Wonderful service, so friendly. Even the owner said hi to us!
The food was glorious bagette with butter, cornbread with black beans, and gumbo galore!!! This gumbo this what made us curious to stop by here in the first place.
So much fun, every spoonful was a different flavor and texture, all
Adored my experience here. The grio was flavorful and juicy. The gumbo was authentic. Chicken wasn't dry, but soft and flavorful. The flavor is on point and lots of French bread to share. Such a unique eatery and highly reccomended. I got a glass of beer for only $3.50 too.
I like the vibe here. It is a very small and quaint restaurant. Tonight was particularly busy so it took a minute to get our order.
The grio platter for the starter was pretty delicious!
We ordered these Celestin's gumbo and the the Chicken, sausage and shrimp gumbo. The broth is decent overall. M
This small but mighty restaurant has equal seating in and out featuring soulful cajun fare.
We had dinner inside on a Friday night without reservations and were lucky to get seated immediately! They were full within ten minutes of arrival. Several take out customers came and went. Nice atmosphere, c
Glad they are back! We went the first weekend they were open. It was a bit hectic, new servers and very tight space. Celestine's Gumbo was missing something, still VERY fresh and good!! Corn cakes and black bean appetizer was tasty and worth the try! Grio was great, enjoyed all including the avacado
New location, Beautifully decorated. My Cubano sandwich was awesome. Key Lime Pie was wonderful but the Whipped Cream on top had no sugar, just tasteless, really Bit the pie underneath was perfect mouth-watering Key-Limeness. $50 for two people, without drinks (just water) seemed a little high. Célestin’s restaurant have a nice and beautiful atmosphere!! I came across it while looking for Carribean and Haitian restaurant near me while walking in “J street, Sacramento” . To be fair their food is good but as a Haitian food aficionado the only thing that tasted more or less like Haitian food
Found this little gem of Creole Fusion! Haitian and New Orleans cuisine brought to you in an intimate and festive setting. The place is beautiful and the music choice brings me back to my roots. So glad I found this place. Service is superb. Very friendly, clean, and the food is amazing.
I can't expressed how thrilled I am that this TREASURE is back in business! I was so enthralled in my meal...Grio Sliders-spicy, flavorful & rich! And the Shrimp and Avocado Salad - perfection with the vinegarette I remember!... That I totally forgot to take a foodie dork photo! But, I did get one i
Their gumbo is awesome, I don't know how they don't get more businesses. I had a fundraiser here today and everyone who went loved the food! Service is wonderful too.
Wonderful meal in tight quarters but everyone was friendly. We will definitely be back.
Very happy to have Celestin's back! The gumbo is still great, the baguettes are very nice, and the shrimp avacado salad is a great starter to share.
Great place with great food and decent service. Place is extremely small and crammed
Phoebe and her husband are wonderful. The Cuban sandwich was the best I’ve had in Cali. I’m from Tampa and we’re very critical with cuban sandwich’s iykyk. The drinks were also great the margarita and the limeade very refreshing. Also loved the decor and atmosphere. Very good location great to go on
Have had the Cuban, curry, jambalaya. All great choices. Nice little place in McKinley Park Area. Excellent wait staff. Nice drinks as well. Indoor/outdoor seating.
I was in a pickle and needed 5 gallons of gumbo broth for an event I was catering. Patrick was more than accommodating and his broth was delicious. My gumbo turned out great with rave reviews from my guests. I can't wait to dine there and sample his other goodies. Highly recommend this jewel of a
