Visited this dim sum place after a long time, and the renovated ambiance is fantastic. Easy parking and good service. The only downside was the durian pastry; it felt like it just came out of the fridge, not very fresh. Unfortunately, had an upset stomach afterward…。😂

We went for dim sum on a Sunday and were enthusiastically greeted by the host/owner who led us to a cozy booth in a gorgeous, clean dining room. Dim sum was warm and tasted fresh. Siu mai was a highlight and tasted excellent - juicy with a nice porky, mushroomy flavor. Other great dishes were the spare ribs, fried shrimp & crab balls, shrimp spring rolls, and more. Definitely arrive close to opening time (10:30am on Sunday) because it filled up fast. Cart dim sum is available on weekends, the rest of the week (Wed-Fri, closed Mon-Tues according to a sign on the door), no cart service but you can still order dim sum. Overall great service and food. Will be back.

After work this evening my colleague brought me to this hidden gem that may be seemingly unassuming from outside, but as soon as I walked in, I was immediately blown away by the elegant decor and homey ambience infused by the friendly staff at the same time. We arrived early just before 5pm. They even agreed to our dim sum request during dinner service and those Shrimp Hacao tasted as beautifully as they looked. As recommended by server, “Shrimp Mandarin” served in mildly spicy and sweet tomato sauce was absolutely delicious with its distinctive “wok flavor” and a perfect match with rice. Braised pan-fried silken tofu (don’t know the exact name of dish as it was ordered off-menu) was nicely executed for the balanced texture of silken tofu blanketed with thin, crispy outer layer which also served to coat the tofu with brown sauce. Last but not the least—the exquisite Durian Roll/pastry is a must try—someone who is not a fan of durian and yet has found this to be divine! The quality of food and service of this dinning experience was no doubt without reservation. I look forward to returning there soon during weekend Dim Sum hours!

It’s one of our go to dim sum restaurants in DMV and had chance to visit after the renovation. The service was lacking and it was hard get hold of our server. Only one of the cart lady was helpful. While hot dim sum dishes were good, most of dishes we got served was lukewarm/cold. I’m not sure whether it’s waiting over 30 mins (Sat noon) is worthy or not but it was disappointing. BTW it’s not as good as before the pandemic. 😕

The best and most beautiful Chinese restaurant in the DMV is BACK ... and BETTER than ever! After a 3-year hiatus due to the pandemic and a pipe bursting, the Far East has made a triumphant return (they continued to do carryout while the dining room was closed), with lovely remodeling and the same superb food. Not to mention the best Mai Tai's in town! You really can't go wrong with the extensive menu, but our longtime favorites remain: Pan Fried Dumplings, Kang Pao Chicken, Onion Beef, Pork Chow Foon and, of course, Peking Duck. The oft-praised Peter Chang is less than 5 minutes from our home, yet we will always rather drive the 20 minutes to get our fix from the Far East! Can't recommend highly enough -- it will become your "go to" ...

One of the best dim sum places in the DMV. It gets quite busy in the weekend during lunchtime, so either arrive early or be prepared to wait. The parking lot is also quite limited in spaces. The food quality was good, and each dish we had was flavorful and felt freshly prepared (unlike Han palace in Tysons which felt like it had frozen food)

I was excited to visit Far East's newly opened dining room for weekday dimsum and had a wonderful experience! The dining room looks really wonderful. Our server was so lovely and very attentive. We ordered the shrimp rolls, shumai, and steamed spare ribs with black bean sauce. Everything was very fresh and tasted great. By the time we left at 12:30 PM, the restaurant was getting notably filled. One note is that our table was slightly sticky, not sure if it was moisture in the air, but may have been helpful for all the tables to have the white tablecloths. But still didn't detract from our overall experience!

We went in for dim sum on a Sunday afternoon. There was a line but we were seated quickly. They have cart service which I really like! I've been to several dim sum spots that don't do the cart service which really takes away from the experience. Plus, I like to see and pick what I'd like to eat since I don't know all the Chinese dish names. Service was a bit off and on but not bad. The food was very good so we'll definitely be back. We had the BBQ pork buns, spare ribs in black bean sauce, shrimp dumplings, rice noodle with shrimp, egg tarts, stuff sticky rice in lotus leaves, sweet sesame balls, and the beef chow fun. Everything was delicious! Definitely worth a try if you're looking for dim sum. The restaurant front is... I'm not sure how to describe it but it's not very restaurant like. It kind of looks like an office building. I drove right past it even though the name of the restaurant is right up top in bright red letters. On the weekends, there is additional parking in the adjoining bank parking lot which is nice.

The best chinese in N. Bethesda. Only one I've found that makes crispy chicken as it should be. Does vary in heat someday, but always delicious and ample portion. They also have great egg drop soup too.

Good food. A bit pricey but worth it. Their Cantonese beef is worth trying. Very tender.

This is a take out experience. First time ordering from here and they are take out only at the time 6/20. I called to order orange chicken, Mongolian beef, and beef fried rice. The one taking my order asked to clarify if I wanted thick pieces of orange pieces and recommended for me to get the general TSO chicken. She said their orange chicken is a different style-thank God she told me. The food was really good. Maybe more $$than normal but it was really good, better than Panda Express. Highly recommend

Went here for a work event. The tables we reserved were ready on time. Our food was really fresh and delicious and all the dishes were hot when they came out. The server was good as well. Our tables were in a corner and we were probably loud so I'm not sure how other patrons felt about having such a large party near the regular tables.

It was so crowded, I had to wait for an hour, so I went to the back door, hoping to do the to-go order, and I also had to wait for half an hour, so I just left without trying it. I used to go there before the pandemic. And it was very good.

So I think I might have found my new dim sum place in the DC metro area. I loved oriental east in silver spring but after it shutdown I started going to Silver Fountain. But a friend took me to Far East and the food was amazing! Just like most typical dim sum places, yes you will have to wait and no they don't take reservations. Definitely worth it!

Looks like very traditional Chinese restaurant. Waiter and waitress are speaking Cantonese. The salt and pepper scallops are a bit plain to me. The dry stir fried rice noodles with beef is a bit plain too but I am ok with it. The dry stir fried string beans is very tasty. The service is very good. Plenty parking spaces. The waitress said that they are very very busy for weekends dim sum. I have to come again to try their dim sum.

The food is on point but I’ll definitely just order the food to go next time. It’s my first time coming to this place with my family and the servers were really nice and attentive. But when it was time to pay, I typically pay with my card and leave a CASH tip. The gentleman who charged my card confronted me about not leaving a tip on the receipt in front of everyone despite there being CASH on the table. It was very embarrassing.
