This place has so much character, the decor itself is really warming, calming, and comforting to me. I love all of the stained glass everywhere in the place. And the mixed matched plates are really cute to me. I know a few other places that do that and they always seem to be the best places.

January 23rd we visited The Oar House in Rockwall, near the Harbor. Established about 20 years ago, The Oar House is simply Rockwall! I give this place 5 stars and here’s why: the Oar house is quiet, romantic, cozy, rustic yet elegant, with authentic wood floors with brick and cobblestone accents. T
The food was amazing. Our waitress on the other hand very unattentive. We literally had to wait 30 minutes to order after we'd been sitting there an hour and then when we needed more water it took her another 30 minutes.
Still one of best restaurants in Rockwall. An oldie, but great food & service, which is rare.
Great selection of steak, seafood, pork, soups, salads; great wine list, and always Chef Specials nightly. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu.
Food was yummy! Big wine list. Small drink menu. You need a reservation to make sure you get a table. Waitress was very friendly. We ended up dining in the patio where they have this pretty fountain. Very chill ambiance.
We always enjoy the specials at the Oar House but the crab claws are main stay. Crab butter and garlic - how can you go wrong???? We had the flounder with crab meat and it was awesome.
Nice place with a cosy deco. Was packed tonight even when I went in after 8pm. Had the calamari and the Father’s Day special ribeye. Both were good!
