each dish was presented beautifully and tasted delicious. I could taste various flavors and textures in each dish which I loved, and it was overall an amazing experience. I would definitely go again with my family. I highly recommend coming here for an authentic japanese sushi experience!

I love the sushi in this place. The quality and taste have been consistent. There is a good ambience, and they have a friendly staff. The only hiccup has been the waiting time to be served. Having been there on a busy and a slow night, we founded ourselves wondering if our server knew that we were there. Nevertheless, they ended up doing a good job.
My wife started with the Ginger Pear Martini, which she LOVED. Not too sweet, just perfect. I had the Sapporo 22 oz can and we shared a large hot sake (perfect for a cold spring evening). For dinner I had the sashimi platter ($26) with a side salad. Good value, lots of meat- octopus, salmon, yellow tail, scallops, etc. My wife had the Twilight roll, yum. Great sushi spot in Rockville town square. Definitely coming back soon.

One of the classic & fine Japanese restaurants in MD! Highly, highly recommended. I've lived in Japan and have very high standards toward Japanese cuisine. A chef in Sushi Damo is actually from Japan, and his dining style and food qualities are just spot on. Any type of appetizers, entrees, rolls, and even desserts have not betrayed my expectations until now. My personal recommendations are: agedashi tofu, calamari, beef teri, nabeyake udon, every Damo creation rolls, and... I actually forgot the name of the dessert but I personally love the brownie with hot melted bananas + ice cream. Hope everyone enjoys this high quality Japanese cuisine as much as I did!
I've been here numerous times and really like their food like their speciality rolls. The atmosphere is very relaxing as well. If you do a yelp checkin you can also get a free appetizer (I like their seabass)
The bar is still closed after everything is lifted. The Maryland crab sushi roll is still on point. New staff and the ambience is different.
I have been going to sushi damo since I was a teenager. It was definitely a high standard for me at the time. The resturant focuses on more of a classic look then a Japanese felling. I have ordered almost everything on the menu and there was not one thing I didn’t like. I enjoy the service. The thing that makes you pause is the price which is more expensive then a standard sushi place. So I definitely visit Damo every few months.
Who doesn’t love candy cane ? Or a candy cane Martini 🍸 I really recommend you this one :)
Also this was my second time there , and honestly sushi is always fresh here , we stayed at the bar area where you can actually see the whole process of making your sushi 🍣
Love the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, with the added benefit of great food. The sushi is fresh and they have there own house saki.

The food was excellent and at a decent price! The waitress was friendly and attentive about keeping our drinks filled. Highly recommend for lunch or finner!
STILL no bar service, c'mon those restrictions have been lifted. Lovely interior, nice soft lights, calm and soothing interior. Staff is very pleasant and GOOD sushi!
