Clan strips, New England clam chowder soup and crab cakes are my favorites! The French fries are distinct in flavor, delicious! The staff is very friendly. I wrapped up the crab cakes and our waiter offered extra sauce to take home. 5 stars!

The food was above all my expectations! Had the clams with the belly which were absolutely delicious the I also had the seafood bisque that was incredible I can’t describe how creamy the New England clam chowder was, since it was my first time there they gave me a free sample of it! All I can say is they ruined seafood for me because no other places has compared to how delicious their food is. And finally the staff, what a wonderful crew they are! So nice and attentive! Thank you for a wonderful experience I can’t wait to go back!!!

The food was delicious! Best fried Ipswich clams. The New England clam chowder was chock full of clams and potatoes. So good. Best of all was the warm and welcoming service. It was worth the drive from Stony Brook to Rockville Centre! The owner, Anthony, was so nice!

This place is amazing! Barely changed since 1939, the atmosphere is extremely authentic. The guys behind the counter are super-friendly. And the food is really, really good and you get a lot of it. One of my favorites!

I have been coming here since the early 60’s, my grandparents started coming here in the 40’s and passed this gem of a place down to our whole family. I am happy to know it is the same as memories hold true. A true best find! I would emphatically endorse and highly recommended.

Bigelow’s does it right. Reminds me of the places back home that are the best quality family restaurants. If you do it right, don’t change anything.

A hidden gem 💎 in Rockville Center. Great fresh seafood 🦞. Lite Batter on all fried items. Not a heavy oil taste. Nice staff. Credit Cards 💳 accepted. Plenty of locals dine here. We will definitely be going back.

We haven't been to Bigelow's New England Fried Clams in a while and decided to stop in today. A few things have changed since we were here last. Two positive things they implemented are the expanded permanent outdoor dining area, and they now take credit, which we didn't know. It's either credit or digital wallets now. We had the Lobster rolls, hot and cold. And calamari to start. Both were done nicely with no complaints. They have an attentive and friendly staff to boot. Hope to visit again soon.

Best clam chowder! Spot on lobster roll 🦞 Prices have gone up over the years like everything else. Perennial quality and charm remain worth every penny! Old timey counter service still closed; might come back in the future. Don’t miss some of the best seafood on the Island!

Been coming here for years. This is a staple of the neighborhood for great fried seafood. I love the New England clam chowder here it's amongst the best that you'll find anywhere. Good things to try are the fish and chips, the fried Ipswich clams and fried oysters. All very good all very fresh and all cooked to order. They have since expanded to the exterior wood for additional seating. This is great because it allows more people and less of a wait. The staff are amazingly attentive quick to serve and very polite. They now accept credit cards so that's a great plus. Always a worth while trip. The only thing that stops me from going more often is the fact that it's all fried, but oh... it tastes so good.

Bigelow's has been here on Long Island for a long time. And there's a reason which I, and based on my visit today, many others still appreciate. It's one of the rare restaurants around where there are NO compromises in quality. And when you're selling cooked seafood, that's hard to pull off. Once one of the east coast's greatest sources of shellfish in the country, Long Island has not been able to maintain that status for many reasons, especially as a consistent source for the famous soft shell clams. I am glad that Bigelow's is thriving and able to source the best of this dwindling resource. I've had "Ipswich" fried clams in all the northern coastal states and Vermont and these are some of if not THE best! p.s. you can now use a CC. Bring it.

My wife and I just ate here for the first time. We had the fried clam strips (of course), the onion rings and the calamari. Everything was super fresh, and though fried nothing was greasy. Big portions and excellent service. We'll definitely be back!! Also, though there is only indoor seating, all the windows are wide open and plenty of ventilation, so we fealt very safe eating indoors.

I am a fried fish fanatic. As such I have high standards. This place is excellent. The fish is fresh and breaded lightly with a flour based covering not beer batter which I dislike. So the fish is nice and flaky and the sweet flavor comes through. They have hand made fries which are also excellent. I started off with the NE Clam Chowder, you guessed it, excellent. This place is in my top three favorite fried fish establishments. There are many other sea food items in the menu. Although didn't try the clam dishes look wonderful also. Highly impressed.

Everything is delicious, I think they have some of the best sea food on LI. There are two negatives in my opinion. 1. The food is very pricey in my opinion and two you are on top of the road. In the summer when they have it open and cars are stopped at the red light, sometimes you can smell them and definitely hear them on top of you.

I had read about this place in a few different places and have been meaning to check out a place renown for its fried offerings. I came with my son and since the portions are large, we could only try a few things. We ordered the New England Clam Chowder, the fried clam strips, fried oysters (more for my son), and the onion rings. First, we ordered a cup and it must be a large serving since they generously offered to split it for us and we ended up with a good sized portion cup each! The soup was thick and hearty and chock full of clam meat and potatoes. The clams and oysters were perfectly fried with just enough breading to balance against the meat. But if we’re being honest, the onion rings were simply amazing. My son is particular about food and he was talking about the o-rings for days afterwards. The onions were crispy as well as the crispy breading. And for all the frying - nothing was oily. Amazing! The service was good and there appeared to be rigorous cleaning of tables as people left. Yes, the decor is … cozy but, hey, it’s a fried food shack. Yes, it’s a bit pricy for what it is, but as a guilty treat, wonderful.

Incredible service! Served by several staffers and all busted their butt to take care of me. My drink was never more than a third bellow full. Condiments topped off. Food brought quickly. Had a spill and they cleaned up, brought more napkins and silverware. Very friendly and engaging. Felt like I was at Cheers... Everyone knew your name, except for me as I'm not local. Drinks and food came out super quick. Pay in person or visa their website or an app using a QR code. Ordered the Ipswich fried clam bellies with Cole slaw. The quality was no different than my favorite new England clam shacks. They lived up to their name! Cole slaw was good and not overly sweet. I'll get the salad next time. Need to balance out the food with something healthy. Place is small with maybe a dozen tables? Likely less. Dine in with covered outdoor area with screens. Plenty of ventilation. Inside is for takeout and bathrooms. It's a clam shack folks! Parking lot is small, but will accommodate seating. It's free, but a bit tight. Wait can be ten to thirty minutes at peak. Think twice about large parties unless off peak. I was seated in minutes at the last table.

It is clear why this restaurant has kept its doors open since 1939. The heartfelt hospitality is nothing short of top notch. When the owner of the restaurant is paying as much attention to detail as removing a straw wrapper from a table you found a place to frequent often. Great food, great hospitality and charity work to boot. That is a winning recipe that should be in every restaurants cook book. Thank you for a great family dinner!!

My 5-Star rating is based on taste and freshness of the food, cleanliness of the restaurant, and above average staff/service. I've driven by Bigelow's quite a few times and decided to make a stop for some fresh seafood. I am huge on customer service and staff are extremely friendly, which made it even more enjoyable. Thanks Anthony! I felt like family. I ordered the grilled salmon sandwich with lettuce, tomato and grilled onions with a side of cole slaw. It was a nice portion of fresh fish, beautifully grilled and juicy. Cole slaw was okay, but it was all about the seafood for me. Definitely coming back for more. The only thing I would do different is dine-in, instead of takeout. I had a long drive home!
