Large portions of very delicious Indian cuisine. The restaurant was only doing take-out by the time we arrived but the atmosphere was still great. The owner was very pleasant and a lot of fun to talk to while we waited for orders to get filled. If you love Indian food this definitely a place you add when visiting St. Louis!

Had the chicken tikka masala, medium spice - it was perfect.
My wife had the vindaloo hot, which was also delicious - a bit much for me, but perfect for her! Be aware the first bite seems innocent, but it builds over time and further bites into a beautiful furnace. Waiting for enough room to eat my samosa and punish myself with more of her vindaloo - my tikka masala is all already gone. :)

This place CONSISTENTLY has amazing HOT FRESH TENDER DELICIOUS food. The samos are a crispy you can't imagine, the naan is so tender and flavorful(garlic) the rice is PERFECTLY seasoned. The chicken dishes are TENDER. Not fork tender...SPOON tender. Do NOT second guess yourself with this place. Try it. They are worth it!

Great first time experience at this Indian Restaurant in St Louis! Food was amazing and service was great! I, sure, will be back.

Amazing indian food. We tried bhaingan [smoked eggplant with peas] bartha, channa masala [chickpea in a tangy tomato gravy], tadka dal [spicy lentils] and panneer masala and all of them were so delicious 😋.

Delicious lunchtime buffet with prompt service. Many vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. I was glad to find this restaurant to be walking distance from Chase Park Plaza Hotel.

I love this place. I’ve eaten here three or four times now and it has been delish every time. I’m a huge fan of the lunch buffet, and they sometimes have a mango pudding at it that is to die for.

Rasoi offers my favorite buffet lunch in St Louis. The food is very tasty and I feel everything is made from scratch. Staff are very nice and the restaurant is clean and quite.

If you’re looking for good Indian food, do yourself a favor and order from here at least once.
Recently moved to the area from LA and have struggled to find a good Indian food joint. After trying five or 6 different spots we stumbled upon Rasoi’s. They are only take out, but completely worth it in my opinion. Great casual takeout with a lot of flavor.
Ordered Samosa’s, chicken Makhani, and cheesy garlic naan.
Jessica Clark
Definitely my favorite Indian spot in STL. Samosas are a must try and the Chicken Tika Masala is always a go to

Excellent spot for lunch and dinner! Only available for take-out right now, but delicious nonetheless.
The portions are very generous and the staff are incredibly kind. We frequently enjoy the chicken tikka masala, chana masala, kebab sampler, and keema naan. You can easily adjust the spice to your preference at time of order.

Awesome authentic Indian food, good drinks, staff & service are nice. Clean and enjoyable atmosphere. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 - - chicken tikka masala and chicken curry are amazing, gotta get the garlic cheesy naan too!

Excellent restaurant in St.Louis. Found them on google search and they are a 5/5. Parking was an issue and I lucked out at the time of the day

Delicious Indian food! The service and atmosphere is great! They have a nice outdoor patio for dining and it is very comfortable. Very nice area of town.

The lunch buffet is great here with variety of options and desserts as well for 12 dollars without tax .The ambience is quite nice and relaxed and the dishes are delicious as well .one of my fav Indian buffet place in ST louis

We tried this place for a quick dinner, being vegetarian we opted for Palak panner & aloo gobi. The most amazing flavour& taste I have ever experienced outside India , the Palak paneer was the winner! Service was great and ambiance very quiet- perfect for family dinning or with friends. Highly recommend

They have some of the meanest waiters who snatch away your plates without permission. Today I had attended a buffet at India's Rasoi and within 10min the waiter brought me the cheque. I tried to tell him that i wasn't leaving yet and for that he responded saying" keep it, you've gotta pay eventually". And the food was stale and the biryani was not up to their previous standards. This has been the case in my previous few visits also. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I sincerely request the management of the restaurant to teach their staff some manners before they run out of business.
Robin Cavero
Food and service were excellent. The waiter made good recommendations and took good care of us. Atmosphere was quiet and it was easy to talk. Definitely will return.

