, this is my favorite dim sum place in Rochester.
