The Anchor is a hidden gem on the coast of Maine that absolutely deserves your attention. From the moment you walk through the door, to the time that you leave, this is a restaurant that treats you well. The service was fantastic, and the food was among some of the best I've had in quite some time.
Excellent food and service on busy Tuesday after labor day. (We made a 7:15 reservation) Only down side was while seated on the picturesque deck overlooking the water (amazing scene!!) they really need some overhead fans or corner fans to move the strangely not fall like hot humid air! Beautiful restaurant! If you choose the porch for seating, you have a nice view. Food was good. Service was even better. We had a great waitress, Cassidy, who made the dining experience just lovely. Thanks Cassidy! Highly recommended.
This fun restaurant was a wonderful place to start our vacation. The service was superb, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was charming. As a bonus, I ran into friends I knew when I lived in the Virgin Islands!
Reservations are highly encouraged, but they were able to accommodate us just fine. The blueberry martinis were awesome. My husband's lobster was delish. Try the calamari--so good. and my roasted romaine wedge with pickled beets, tomatoes that tasted like candy, and blue cheese was awesome.
Had a very troublesome day and needed to eat supper. We didn't have reservations and it was pretty full. But, they were able to find us a table for 3. Thank goodness for a good ending to a bad day.
This place is great!! We just went for drinks, super friendly bartender, he figured out a cocktail he hadn't made in a while for us. Good bar area. We definitely want to come back.
Beautiful restaurant and the food was good. As everywhere else in Maine right now, they are hurting on getting employees. Service sometimes was a little slow.

It was our pleasure to enjoy our very first dining experience at Anchor Restaurant this summer, and it didn’t disappoint. The atmosphere is quintessential coastal Maine all the way.