Always clean, always delicious and always friendly. Expect to pay at at least about $35 for two people, but you pay for quality, ambiance, and service. The place is beautiful, perfect for a nice date night!

First Time, Not Last Time. Visited Rasoi for the first time this weekend. Since it was our first time we ordered several dishes including the chicken curry, samosas, calcutta fish and chips, and vegetable chettinad among others. I didnt know what to expect but i was hoping for a good experience and good food. I wasnt disappointed. My fam and I enjoyed ourselves. The environment people and food were really good. It was our first time but it wont be our last time. We'll be back soon!

Best Indian Ever Had. My wife and I have done a lot of traveling and had Indian in a lot of different cities, but this has been the best Indian we've ever had. I got the lamb vindaloo, which was cooked just right and had great flavor, and my wife had a veggie entree with pureed spinach that was delicious.
Ryz
Good location. Good ambience. Confused service. Ordered Chicken Biryani it turned out the spiciest, hottest I have ever had. We could not eat it. Ordered Aloo Parantha, mentioning specifically "without spices", it was served with spicy stuffing. Poor parking too is an issue.

Great. staff was amazing. food was wonderful. we have 2 year old and they brought him out milk and rice before we ordered our appetizers. the chicken tikka masala, samosa and crab cakes were wonderful.
Sydney
The food was delicious BUT when it came time to pay, the bill reflected different prices than those that were listed on the menu. Example: I got charged $2 extra for a whiskey on the rocks. AND they charged me $1 extra for the ice. So the whiskey that was listed as $7 ended up being $10! While $3 extra doesn't seem like a big deal, the way the waiter went about it was unacceptable. I pointed it out to the waiter and his explanation was that the new menu prices hadn't been printed yet but I was required to pay the "new" prices. In my opinion, it is simply wrong and illegitimate to charge customers unlisted prices. I felt scammed and so much of the restaurant experience has to do with the level of service. Needless to say, I left the restaurant with a bad taste in my mouth.
John Clones
Good deal for. Good deal for vegans. The menue changes but they do have the Indian regular dishes.
Phyllis Langsdorf
Food was delicious. Waiter was knowledgable. Can't wait to go back

Best Indian food we have had in St.louis, this place is amazing! The cheese naan is very cheesy and all the apps are great. Tiki masala is delicious!
Awilda Marquez
Absolutely delightful! First, the Lobster Dosa was innovative and delicately delectable. The Kerala Fish Curry was delicious. I would have wanted much more "heat" in the food, but assume that St.Louis is not a haven for afficionados of hot/spicy Indian food. Nevertheless, the Kerala Fish Curry was delightful. Delicate but flavorful sauce hosting a light fish. The Methi Malai Mattar was wonderful! Every bite exploded with flavor, and the peas held their own in the nicely flavorful sauce! Get the Flying Horse Lager beer. It was a perfect accompaniment. Can't wait to come back to this place!

Not Recommended !. Went with a group of friends for dinner and the whole table was over charged for food and sauces. From the moment we entered the staff was trying to up sell appetizers and drinks constantly. The waiter asked what type of bread we wanted with our meal and then charged $4 for a small pita bread. They also asked one of my friends what sauces she wanted and forgot to mention that they charge another $4 a piece for a small saucer. After asking for regular iced tea the waiter brought a bottle of tea and charged us $3.75. The portions were also very small and came in a cup! I actually waited for awhile for the main course until I realized that the cup with sauce and a small amount of meat was the whole $15 meal !. They also only gave us two bowls of rice to split between six people, we all had to request more just to finish our meals. Don't worry about tipping either, they add in their own gratuity that came out to be around 25% of the meal cost !! If you like small portions, over priced food, and being charged for every little thing then you will love this place ! Food was good but after seeing all the charges they added and how dishonest they were I would not recommend it to anyone, there are many other Indian restaurants with the same tasting food at much lower prices that I will be going to next time .

