Pleasantly surprised. The food came fairly quick, and the portions were a good size. The fish was fresh, and the flavor combos in the sushi rolls were delicious. The spicy tuna roll was excellently spicy. Highly recommend.

I genuinely hated Sushi before Niwano Hana. I can’t even eat Sushi from elsewhere now. Absolutely love. Try the Black & Red (Absolute favorite), OceanWave, & Alligator Roll. Top faves.
This place is a small but cozy restaurant. the sushi is great! I definitely recommend the spicy scallop rolls. The staff is great and we're very quick to assist us with anything.
The food and the ambiance was great. We ordered Shrimp teriyaki, salmon and chicken teriyaki, vegetable tempura, sashimi and sushi. The food came out really fast. The only complain I have is that the chicken was overcooked and tasted bad. Other than that, all the food was great. The server was nice as well. We ordered the fried banana with ice cream for dessert and it was really 👌 😋. Definitely a good spot for Japanese food.
I like the atmosphere of the restaurant. It is very cozy and small. The food is very delicious, especially the miso soup. The bento box had an assortment of food and flavors. The salmon was very flavorful, paired with the soy sauce. The shrimp tempura was very crunchy and it is very savory dipped in the soy sauce. I recommend trying this restaurant out.
Great staff ,great atmosphere. Small little place to enjoy freshly made sushi and a variety of other items. The baked spicy mussels are great! Will be back!

Sushi rolls were delicious! Tried the yellowtail cheek appetizer, it was excellent! Moist and meaty grilled fish was the best I've had! Staff are accommodating, gracious and efficient!
Really nice and well priced sushi. All the pieces were soft, clean, and well sized. Is it the best on Rockville Pike? Maybe. We especially liked the consistency of the sushi rice. Make sure to book a reservation on busy evenings or be prepared to wait an hour
One of my favorite Japanese restaurants for lunch. The sushi and sashimi are fresh and cut well. Service is quick, the hot food is served hot. Highly recommended
Great quality. Very fresh. Friendly service. Clean atmosphere. Overall a great experience. And the food was very good. I had never had fried (tempura) pumpkin or yams but it really good. The salmon was great very light not drenched in sauce because I try not consume a lot of soy due to its ties with estrogen receptors. The fresh fruit was a different take also. I always ordered sushi, sashimi and rolls platters to go from Niwano Hana. I love the rolls and sushi are very fresh and tasty. There are many varieties dish I will go back to try them. Outstanding place.

This is hands down the best sushi restaurant in Montgomery County, our go-to location for date nights!! Been coming here for more than 17 years and much of the sushi/cook stuff is the same, so that explains the quality and consistency. They must treat their employees well, too!
