Gunther's Quality Ice Cream - Sacramento - Photo album

This was an absolutely amazing ice cream shop! It was super busy but we got in and out within 10 minutes. The hit fudge sundae was so delicious!! We also got eggnog and a freeze. 10/10!
This is THE place to stop if you’re in Sacramento, visiting Sacramento, driving through Sacramento or just want an excuse to eat ice cream. I’ve come here on every one of my visits from the Bay Area and it’s now become a tradition. Gunther’s has a vintage retro charm to it with a huge neon sign out
Want to Gunther's on a hot Thursday afternoon. Fortunately the line was short and we were able to order and be served quickly. This is the best ice cream, not just in town, but anywhere. It's also very nostalgic to return here regularly since I've been visiting since I was a child. I remember these
Great Ice cream, was very nice to just sit outside and enjoy the ice cream. Weather was great so the place was crowded. There’s a lot of sitting chairs and tables outside and just need to be patient… parking was easy and free on street side. All in all was a great experience and will definitely stop
First time trying Gunther's! Friends brought me along to try them out. I ended up getting their fruit freeze since I'm lactose intolerant, so I didn't really want to test the stomach with the ice cream haha. I got the strawberry fruit freeze and the flavors were good. Everybody else enjoyed their
The best ice cream I’ve had in norcal so far. Black walnut, maple nut, and coffee are my choices! Nice staff and environment
The location is small. Food is great! Selection is amazing! The lines are sooooo long (we went on a Saturday). The inside was a little unorganized but the staff were very friendly and tried their best. It’s just such a fabulous place that you can’t rate them lowers because they’re so popular. Expect
They make their own ice cream in their store, and in front of everyone! How cool is that? 😍.. The taste of their ice cream is just heaven on earth! Next time, I'm trying their 50/50 fruit freeze! Please, give this store a try when you visit Sacramento! 😬
On a hot day in August it really hit the spot. Place was packed, people lined up out the door. Well worth the wait. Delicious
Visited Gunther's on our Sacramento trip. The place was packed. There was a line, but their service is great, so the line was moving fast. Got the oreo milkshake, which was decent. It barely had oreo chunks, so that was a bit disappointing. My friends liked their ice cream.
What a find! We drove 21 miles and the homemade ice cream didn't disappoint! My kid had the bubble gum flavor and I had a 1scoop sundae. The butter brickle is the best I have ever had! Love this place and will be coming back whenever I am near downtown Sac!
Really was one of the best ice cream I had. Staffs were very friendly and patient too.
Historic and amazing. The Fresh Fruit freezes are yummy and refreshing. The ice cream flavor of the mo th was unique and delicious. There was a long line when we came on a Sunday afternoon. But it moves so quick it was not even a problem. Prices are reasonable and service is good. Places to sit outs
This is some of the best ice cream Sacramento has to offer. I got a traditional banana split and it was complete perfection 🤤🤤.
Delicious sugar-free raspberry sherbet! I wish I could try the other sugar-free flavors, but I am back in TN. I wish you could distribute it at Kroger in TN! World's best ice cream! Fun neon sign of juggling ice cream scoops on the front.
We have always gone to Gunther's for ice cream, but today I tried their pastrami sandwich along with a chocolate malt. Both were exceptional.
What a neighborhood gem! I'm not familiar with the area but made a stop after seeing all the reviews. We got the small sundae (with brownie) and 50/50 fruit freeze, both of them were solid choices. Really loved the refreshing fruit sorbets with vanilla ice cream in the middle - will definitely stop
First time stumbling on this place. Lots of people were getting the fruit freezes (guava, mango, & raspberry), but we got the ice cream. Thai Tea was a good flavor. The coffee flavors were good also. Seating is outside down the sidewalk, not inside. No restroom. If you go across the street to Pang
The ice cream is always good! But...they took out the booths inside, the only seating is outside in the cold (currently December). It kind of bites to have to sit down outside and freeze your butt off eating ice cream on a winter night. Not very customer friendly, IMO.
