I stop by whenever I'm in the area. The yellow curry soft shell crab dish is my go to here. Seafood lovers must try it! Some other dishes I like are the seafood fried rice, chicken kaprow and the golden triangles.

Tara Thai, nestled in Silver Spring, is a haven for Thai cuisine enthusiasts, offering a delightful mix of great food and a charming ambiance. **Food:** While the dishes showcase the rich flavors of Thailand, some patrons feel that the Thai rice could use a touch more seasoning to elevate its taste to match the excellence of other menu items. **Prices:** It's true that Tara Thai leans towards the higher end in pricing, but the quality of service and the overall experience often justifies this slightly elevated cost. **Location, Decor, and Service:** The restaurant's location is a definite plus, easily accessible and complemented by an inviting decor that immerses diners in a tranquil Thai atmosphere. The service receives consistent praise for its attentiveness and friendliness, contributing significantly to the overall positive experience. In summary, Tara Thai in Silver Spring offers a pleasant dining experience with its good food, particularly notable for its Thai dishes, alongside a charming ambiance and commendable service. Though prices might be a bit higher, the overall experience is a testament to its appeal in the area's culinary scene.

Tara Thai was always one of the best Thai restaurants in the DC area. Not sure why their ratings have declined. I know they had a slow recovery from the pandemic, hopefully they are on the upswing. The last few dinners we have had here were excellent. During the most recent visit, we had the spring rolls and chicken dumplings for appetizers. The spring rolls were solid, though the dumplings were a little on the bland side. For dinner, we had the Pattaya noodles and the Spicy Eggplant. Both dishes were excellent. The Eggplant was nicely spiced and the large Eggplant chunks were perfectly cooked. The Pattaya Noodles were also spicy, but the spice didn't overpower the shrimp, squid, and crabmeat in the dish. The service was great and the place looked as nice as ever.

The food is good. I've eaten from this restaurant several times now with carry out. The customer service could be better. Some of the hosts/hostesses in the front when you walk in are curt and short in behavior with customers. They can be more polite and display more patience. I highly recommend their Pad Thai, Pad see ew, and fried rice dishes

The BEST Pad Thai I have ever eaten! I’ve been coming back to this place for 10 yrs bcs I could not find anything better! Besides that, this specific location of Tara Thai seems to make the best Pad Thai!Try adding extra peanuts if you are not allergic. Even their calamari sauce is the best! Amazing atmosphere to enjoy the privacy, vibe and very AFFORDABLE food!

This is really good. If you go on a weeknight there's no wait. We got the pad Thai and panang curry which was really good. The curry was really coconut heavy. Highly recommend

The atmosphere is good. The Tom yum soup is a bit salty. In general, this is a fine restaurant for late dinner and affordable price.

AMAZING!! Didnt get the friendliest of greetings, but the server was great. My first time there and I was in awe of the asethtics, it is beautiful inside with a underwater theme. I was skeptical on food, I am a picky eater, but the food was great! I had a good portion size. The drink was great. I will definitely go back next time I am in town.

Had lunch at Tara Thai on Rockville Pike today. We had Beef Mussamunn and Pad Thai. Both entrees were delicious and nice portion. The service was prompt, friendly and professional. The restaurant atmosphere and decor and the main entrance look however, needs some upgrading and clean up. Perhaps some Thai decor for the interior would give the place a bit more authentic feel. Removing stacks of patio chairs covered with tarp next to the entrance would take away some of the unpleasant look of the exterior. With the hand-written notice on the door and stacked up chairs we actually thought the place was closed from 20 feet away and almost didn't go in. Turned out the notice said "use other door."

I have eaten here several times it’s never bad. Middle of the road average Thai food and I would know because I’ve been to Thailand and have the real stuff. Me and my partner are usually split a red and green curry if I’m in the mood, I order an appetizer like calamari. I’m feeling lazy I order from here.

Food is good at decent prices, but place looks closed when you look at it from the outside due to the dark glasses this place has. Walked to the door and noticed was open. Will benefit from an "open" neon sign. Old tape and papers stuck in the entrance door reflects neglect. Some windows look dirty.

We ate in recently and were pleasantly surprised. Quick and friendly service; you could tell the food came straight out as soon as it was ready. Our appetizers (coconut chicken soup and a spicy seafood dish) were good, but we LOVED the pad see ew. Possibly the best pad see ew we've ever had, and we've had a lot of Thai! We will absolutely be back to try other dishes on the menu.
