Quaint Tex-Mex restaurant that has affordable prices but my biggest complaint is that their salsa and dishes needed more spice. Their enchilada plates had good portions, and they were kind enough to make substitutions. Please note that they have different lunch and dinner menus. I liked that they provide free chips and salsa, the interior of the restaurant is cozy and well-decorated, and all the servers were incredibly kind!

Vegan review: visited early evening on Saturday. So far I have had the spinach enchilada ⭐⭐⭐with no cheese or sourcream, white rice and black beans (Mexican rice and refried beans not vegan) The classic guacamole ⭐⭐⭐⭐🥑 with everything that comes with it. Fried yucca ⭐⭐ was very soft like mashed potatoes with the stickiness of sushi rice, personality not a fan. The unsweetened ice tea⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ is delicious, not over steeped and not bitter at all ❤️ The chips are thin and crisp⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, and the salsa⭐⭐⭐ is mild and served warm (not room temp). Our server was Alex⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and he was great. When I asked for no cheese in my spinach enchilada he asked about the sourcream and the Mexican rice and refried beans ❤️ he knows what has dairy 👍 all the staff were attentive and kept our beverages filled and offered more chips. Keep in mind it was early evening on a Saturday so they weren't crowded yet so I can't speak for what they are like when they are busy. I will definitely come again to try other vegetarian items I can veganize. P.S. They also label what is vegetarian with a pink leaf.

This is a nice place for Mexican food in the area. The restaurant atmosphere is very festive and welcoming. There is plenty of seating and is good for large groups as well. The have a tortilla making station right at the entrance 😊 The service was prompt and friendly as well. They have a decent selection of food items to pick from. We have been here a few times and have liked all the dishes were have ordered. Their kids menu is decent as well. Our favorites are the fajitas, chimichanga, and seafood dishes my kids likes the chicken fingers. Desserts are good here are well. We like the Tres Leches cake, Sopaipillas, Flan. A great option for Mexican food in the area.

Huge portions, affordable prices, and family-friendly atmosphere. Could easily share most of the entrees. There’s also pleasant outdoor seating. The fajitas is a standout menu item, along with the house made quac. I expected more from the margarita though, it was weak.

Happy to update. I've been coming to this restaurant since they've opened i believe 2006, they have excellent food and great staff. I like they have whole fish entrees available. Happy they had red snapper today. I recommend to everyone to try the restaurant!

Good atmosphere, very polite staff and clean space. Waited about half an hour for our food. The chips are very thin and crispy, on the house. Salsa is quite watery but tastes good. I recommended the enchiladas, they're easier to eat than the fajitas. The chicken poblano is sweet so if you've never had sweet sauce with chicken, be aware of that. Flour tortillas are very soft and stretchy, also fresh. Lots of food per plate ordered. I am sensitive to smells and I noticed that my clothes strongly smelled like oil after we left.

Friends took me here. They knew the staff, so we had great service. The food was good, but not great, the prices a little steep. We had the chicken empanadas and chorizo con queso as appetizers. The empanadas were a little greasy, but the dipping sauce was excellent. The chorizo just tasted like smoked sausage, didn't have an authentic chorizo flavor. I got the steak fajitas as my entree. Unfortunately the steak was pretty tough and the veggies were overcooked. Still, the flavor was good. I would return again, maybe try the tableside guacamole next time.

Great food, great service, great people, great place. I could give 100 stars to this restaurant if possible. Food taste is the best one, prices are phenomenal cheap for the taste of this fantastic food. Servers are very courteous, food was served on time and also they have a very delicious tres leches dessert!

An active duty military officer friend and I went to this Tex-Mex restaurant on Veterans Day "actual" Saturday night 11/11...only complaint is the restaurant offered no discount for veterans, of which there were quite a few wearing their respective, casual military branch hats, my friend included. Parking was easy and nearby in this shopping center parking lot. Inside I overheard that this restaurant is affiliated with Guapo's in Gaithersburg; there's one in Bethesda too...great food and ambiance, just like Villa Maya. Although the restaurant was packed full, we were seated immediately, the food was scrumptious and plentiful, my frozen strawberry margarita was delicious with a very generous amount of liquor, and the fried enchilada cheesecake dessert with a bowl of vanilla ice cream topped with strawberry sauce and adjacent chocolate sauce plate design was crazy good...ordered a plate for 2. The nacho chips and salsa were also great, but you can't just eat one, as the saying goes. Service was right on top of things: checking back several times, refilling non-alcoholic drinks as needed without having to be asked first, and clearing dirty dishes and utensils quickly. And, the atmosphere is very warm and festive with amber and other colors and decor of Mexico. Muy excelente...but I should have taken home a doggie bag instead of eating every last molecule on all my plates; I was full and very content, but because everything was so darn good, I didn't leave any for leftovers!! Hope to return there soon.

Traditional tile floors and colors in the dining rooms, the tables and chairs needed repairs. The service was _excellent_ our waiters had perfect rhythm and were very attentive. The pre-lunch chips were OK, salsa was not spicy at all, I wished for a spicy green type. Enchalada and barria tacos were fantastic, a home run. Rice and beans were not hot when they arrived, the only flaw from the kitchen.

Great, authentic Mexican food with great service! Attentive waitstaff, a thorough menu, and cute atmospheric decor. Salsa is soooo good! Sharing meals (excluding appetizers) incurs an additional $2.95 fee, but the food is so good, I'd highly recommend getting your own plate! I got the combo 3 dinner plate (chicken, pork, and shredded beef).