The food was excellent, and the service was even better. My wife and I ate here for the first time recently, and I suspect it will become one of our favorite CWE spots. The tandoori chicken and chicken curry were both delicious. The chicken curry could've been a little hotter, but like may Indian restaurants they probably toned it down for my American taste buds. Our server was very attentive without being annoying. I would recommend this place to any fan of Indian food!
Joseph
Great service...great food...only thing wrong was $10 for glass of house wine
Junniper9
Tandoori chicken served cold. Second visit to India Rasoi Sunday buffet. The chicken tandoori was below room temperature - cold. The entire buffet pan of chicken was cold. The rest of the buffet was lukewarm at best. This is a serious public health issue as hot foods must be served hot and cold foods served cold.
Big Pa
Lunch buffet a flavorful deal. Just order water; $3.75 for a cup of tea is a ripoff.

My Wife's Favorite!. We first at Indian food at India's Rasoi - and were immediately hooked! The atmosphere in the place is appropriate without being too overly themed looking - a very relaxing place to dine.

We usually get the Rasoi feast which includes samplings of various dishes. We even did a birthday there with 3 other couples once and all ordered the feast. Instead of bringing us the regular dishes, the server brought each couple different dishes so that we could all share a sample some different things. There was not one single dish that we did not enjoy!

We love this place and will be back!

Best Indian Food EVER!. We've been wanting to try India's Rasoi for a couple of years now after it was recommended to us by one of my wife's Indian students (thanks Rashni!). It was well worth the wait.

When trying new foods, I appreciate a buffet setting, because if you don't like it, no loss. It all costs the same, so go try something else. At India's Rasoi, however, this turned out not to be a problem.

The dishes with which I was already familiar were by FAR the best I had ever had, particularly the Tandoori chicken (full of rich charcoal smoke flavor with a spicy afternote), the Chicken Tikka Masala (warm, spicy and creamy--I could have licked this sauce off of the plate) and Navratan Korma (vegetables in a rich, buttery cream sauce). The Naan we had was just the plain (though I have heard enough about the garlic cheese variety to make a return trip just for that). It was crisp and buttery--all in all the best naan I have ever eaten.

There were several off-menu items on the buffet as well. My favorites were a Beef Curry (basically an Indian take on the beef stew of my youth), Fish Jalfrazi (FLAMIN' hot with lots of green bell pepper and such complex textures and flavors that I wouldn't have known fish was a part of it had I not been told), and an unusual, but wonderful, tapioca/vermicelli kheer. Pasta in pudding for dessert? Why not? A little odd texturally at first, but the sweet almond-like flavor won me over quickly to the point that texture didn't matter.
All this for $11.95, and I think we were served by no fewer than four friendly waiters. The manager came around to give us his favorite picks (the chicken tikka masala and navratan korma--can't argue!).

As an Anglo, I can't really know this for certain, but because the food at India's Rasoi was so far and above any Indian food that I have had (including House of India), that my impression was that this was what Indian food is supposed to taste like. I'll be back.

Excellent lunch buffet. The fish dish was delicious. I have been here for dinner also. I recommend both.
Anonymous219
Beyond horrid service for overpriced sub-par food. Go to India palace instead. 10 thumbs down.
Mari G.
I just finished lunch and it is a 7 on a scale from 1-10 with 10 being the very best possible score. The food was somewhat tasty, but not near the best in the area. The atmosphere is wonderful, my only problem with the atmosphere is that the tables are to close together. This is a nice place to have a quick lunch. It does have a lunch buffet.
KS
Needs another Dollar Sign. The food and service was very good. It is the best Indian restaurant I have eaten at in St. Louis. However, the prices, especially the final bill was higher than I expected. The entrees vary around $15 or more, and hot tea was $3.50. For a family of four, that is $14 just for tea. We enjoyed the meal, but it is doubtful if we will go back because of the cost.
Daniel Martin
Amazing Indian food, I have eaten at many Indian places and would say this place is now my favorite. Great atmosphere as well

This is the WORST place ever!!!! I was so disappointed. Not even worth a try. I went there last weekend with my family. Thefood was horrible, no taste and extremely salty. The server had no manners. My order of paratha was burned completely and I had to wait 45 mins for my order. The place wasn't busy so i don't why it took that long. Overall, beyond horrible!!!!

