GREAT FOOD. The foods was absolutely marvelous. Jimmy created a meal for a table of four that was unique and quite different than the standard fare available on Long Island. Each dish somehow managed to "one up" the earlier dish. The aesthetics of the presentation as well as the various tastes of each dish created a memorable evening. Try his scalop presentation as well as his variations on "monk fish liver! " All of his food is a palatable treat. I hope to return often.

Great Food. There are enough Japanese restaurants in the area that you could eat at a different one each night for a month. What makes Yuza a stand out is that they are unlike any other Japanese restaurant around town. I say that in the most positive way.

At Yuz you can order off a "standard" Japanese menu of great dishes or you can ask Chef Jimmy to create a customized meal for you and your guests.

That's the way we did it the two times we enjoyed the restaurant. Chef Jimmy came to our table and asked us about our likes and dislikes and he put together a great meal. The first time we asked him to bring only raw fish and no rice or noodles. We had a four course meal of the freshest sushimi including tuna, yellowtale and the like. All were dressed with beautiful fruits and Japanese vegetables. Last night we did the same thing and enjoyed another spectacular dinner with yellowtail in spicy jalepano sauce and tuna tartare, monkfish liver (delicious on a cucumber with crispy lotus wafer) and a sesame noodle dish. We enjoyed a bottle of dry Finger Lakes Reisling with our meal. (IT's BYOB which is great and there is a liquor store across the street open until 9pm).

The beauty of the customized menu is not knowing exactly what is coming next...only knowing that it's going to be great. This makes for some very exciting eating and for those folks who are looking to watch their waistline you can ask him to forget about the standard rice or even noodle accompanyments and just enjoy the fresh fresh and spices and condiments.

Great job Jimmy and the staff who are very nice. We'll see you soon.

If you want a mediocre japanese food, then this is NOT the place for you!. While the restaurant is still in the midst of in between ambiances, the food there is delectable.

Looking at the menu, Yuzu appears to be nothing out of the ordinary but take the specials and you're in a whole other world.

The chef started our menu with a salmon salad in a sweet and tangy dressing; great for watering the palate. He then moved onto a spicy and tart mesculin green and octopus mix that sent my taste buds out of this world.

To calm my tongue, he moved us into a simple Tuna Tataki, but dazzled the dish with drizzles of truffle oil. Oh my god was the presentation beautiful!

Our stomachs were then warmed with slices of juicy rosemary seared beef over a bed of diced mango. Lined with a spicy red pepper sauce, the flavors of all these mixtures turned a simple slice of flank into heaven. It might as well have been kobe.

By now, we needed something hot so the chef brought out a Tom Yum broth with lobster, shrimp, and clams over Udon. Lemony and spicy, the soup made me want to never put down my spoon.

OH... and the dessert was heaven. Plum wine custard with strawberries and red bean.... Come on!!!

Hey, if you want mediocre japanese food with no heart, head down to Kotobuki or something... but if you're a foodie with a palate, ask the chef at Yuzu to hook you up!!!

Best sushi around! I drive all the way to Roslyn cause they don't deliver to me, I'm too far away. But it's SO worth it. The salmon sashimi is to DIE for, like seriously out of control, so fresh and buttery. You really can't go wrong with anything you get, it's all delicious.

I have tried almost all around 10-12 restaurants in this area and surroundings (Port Washington, Mineola, Roslyn) and nailed down the best ones ...and second best of them is Yuzu......Yuzu is a little gem from where you can have takeouts and you would love every bite of it. I have never actually dined in the restaurant but always have got take outs or delivered to our home, loved loved loved it. Staff is really good and helpful and the delivery is super fast. Would definitely recommend to anyone who loves fresh sushi rolls :)

Super high quality food and service. The waiteress was paitent to answer all my questions relate to sushi. I barely eat raw fish, so I had tons tons questions. I was willing to give a try, and it did not turn out disappointed me. Definitely try more raw fish here next time. It is a good place for friends reunion and family gathering. Highly recommended
