Wasn't expecting much when I walked up. Just a little deli looking store with a patio. My family sat on the patio. Excellent service, food was delicious. Even the flavored teas were worth noting. The best was last...the buttery pie! We decided since their was four of us to get an entire pie to share. Delicious � We thanked the valet that told us to go their with a piece.
Elliott and his staff catered our wedding 7/7/17. Everything was phenomenal. He was easy to work with, and even accommodating when I switched things up a few days before. Amazing food and service. I had several guests tell me that it was the best wedding food they have ever had! We recommend the cordon bleu and brisket!
My favorite lunch spot in town! The staff is very friendly and the food is always fresh. I highly recommend their crab salad sandwich on a croissant with tomato basil soup and of course a slice of buttermilk pie for dessert. �
Amazing place with a lot of charm! Fantastic food and amazing desserts! Highly recommend any sandwich on a croissant and the crime brûlée cheesecake is to die for!! Will come back here any time I am in town!! :)
What a great little place! We have been to Ruidoso many times and have missed out on the charm and good food of this place! You have to make this one of your go to places for lunch or afternoon snack!
I never leave reviews but I love this place. We always stop on our way home to Roswell from Las Cruces. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the soups and desserts are awesome! I highly recommend the cream of asparagus soup or clam chowder! Such a cute location too.
The chicken salad sandwich was amazing! And the pie is even better! My kids loved the cookies! I've never seen my children eat a cookie so fast! And the cookie is big! Bottom line this place is my go to every time we're in Ruidoso. Try it! I promise you won't regret it!
Kevin, the chef, is fantastic, friendly and accommodating! I had the tortellini pasta, which was delicious! With the tomato basil soup, which was oddly textured, but also delicious. My friend had the chicken salad and reports "yummy" and the cheddar broccoli soup as "to die for."
The wait staff was super attentive, never did my ice tea glass drop below half full. It can get very crowded!
A must visit for lunch in Ruidoso!

Simply cannot go to Ruidoso and not have Village Buttery. Hands down favorite place in town.
One of our favorite places for lunch! Staff is always friendly! Service is always good! Food is always delicious! We have to go at least once a week. 😉

We always make time to have at least one lunch here while we're in town. I could eat here everyday but my family thinks they need pizza and Mexican too. Love love love this place!!!

Had a delicious time at the Village Buttery for lunch. The sandwiches were fresh, soups savory, and service really top notch. I'd recommend swinging by next time you're in Ruidoso.
Soooo delicious. I ordered the turkey sandwich combo with tomato basil soup. Everything was so yummy. Will definitely be back!! The outdoor seating is really cute and the scenery is beautiful. 100% recommend to anyone visiting and wanting to eat something good and not very expensive.
I was totally blown away by the meal I enjoyed here. The pasta was fresh and tasted wonderful. The chicken salad sandwich was light, and it left me full and satisfied. Every bite was an absolute pleasure, and I’ll be returning as soon as I’m back in Ruidoso.
All the times I've gone to Ruidoso I never knew this little place existed. Amazing service, amazing food! Dog friendly patio, I had my huskies and we sat in the back corner and the lady offered them water. The food was exceptional the quiche was excellent! We decided to each get a different cheesecake to try. My mom got the blueberry cheesecake my husband got the regular and I got a key lime pie. All three of these were very delicious! We will definitely go again! Also one of the few places open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Great food and service. I am slowly working my way through everything on the menu and, so far, everything has been tasty.
I would recommend some tweaking to the Wedding Soup. Perhaps add a little bit of celery salt, carrots, and shredded chicken. That's how we make it back in Ohio.
Either way, still the best place in town to get soups and sandwiches.
I've been eating at The Buttery for 20 years and it never disappoints. Every time we visit Ruidoso we eat lunch here at least every other day. The soups, salads, sandwiches, and desserts are absolutely fabulous!
Love this place. Everything is great, really enjoyed the veggie wrap and tomato bisque. And stick around for the pie, it's worth it.
The staff is amazingly friendly. And they have plenty of shaded outdoor seating.