Saturday Night Dinner. I have read the other reviews about how bad this place is but I think that this place had Fantastic Service Awesome Food and was a Wonderful dining experience. I think that what makes a great dining experience is attitude, if you go into a restaurant with a bad attitude it shows and the wait staff may not be as friendly due to your attitude. I am not going to say all wait staff are the best but we had the best waiter and best time dining in the Central West End in a while.
Michael Harms
Overpriced for dinner. India Rasoi has good food, and I'm a big fan of their lunch buffet, but they are overpriced for dinner, and we left feeling that we were overcharged for basics such as a plate of rice ($10) and sauce ($5) to go with our Tandoori entrees. Plus the portion sizes of the entrees themselves were dangerously close to being too small. We certainly didn't have any left-overs. Overall, we didn't feel like it was a good value for dinner, although we enjoyed the food itself and the service was attentive.
Chinob
Overpriced and worst Indian food in St. Louis.
Kelly Marshall
The best Indian food in town! I am addicted to the shrimp tikka masala. The atmosphere and service are great.

Disappointed...Very Bad Service. We experienced really bad customer service at this restaurant. We were a group of 8 from Chicago, visiting St. Louis for a day and decided to have dinner at this restaurant. The restaurant staff was very cold and unwelcoming to start with. Not only were they curt, they made us feel unwanted. The waiters served food with not a hint of smile on their faces. When one of us asked for serving spoons for our entrees to one of the waiters, he refused to entertain us saying he was not our waiter. The food was very average and did not compensate for the bad quality of service. When we provided this feedback to the restaurant manager, she became extremely defensive and derogatory. Overall a bad experience..wouldn't recommend this place at all if you're looking for good food and good service..

WORST INDIAN FOOD EVER!!!. Horrible service and food even worse. When i asked to speak to the manager, there was no manager onsight, so i had to wait while the dip stick waiter called his manager to remove the entrees from the bill. He was so angry because i refused to pay for this oversalted crap they put in front of us. Really, we love GOOD indian food but this place does not qualify. Rasoi SUCKS!!!!
Ronnie
Excellent Indian Food and Service.... Excellent food, service and atmosphere. I had the Tiki Marsala with chicken, it was delicious, served with a side of Basmati rice that had great flavor also. I ordered a side of the garlic nan bread, which was also very good. I will definitely be back, soon.

Silly me. Don't know why i put india's rasoi off for so long (nearly three full years) because it's not like they ever get bad reviews. whatever my reasons were, boy, do i feel silly now. ate there tonight and was impressed from minute one. excellent service, decor, and, most important, food. if for no other reason, pay them a visit for the rosemary naan. de-friggin-licious.
Mike Martin
Ok food, ok service, expensive for what you get.

Love the lunch Buffett!

India's Rasoi - The Best. Ok, I do not know what was better... the food or the service. Ahh, it was an even match. FANTASTIC food and FANTASTIC service. I really had no clue about Indian food before I came in but, by time the night was over I was mixing different sauces together, mixing the wonderful meats and breads and rice even recommended wine. Ok you get my point. Delicious! I will be back in a heart beat.

Please take someone with you. The memory I made with someone I have just met was all done sitting at one of Rasoi's perfectly lit table's. Go , go, go. Stop reading the reviews.
Scott
Great Sunday Buffet. I went there for the first time on a Sunday afternoon and I must say I was very impressed. I loved the decor and feel of the place. But the food, now that was even better. On Sunday they had a buffet which was nothing short of fantastic. There was a wide variety of Indian food for you to try. And during the week they have a great menu for you to choose from as well. Anyone who likes Indian food should definitely go here. I highly recommend India's Rasoi.

Love, Love, Love this place. Probably the best Chicken Tikka marsala I have ever had in my life.
LOVE THIS PLACE!
definitely going back soon!

Good food.. horrible service. Reached there at 8.50pm during memorial day weekend. Saw a couple walk out complaining that they were not served after almost an hour's wait. We were a party of four.

