Just. Go. Some seriously impressive baked goods and great people. I had to go twice in three days and still can't stop thinking about it. One of the most perfect croissants I have ever eaten and I have waited in line for over an hour for bakeries in New York... this is not an easy accomplishment! I keep nearly eating myself to death and everything has been fantastic. Unbelievably good and deserves a line out the door!

Ok, Calling all you foodies out here in Rockford and from everywhere, please listen very carefully, ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL PASTRIES!!!!!! SWEET AND SAVORY TOO! JUST AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING!!! If you haven't tried Banana Cherry Bakery yet, you are so missing out! We went for the first time today and almost bought one of everything. The buttery, flaky layers of the laminated dough on the pastries and the fillings, I'm telling you to get in your car and go now! They are huge. I can't believe that we never stopped in here and tried them up until now. We just drove by and didn't know that this was a complete gem of a bakery here in our hometown. They are open only for now, on Thursday's, Friday's and Saturday's. So buy extras for the rest of the week. Lol. Don't forget the fresh baked bread too. You will have to go in and get a cronut to find out what it is. I'm going to keep that one a secret. They have morning buns, cinnamon rolls, scones, pain au chocolate, muffins, almond cream filled chocolate chip pastries, english meat pies and sausage rolls too. Omg, so much to mention. Just get there fast. They have homemade southern buttermilk biscuits and melt in your mouth, creamy gravy with big chunks of sausage on Saturday's only that is to die for! Banana Cherry like many Rockford establishments does itself no favors by having such an inane name. Despite the horrible name, BC is a fantastic English bakery. Their meat pies are exquisite. With flaky dough wrapped around scrumptious spinach or sausage filling. They have any number of.very high quality pastries too. And then you get to the real reason that I'm writing this blurb ..... they bake something they call a 'cronut' . It is a donut made with flaky puff pastry that is baked in righteous layers that you can easily pull apart to essentially disect as you eat it. It's like heaven on earth. And worth the price. Show up early in the day or they'll be sold out (they sell out every day). If the place had a half decent name and corresponding exterior facade they could easily triple their business. Something like "Old English Bakery" would do it or how about "Cromwell Bakery and Goods " or even "Wellington Bakery Goods" would suit the place better. Go there and happily fatten up.

Most delicious, creative bakery we've ever had the joy & delight to experience. The danishes--in multiple flavors--burst with flavor and the cinnamon rolls melt in one's mouth!
