Just Amazing. We came for the smoked prime rib and that did not disappoint! Cooked a perfect medium rare with perfectly cooked veggies and mashed potato. We'll be back here!
Happened to be there on a night they had their pastrami sandwich on the menu. It was recommended by our server and I'm glad I made the choice to order it. Fantastic! If you are lucky enough to have it, order it!
Went there to try the Pork Belly sandwich. It was huge and came with a side of homemade Mac & Cheese - a LOT of food!! Both were VERY good! The sandwich was stacked with meat and had a homemade coleslaw on it that fit the sammy. A truly great lunch. I'll definately go again to try the Garlic Steak Sandwich or the Reuben.

I love this place. The food is so worth going for. Not actually the best place to take your kinds because there is not a huge selection for the kiddies. But overall its the best steak ever. The brisket is also phenomenal.
Absolutely fabulous and worth the prices. Garlic steak sandwich was better than imaginable, the clam chowder deserves the title of "best in sacramento", and even the side of potato salad had unique, captivatingly delicious flavor . Can't wait to come back.
Saw on Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives. I saw this on D,D,D and it looked good. Went there and had the steak sandwich. It was good, not fantastic. I will go back because I want to try the prime rib....
Went to lunch here after seeing his resturant on triple D from the Food Network. It's difinately a dive place. Small place with small menu but has daily specials. I had the prime rib dip which you could surely taste the smoky flavor. Garlic steak sandwhich wasn't as garlicy as I thought it would be but still yummy to eat.
Awesome. Jamie's is the best. I've never had lunch there - so don't take my word, if that's what you're looking for. But they serve up some of the best dinners in Sacramento. Neighborhood is dodgy, there's no sign on the front, and the interior looks like a bar from the movie Deerhunter. But they do it up right. Dive bar atmosphere with first rate American cuisine.
Holy Jebus, this place was delightful. I was iffy about my boyfriend's instructions to "just push my way through the hallway to get to the bar", but it worked. I settled atop a cushiony barstool next to an older lady plowing her way through a rather large fish entree. My boyfriend pointed out that one of the bartenders sounded like Robert Downey, Jr. Agreed. When he began insisting he looked like it too, I politely asked him to stop drinking. Calamari and Clam Chowder were ordered and subsequently devoured. Best Clam Chowder in Sacramento? Perhaps. We split an embarrasingly large platter of BBQ chicken, ribs and links, and then I took a bite of the BEST THING EVER. At least here. And that would be the cornbread.
Cornbread everywhere else: YAWN. Cornbread at Jamie's: "^* YEAH!"
It's buttery. It's spicy. It's full of cheese. It's just perfection. I ordered an additional
Came for a retirement party on a Friday afternoon. Brisket sandwich and fries hit the spot. Brisket was juicy and flavorful. Fries were crispy and seasoned just right. Waitress was a on it. I didn’t catch her name, but she was friendly, efficient, helpful, and patient with a large group (30+) that was seated in a separate building outside of the main dining area. Jamie’s is a popular spot for a good reason.
A Sacramento institution, from the outside it doesn't look like much but they have great food. Known for their smoked prime rib, the French dip at lunch is a delicious nap-inducer. Also tried the burger which was good. Excited to go back and try other dishes (or just keep ordering the french dip). Put it on your Sac restaurant bucket list for sure.
While the daily specials draw in the locals looking for their favorites, a few of the menu items truly stand out.
The rich and smoky au jus takes the French dip to the next level. While the Garlic Steak Sandwich is worth the trip from the other end of the state.
If you are in Sacramento this is a place you should visit. The entrees were not just a great price, huge but also amazing. The Garlic Steak sandwich and French Dip are must have. We weren't big fans of the steak cut style calamari. It tasted good but just not what we're used. We went on a Monday afternoon and they were somewhat busy. I don't know what they are like during a lunch, dinner rush or on the weekends but I can imagine they might be pretty busy. They're right off the highway and are easy to miss so look for the green awning. Overall it was a great experiencing and will visit again the next time we're in Sacramento. I'm certain my friends from Stockton, who joined us, will be returning.
Was recommended to eat here by locals so gave it a shot! I ordered the garlic steak sandwich with onion rings. The steak was superb 👌, juicy & delicious, l liked the fact they put everything on the side including the garlic Mayo, so you can "build" your own sandwich; tomato, lettuce and pickle... The onion rings were crunchy on the outside and meaty on the inside, with zesty ranch dipping sauce... Cold draft Beer made this meal go down nicely!!! Well done!
Jamie’s has fast become a ‘go to’ stop when we want to have a good meal. They have daily specials, along with a regular menu. BBQ is excellent, and they have some of the best calamari I’ve ever eaten, so that’s always the first thing we order. There’s a full bar, so it’s nice to grab a beer or a cocktail to accompany the meal. Service is quick and staff are super friendly. I’ve never had a bad meal or experience there.
This place is amazing. My husband and I visited on Saturday and had the French Dip and Garlic Steak sandwiches, with a calamari appetizer. Everything was amazing and I was pleasantly surprised by both the fries and potato salad. I see why this place is so well-liked! I highly recommend it.
Had lunch with wife. We shared the garlic steak sandwich with fries and it was tasty. Highly recommended.
Love the vibe. They've got the best fries and steak sandwich!
We always come here for the Garlic steak sandwich. It's delicious. It comes with 2 small sandwiches so sometimes we will share. It's still plenty of food. This last time I got the fish and chips and they were amazing. The fish has like a panko coating and was so crispy. The homemade tartar sauce complimented the fish perfectly. There were 4 pieces which I couldn't finish.
