Best Don place ever! The server was really welcoming and helpful. When he found out that it was our first time there, he patiently explained the menu and suggested on happy hour menu and dishes. We did a happy hour combination with two dons each with a side, a drink and a dessert. Great value and good food.
Nice & friendly place w/rice dishes. Salted green onion w/chicken over rice ;#6 its was tasty and they threw in a boiled egg on the side for good measure. Miso soup out to have if you'd like. Busy during lunch but ordering was easy and food came out quickly looking very good.
Went to Masaya Yakiniku Don when I got selected for jury duty this last spring. Great place to pick up really good tasting food. Got the Sunrise Don with beef, and was very impressed at how fresh and well made the meal was. Would highly recommend to friends, or anybody who loves well cooked meals.
I am not sure how many times we have enjoyed Masaya but it is getting in the double digits. Simply exquisite meals. Served by courteous staff and presented in perfect fashion. Whenever we can we go. Parking sucks so if possible get there early and be prepared to walk a block or 3.

Went here just to try something new, but didn't know this place was like trying crack! I now need my weekly fix. For me, it's the #2 with pork and a side of kimchi. Miss soup and hot tea are included.
Great food but at a high price. The bowl was delicious with all the flavors mixing pleasantly and the short rib itself was nice and tender but sparse so skip the short rib/steak and just go with the cheaper options. The staff was extremely nice and helped out when people had questions. All in all a must try place for lunch but make sure you have time to spare as each bowl is meticulously crafted.
This was the first time my friend and I dined at The Firehouse and we will definitely be going back. The restaurant is beautiful, with an interesting history, the food was delicious, and service great! We started with cocktails in the upstairs bar, then lunch in the Courtyard Grill. I had grilled cod, my friend had a portobello mushroom sandwich and we were both very pleased; both were delicious! (Did I mention the food was delicious?) Can't wait to dine there again!
Pleasantly surprised when I ate here for the first time today. Food was delicious and hot. Unlimited/self serve miso soup and hot tea was a nice touch. I loved their bamboo spoons and how they serve your meal on a bamboo tray. They do not serve alcohol.
Just saw it and stopped by to try it out, very impressed. Courteous staff helped to inform me on what was included in each item. Great recommendations that were informative and not pushy. Food came out quickly and was hot and delicious. Complimentary miso soup and hot tea. I got a number 4 sunrise don. Egg was done perfectly and that and a drink was a little over 10 dollars. Glad I stopped in.
Stopped by on a whim for lunch today since I have walked by the place a lot, and I was extremely impressed. I did not leave disappointed or slightly hungry. You get unlimited hot tea and miso soup that you can serve yourself, along with the meal of your choice. The meat was very flavorful, but not too rich, and very tender and melts in your mouth. The rice is cooked perfectly, and I left with leftovers and miso soup to go for under $10!! Absolutely going back asap, and bringing my friends.
Super tasty food! A bit too much on the expensive side for me (considering the food itself isn't really stuff that should be that expensive), so coming here is more of a rare indulgence for me. Their food is on point though, and the employees are very helpful and friendly. (And they don't bother you while you're eating, so that's a big plus for me as well.)
I've stopped by for lunch a few times now. The pork has some seasoning im not a fan of but I've been blown away by everything else. Pretty much everything is a bowl of rice with meat and vegetables on top. You can get small sides and a drink. There's also all you can eat miso soup and tea.
I highly recommend it. The staff are very helpful, and the decor makes it a nice place to have lunch :)
Friend and I are on a business trip and stopped at Masaya for lunch per a colleague's recommendation. Great food served promptly by the friendly and efficient staff made my day a whole lot better! The standard serving plus miso soup is just enough to make you feel satisfied. This would be my daily go-to place if I live here.
This was the first restaurant I noticed when I started working in the Downtown area. Many of my lunch hours are spent walking past this place with a watering mouth, with the heavy scent of scrumptious Japanese food floating through the air. I've eaten here twice, only because I'm cheap and can't bear to spend $12 on a lunch for just one person. Customer service is pretty good, though they do tend to get busy during lunch and wait times can sometimes be quite long. I LOOOOOOOVE their Salted Green Onion Yakiniku Oyakodon with grilled chicken! I literally inhale my bowl as soon as it comes out of the kitchen. Other than being slightly on the expensive side, I can't say I have any other complaints!
Found this place while on jury duty. Had the Mapo Tofu with a side of Ramen Egg and seaweed salad. Good spice to the tofu, and the Teri chicken that came with it was good too. Food was flavorful and the staff was very friendly.
Wonderful.They had this system of like pulling out discounts from a box. Pretty creative. There was three of us. 5% 5% and 10%. Lucky me.
Found this place by accident while serving jury duty. Great, friendly service and really tasty food. Satisfying portions for a small price. Full and happy now. Ready to come back tomorrow if I don't get dismissed. Heck, I might come back anyway.
My spicy miso steak entre was a great choice! My friend got kalbi and it was just as amazing! Also, complimentary miso soup and delicious hot tea is the reason for an extra star! Great customer service as well!
