Essy's Kabob restaurant is a true joy for fans of Persian cuisine. The menu's star is their flavorful kabobs, with the Chelo Kabob Barg and Kebab Koobideh stealing the spotlight. The restaurant's warm atmosphere and friendly staff add to the inviting atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for casual meals and special occasions. From silky appetizers like Kashk-e-Bademjan to refreshing Mast-o-Khiar, Essy's Kabob promises a delicious and original taste of Persian flavors in a welcoming setting.
First time there for lunch. Food was for to-go. Guy was super nice. Took the time to explain the food and make recommendations. Ground beef kabob and rice was super moist. Dolmas was good. Portion was big. Service was fast. They don't have lunch price/ portion menu as suggested on Yelp. Would still highly recommend though.
Absolutely the best food I've had since working in Sacramento. I was blown away by how delicious the food was, you can truly tell it was made with love and with a passion for feeding people. I got the number 8 and had no regrets at all, the best of both worlds, chicken and beef! It's definitely worth the price and very filling! I can't wait to come back here, thank you to everyone here
Please order take out, and I have ordered rack of lamb.
Support local restaurants, not fast food chains. Do not let them go out of business due to the Biden & Newsom pandemic.
I will be back for more.
So yummy! First time on, and we're so pleased. Friendly staff, happy to recommend items and give descriptions. Had a chicken and beef plate. They were both seasoned well and juicy. Highly recommend!!
I ordered Ghormeh Sabzi, a beef, kidney bean, and green herb stew, with Baklava for dessert. The beef was very tender, the flavors very good. Got it for take-out since it was 25 minutes to close. Otherwise, I'd have loved to eat at the restaurant. It's small, quaint, homey, and very clean. The gentleman who took my order was pleasant to talk to. The experience was quite enjoyable. I'd definitely recommend this place and will be back.
Went back a few nights later. Ordered chicken kabobs this time. They were even better than the stew.
I ordered the Lamb Chop with rice. It came with dill sauce, humus and hot flat bread. It was delicious! The lamb was so tender it melted in my mouth. The flat bread was homemade and so was the humus served with such graciousness. Worth every penny. This is my new favorite.
The most delicious kebob. Nice service and atmosphere.
Wonderful place! The owner was very friendly and even was the one who was serving us. The food was good as well! The chicken kabob was nice and moist, plus pairing it with an order of their cucumber yogurt made it taste so great. Definitely recommend.
I had a great experience at this restaurant, the food was very delicious and the staff were so respectful and warm. I wish I could give more star than 5 to them. *HIGHLY RECOMMENDED*
Had the chicken and beef combo. Both were delicious and not overcooked. Warm Bread, yogurt (very fresh) and hummus were included. Owner Essy was very hospitable and kind even gave a free water bottle.
Absolutely delicious! The food was super juicy and yummy. The workers are super nice and accommodating. The atmosphere is super pleasant. I would definitely come back!
The restaurant served an array of incredibly delicious dishes that left us thoroughly satisfied. We relished every bite and were particularly enchanted by the enticing aroma of the authentic Iranian cuisine that filled the air, further enhancing our dining experience.
I ordered a take home Koobideh, Barg, and Josh Soltani. To start with, the rice is perfectly cooked, the tomato is well charred, and the extra grilled green pepper brings a prefect meal to a new level. All the meat is perfectly seasoned, tender, juicy, and has the perfect taste that I was craving for such meal. The quality of the meat is awesome, has no bad burned after taste, and prepared with care and love. My kids are picky eaters and they loved everything. The owner, whom I believe is also the Chief, is the most pleasant man you can meet, and absolutely can bring the name back to the Iranian food with pride to Sacramento. The Best Kabob in the World to me now is not just a name, it is what I got and missed here in Sacramento for over 20 years.
There was a lot of food. Perfectly grilled, with good seasoning. The owner gave our party of four a complimentary baklava to top it off. Perfect!
Absolutely delicious food and amazing service.
My order was menu number “7” grounded beef Kabab & Rice,
Highly recommended to everyone.
Thank you ESSY BABOB.
Best Mediterranean food quality I have ever had. The staff are extremely friendly. The place is very clean and relaxing. I love their chai bar, and the owner is very nice. Only problem is it's not very wallet friendly. Average price per dish is $15.
Excellent! Really nice people, and delicious food. We had rack of lamb & both of us agreed it was perfectly cooked & one of the best we’ve ever had! They do a lot of catering & take away, but you can also eat there! Nice & clean, good music, yummy smells! I would eat here a lot if I lived here!!
