This is one of the best Chinese restaurants around this area. We have been here several times and always come in here when we are super hungry. One of the best thing about them is that they are very quick even if they are busy. The food is delicious all the time. The service is good. I definitely recommend this Chinese restaurant as it is one of my favorite.

Time: Friday around 6:30 pm Seated: towards the back end of the restaurant. As other reviews mentioned, the back end of the restaurant is a bit disorganized, but we don’t really mind. But the main issue with that seating is that it’s really hard to get the servers attention. We waited a while with our hands in the air whenever we needed something. Food: they were great! Hence the four star. Taste is authentic, and the portion is big. I mean BIG. It’s actually family size and I highly recommend you bring a friend or two to share the food. We usually order a lot more, so we can try different dishes and get the leftovers for the next day. Price: honest pricing. Compare with the taste and the portion, they have very good pricing.

Very decent Sichuan dishes. We ordered and really enjoyed the ones shown in photos. Well prepared and best value in town. The Tofu and Sichuan Chicken were fair.

Loooove Jin River. Our friend group visits at least once a month. Recommend: - Shredded Pork in Garlic Sauce - Flounder and vegetables in fiery soup - Chongqin Chicken with Dry Pepper - Mapo Tofu - Cumin Chicken - Ya-Cai Stir Fried String Beans - Combination Lo Mein We love dinning in because their portion is generous. It’s not a fancy restaurant but the food is DELICIOUS. Highly recommend for folks who are into spicy Chinese food.

Just when I thought sichuan numbing spicy food was growing out of style and getting pushed out by the all-too-convenient gimmicky restaurants serving processed food disguised with natural ingredients, I am introduced to this diamond-in-the-rough restaurant called Sichuan Jin River. I truly mean diamond-in-the-rough because one wouldn't know there would be a restaurant here unless you look hard for this one story place nestled among multi-story apartment buildings. What's more amusing is that Jin River's sichuan food taste like they are on another level compared to Peter Chang's tourist-driven (aka dissappointing and soul-crushing) sichuan food served right across the street. Unlike any other sichuan restaurants I've reviewed over the past 6 years, the entrees here sport quite a bit of exquisite "wok-hay". The main reason for my 5-star rating is that I actually found an entree to add to my "death-row meal" list which is a coveted list to make if I might say so myself. My new all-time fav Sichuan entree is the 'sichuan dry-fried salt pepper intestines with peppers' - and I cannot find any other Chinese restaurants that serve this unless you drive all the way to NE DC. I'm quite relieved to see Jin River a covid19 survivor as I would have never discovered a new death-row meal hiding in the middle of Rockville. And I couldn't be more enthused when I see the clientele packing in and eating all the other entrees that I started to crave as our table finished our meals. I've been to Jin River a long time ago and it's obvious I just ordered the wrong items - am told the rule of thumb here is to talk to the staff or owner and tell them what kind of food you like and they'll order it for you. So if you decide to visit Jin River, please see my previous sentence to aid your sichuan food journey.

I’ve only come a few times for the general Tsos but it’s fantastic. Chunks of chicken breast, flavorful and it seems they make sure their ingredients and veggies are fresh. One of my favs.

Food is always great here... I love the deep fried hot pepper tofu it's like an addiction. Each dish is enough for 2 meals, so the price is reasonable considering the portion. A decent amount of vegetarian dishes that aren't just steam mix vegetables.

Food is very authentic Chinese. Coming from a Chinese person. The spicy chicken salad is what authentic Szechuan taste like. Sizzling beef was perfectly cooked too.

Highly recommend this gem in the middle of Rockville with plenty of parking and easy access for handicapped. A little bit of a discount for cash and the staff is very attentive. Huge menu and amazing flavors. I had the happy jelly 開心涼粉 and I really liked it plus the Chengdu Chicken. The rice is perfect. Just over $20.

Was able to dine in here this time around. Still really good. They know numbing if you ask for it! The vegetable fried rice is also really good. The star dish was the cauliflower dry hot where I asked for da ma. It did not disappoint. I also got the General Guan's cumin chicken and the deep fried tofu with hot pepper. These were just okay, but not bad. Definitely will be back again when in the area.

Very authentic Sichuan food free parking available and super affordable. One if very rare Authentic Sichuan food. From the Sichuan peppercorn taste to Sichuan sauce in every foods Fish in Sichuan sauce is one of the best in this area. Beware though, they do not cater regular American tounge, if you not familiar with Sichuan food, the food are very spicy and the sauce will stain your shirts. Don't expect Michelin star restaurant here. Do expect great spicy food and affordable price.

Maybe my favorite Chinese restaurant in the DMV? Lots of delicious veggie options. The eggplant was not too oily which is hard to find. Pea shoots were a favorite! Good value too ($35 per person with 20% tip and three meals of leftovers)

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the area. Have ordered here many times, both dine in and takeout. I cannot say that any dish in particular stands out above the others but the Sichuan dishes are all very good and I have found I have always gotten my money's worth on whatever I ordered. Great taste and portions for the price!

We really enjoyed our lunch here, we found the staff to be very helpful. They had my wife's favorite vegetable, Ong Choy, (Rau Muong). We bought a large amount of food for two people with the expectation of taking most of it home to eat during the week.

Best Sichuan in the area. Delivery available. Fish dishes are great and a wide selection of Sichuan specialities that are hard to find elsewhere (e.g. various intestine-based dishes)
