Luna's has a wonderful, small venue vibe, a diverse but not overwhelming menu of food and drinks - including vegetarian options (my gluten and dairy challenged friends have no problems here) - and is very reasonably priced. The talent that performs here includes both local & international artists and the cover charge usually hovering around $6-7. Our proprietor, Art, is a real asset to our community.

For a $6 cover, we enjoyed awesome music all evening long. The Cups were so wonderful (as usual) and David Houston and String Theory brought the house down. It's a very small place so if you're going on a music night, go early and have dinner. Their menu isn't big but what they do have is reasonable priced and delicious. I almost didn't post this review because I want to keep this little gem to myself!

I have frequently played and attended many performances here over several years. I highly recommend that you make plans to enjoy a evening at Luna's Cafe. A great venue to enjoy a wide variety of performances and get something to eat and drink. Extremely reasonably priced for what you get in return. Art Luna's has been supporting the Arts for several decades in Mid Town Sacramento.

Luna's Cafe is a special place. The menu features tasty, healthful items that you can wash down with fresh juice, a smoothie, or a cold brew as the mood suits you. On Monday evenings you can enjoy live music that is consistently excellent. The lineup changes from week to week.

Red's Blues has performed there several times, and we always enjoy playing at Luna's Cafe. Art Luna is supportive of all arts, and welcomes a variety of music. They have great food, too.

First of all, Art Luna and his crew are a great bunch of folks...down to earth, customer and artist focused, all around good people. The food is excellent, the libation selection is awesome, and the service is outstanding! (I don't know how she does it but the cool chicka-who's name I need to make a point of learning-always rocks the food and drink service despite the sometimes shoulder to shoulder crowds in attendance. The venue is small but does not feel cramped - I love playing there because it truly feels intimate and you can really connect with the audience. The atmosphere is VERY artist-centric, and tastefully done. The boys and I of PuddleStomper have always had great experiences at Luna's, and hope to play there again soon. Stop what you are doing and go there right now!

Luna's is THE best place to enjoy good food and a great show at the same time. And all the super-friendly faces I see every time I'm there is another reason to love Luna's. One of my favorite venues in our fair city!

Performed at Luna's a few times and he treats his entertainers with respect. A great place to play with great ambiance. Will be there on Oct. 4 with Pat Kearns (Portland) and Dr. Hall and the Blues Practitioners. Come on out and see what I mean about this gem of a place.

As others have stated, Art Luna has been a huge supporter of the arts in Sacramento -- poetry and other spoken word, original music, stand-up comedy, visual art and more. Plus, the food at Luna's Cafe is really good, and its warm, intimate room is my absolutely favorite place to perform. So, Art, how 'bout another gig?

If you haven't been to Luna's... WAKE UUUUUP! Great food and drink, first class entertainment, the kind of music and performance that you don't get to hear or see at most other places, but you should. Once you check it out you'll become a regular.

I had an amazing time last night at Luna"s Cafe, the music and ambiance were supreme. I highly recommend this venue for its artsy feel and true community importance. Someone said new talent has been discovered at Luna's; I sure heard some last night. Jenn and Aja both have incredible natural talent. To hear Aja hit the high notes was something close to nirvana. All of the artists last night are such fabulous musicians and the energy was so vibrant I left wanting more!

Went to hear a friend play music. That was amazing. Hadn't been in years...very small. Enjoyed Guacamole and Chips. More on the Menu to be enjoyed at another time. Friendly Staff. Pleasant Atmosphere. Funky Place. Located in Midtown Sacramento....parking can be challenging.

The bands are great There's a cover charge it goes to the musians.... The more people that come the more money the musians make and that means your supporting your local artists. Helping them to achieve their musical goals in life....

This has been my best brunch experience since moving to Philly. I came to have a calm lunch with someone and this is the type of place you can ease into Saturday at. KC our waitress had us laughing the whole time. What a fantastic experience.

You're always welcomed and respected by the staff who are warm, friendly, attentive and go out of their way for you. I had special food needs and the kitchen worked with them, no problem. I love the atmosphere at Luna's, like today and bygone days at the same time. And mine host Art Luna is an unforgettable master host. Also, there is new talent to be seen nearly every night of the week at Luna's, trying out new material and ways to bringing art to the populace. You can get a little bit of an "underground' or "ahead of the times" feeling with Luna stage offerings--warm and unforgettable. I recommend the experience.

Art Luna and staff make this place a five-star experience, if you expect an informal, easy-going atmosphere with made-to-order smoothies and deli-style sandwiches. I have only visited during lunch. Timings on food can vary. Today everything was ready, for me, in five minutes. Other times, it can take longer. The equipment in the place feels well-worn, a bit tired, but the atmosphere was welcoming and good-spirited.

Simply put Luna's cafe is the best thing going on on a monday night. For next to nothing i can get some pretty decent coffee and kick back and enjoy some of Sacramento's most talented young musicians jam away within feet. Spend a bit more and i can get a nice meal along with a refreshing beverage and I'm a pretty happy lady. The cafe is fairly small and that's the biggest and possible only issue with it. The staff are great people, often the patrons are great people. I give it a respectable 4/5.

Went here on an open mic comedy night. The comedians where a mixed bag of mediocre to terrible (with maybe a couple decent ones thrown in). In fact the heckler was a hell of a lot funnier than the host. That said, other than being a little on the expensive side, the cafe itself was actually pretty decent.

Art Luna has consistently been top-rated for Best Open-Mic in SNR for, decades. It is a multicultural hub for artists poets musicians and full spectrum original talent going on into its forth decade. Beer-wine some tasty snacks in an intimate setting, I can't even fathom Sacramento without Luna's. It is a favorite for reasons you'll need to discover for yourself. And if you're not inspired by what you see& hear there, lo siento, my friend, and I hope you come around.

Locally owned. Long time place that supports the arts. A little funky...seems to be struggling to stay in business with gentrification encroaching. If you support buy local, make it a point to go to lunch here once a week. And take a friend or two.

Lunas is a small cosy place that's been around for over 30 years. It has been called a Bohemian Cafe because many people from Bohemia who are new to the area, feel at home there. Lunas offers food , soft alcohol, music , art & comedy.. Occasionally it is Good...πŸ™‚ And occasionally, it is frequently Good.. The owner is a "Patron of the Arts . And his name is Art. (Luna) 😊 And though I am not religious , I know for a fact, that He (Art) Is A God . Of the Sexual Variety. A Sex God. πŸ˜‘ I would highly recommend visiting Lunas if you like the Arts, if you like to Eat & Drink, if you like Bohemians,(from Bohemia) AND if you like Sex.. (And /Or Sex Gods) Part 2 At Lunas you will find them all. Also if you ARE, or you like young entitled, hipsters striving to bury their insecurities beneath a paper thin veneer of cool, you'll be in the right place.. πŸŽΆπŸ˜πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜‘πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜πŸ˜ŽπŸ€”πŸŽΆ But THAT is My OPINION.. πŸ˜‘ Since becoming old enough to receive senior citizen discounts i am not too fond of the young... πŸ˜ β˜ΉπŸ˜’πŸ˜¬πŸ€πŸ˜ But i digress... LUNAS....Great Place❗ πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹ Lunas=Casablanca πŸ™‚ Rick=Art Luna
