Review Birdman Coffee & Books - Saint Francisville

The best coffee in the area and good food as well. It gets very busy so patience may be required. Well worth a visit.

Visited the cafe to catch up with friends and I must say, the sourdough bread was such a treat.to bring home to my family. Very tangy and dense bread! Great job to the baker. The coffee and atmosphere were very nice too.👍✅👍✅

I went with my son and we both ordered the pancakes. They were a little dry. The atmosphere is awesome. The wait staff is amazing. We will go back.

What a fun, fantastic place. I’ve never come back to the same restaurant two days in a row before. But on day 1, I was caught off guard by the friendly service and friendlier regulars (one who bought me my breakfast!?). On day 2, the barista remembered my order! After one day! Great coffee, funky art, affordable, and an environment I want to keep coming back to.

One of my favorite places in town. Coffee is the best, food and atmosphere is great!!! The people are friendly, it is a very cool place to go have a yummy southern breakfast with some homemade pastries too.

I have to say the place is quite charming and original but the staff have no clue and neither does the owner. The guy came to take our order and we told him we would like coffees and he stood there with a pen in his hand and we haven't even looked at the menu yet. As we were getting ready to leave the guy who buses the tables came and put his cleaning bottle on top of the table before we even got up. Poor training all the way around. The food was average breakfast food.

Love it. Enjoyed listening to and feeling a part of the Fugitive Poets as well as a wonderful dinner. Can't wait to do it again.

Delicious Breakfast Choices. My husband had the more traditional bacon, eggs, grits & homemade raisin toast while I had sweet potato pancakes with blueberries & pecans. Both were great & served quickly & cheerfully. Looking forward to more great breakfasts there very soon!

Sweet potato pancakes we're delicious! Friendly atmosphere with a small town feel. My wife loved her Carmel latte!

Fresh and Cute. This is a great little stop for St. Francisville visitors. Yummy coffee and eats with a comfortable atmosphere. There's an eclectic mix of furniture which gives you the option of a sturdy-backed chair or a rocking chair. I love the open, naturally lit ambiance of this place. Great for studying, reading or relaxing. The only issue that I have is that this place is a BIT pricey.

Sweet Potato Pancakes. Was visiting in town and stopped in. Was on a work trip so was looking forward to ordering some coffee and getting to work. Then found out they charge to use the internet. Not that it was expensive. It was more of the point - a coffee shop that charges for wifi? really? Like $3.50 for my simple iced coffee wouldn't cover me?

Aside from that, I will say the sweet potato pancakes helped ease my pain.

Delicious Food. We are regulars to the Birdman and often go on Sunday mornings after church. The Sweet Potato Pancakes are to die for! The omelets are terrific as are the muffins and pancakes with flax seed. The coffee is wonderful and the service is always good. We would highly recommend the Birdman on your visit to St. Francisville.

Do not eat here. The latte was pretty good, the service was great and attentive, but the food was awful. I ordered the Traditional: the eggs and sausage were pre-made and still cold, the biscuit was one of those Pillsbury bake-out-of-the-bag deals, and the grits were inedible: instant butter flavored made with water and no salt. I think they put the sausage and egg product on the plate, microwaved the plate (not long enough), and dropped the biscuit and grits on it. I'm ashamed that I paid $5.50 for it.

My husband ordered the salsa eggs, and that was even worse: microwaved egg product with salsa on top of a piece of regular, out-of-the-bag whole wheat toast, and a few pieces of pre-made bacon.

Fantastic!. The coffee, food, people, and music are fantastic. We visit St. Francisville several times a year and enjoy the Birdman every time we are in town.

Longrungoood!. We are regulars at the Birdman and have been for years. It is the hub of activity for many in our community. The Breakfast offerings are unique and consistently good. Missteps? Not often. They have started a regular music and homecooked supper on Mondays. The food is wonderful and the music is consistently as good as it gets anywhere. The cappuccinos, my favorite, are as good as I have had anywhere in my travels in the US, or Europe.

What a disappointment. Saturday my mother and I were driving through St. Francisville and decided to stop and have breakfast. I had high hopes, as previous stops in the town had yielded pleasant experiences, not so this time. From first impressions Birdman Coffee and Books looks as if it has lots of potential. The inside is an interesting mish mash of art studio, book store and coffee shop. To start off we both ordered iced tea (1.50) and I also ordered coffee (1.60), so far, so good. The place was packed with local residents, who for the most part all seemed to know each other but we received our teas fairly quickly. The trouble started when we ordered. I ordered the low-carb selection (4.50), which consisted of 2 scrambled eggs with diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar and green onions with your choice of bacon or sausage patty, of which I chose bacon. My mother opted for the old stand by of a sausage biscuit (2.50). As mentioned earlier there were lots of diners that morning so when our meal took an inordinate amount of time to arrive I blamed it on the crowd and the likelihood that someone was in the back making fresh biscuits and frying bacon and sausage. Wow was I wrong! When our meal did arrive my 3 slices of bacon looked suspiciously like the pre-cooked kind I buy and warm in a skillet at home when in a rush and my mom reported to me that her sausage was actually cold. Upon greater inspection the sausage looked like the pre-cooked sort as well and the biscuit was of the frozen variety to boot. So, I returned the biscuit for my mom who is all too ready to forego breakfast at this point. And by this point I mean close to 45 minutes from when we arrived. While we are waiting for the return of a hot sausage biscuit I start on my eggs which appeared to be very well prepared. Not so, as I began to cut them with my fork I see the inside is a blob of unset and under done egg whites. By this time I'm ready for the check and to chalk this experience up to where not to spend a Saturday morning or any other morning for that matter. I will say the coffee was good but I had to request cream which came by way of 2 soggy individual containers and the wait staff was polite and apologetic as to the coldness and length of wait, neither of which were her fault . With all the traffic through the town of St. Francisville, plus the number of nice restaurants in the area I would have hoped places like Birdman would be held to a higher standard by the numerous amount of regular customers than they obviously are. Trust me you'd be have a better breakfast at the local McDonalds.