The server showed up and seated us and said, we had 10 minutes to order before the kitchen closed. he hurried us through our order and then we had to wait for 45 minutes before anything showed up !

By the time we got our food.. we were so hungry that everything felt good :)

Terrible service, but decent food..
Becky Donahue
Good food, not great. Service was bad and really slow.

Worst Indian Food!!!!!!. I tried it earleir this month whentravelling to St. Louis. Usually have been to many Indian restaurants overall and had "Navratan Korma", 'Paneer Tikka and as usuaal he favorite Naan...and all 3 were below par in quality.

The for steep high price, the food was awful...Would not recommend at all....

Went Last weekend for lunch. Best Indian I've had in St. Louis, reasonably priced, and good fresh quality buffet. The place is also clean and the decor is nice. Great place!
Lynelle P
This is a Lovely restaurant. It accommodated our party (three adults and two children, 2 & 4) nicely for an early dinner. The server, Marvin was great with recommendations and knowledgeable of ingredients in the dishes. We have a dairy allergy and we ordered the Lobster Dosa, Calcutta Fish & Chips, Kachumber salad, Salmon Pondicherry, and the Paratha with Spinach. The food was delicious, especially the entree and bread.
DS
Amazing. Lovely ambiance and awesome food. Will definitely visit again
Dan Burton
Horrid Service. Like everyone says, great food, horrid service. Go there for the lunch buffet if at all, and still be prepared to be ignored while waiting to be seated.
Skippyjon
Super ambiance. I work nearby and I must say I really enjoy the newer digs in the CWE. I love the shimmering tile and the deep purple ceiling. I don't eat out lunch to often, but I really enjoy their buffet. Service is spotty as I regularly require more water and a drink refill. Sometimes they seem a bit slow about refilling basics on the buffet like naan. But it is definitely a great lunch outing & I never decline the opportunity to eat there!

Taste for Indian? must try Rasoi!. India Rasoi is one of the best Indian restaurants in St Louis. Food is fresh and very testy. Their newly remodeled location is beautiful and cozy. My favorites are chicken masala, tandori and curry. The garlic Nan is also very good and the rice pudding for dessert is delicious. They also have Taj Majal beer which not all Indian restaurants in town have it. Their service is excellent and friendly. Best time to go is at lunch for their buffet, you will get the best for your money and the variety of food is good. Dinner could be a bit high but since the food is so good you will not regret it. India Rasoi is the best choice when it comes to Indian cuisine
Mike Wallace
Don't even try it. The worst food and worst service ever . waiter don't seem to take about customer we sat there for 15 min before some one came ask for drink . food was worst then service
Look4light
Pretty Average. The first time I went to the restaurant I found the food to be pretty ordinary and the service was pathetic. But being a lover of good indian food I tried couple more times but it was pretty much the same story. The only thing positive about this restaurant is the decor and it's bit pricey too for a mediocre quality food.
Mike S
Try something else. We went there for lunch . for buffet . we wasn't happy with choices . choice were limited to just 3 dishes .food was ok wasn't bad or good either and services wasn't good either waiter didn't seem to care . after they sat us down on table . and never came back to our table we had called them for even water .. overall bad experience try another indian restaurant in town there are bunch of em

so stay away from this crapy restaurant
Su
Tasty food, nice lunch buffet. I'm from different city and visited this restaurant for lunch. It was really good, havnt had such soft naan at many places.
Ratatouille In St. Louie
Great Decor, Good Food, A Bit Pricey. India's Rasoi is beautifully decorated with colorful draped fabrics, brightly painted walls, and interesting accents. The service is decent, and the food is yummy and well-prepared (and lots of vegetarian options are offered). For Indian, though, it's a bit pricey - I think the food's a bit more expensive to help pay for the attractive decor and the prime location. Overall, I'd eat here again, but it would not be my first choice.

Great lunch buffet. Great price for a great lunch buffet and service.
Jdavis240
Excellent. We had the buffet on a Saturday. The food was kept very hot on the buffet, the service was excellent, the coffee was perfect and the food was some of the best Indian we have ever had.
Barry Bean
Outstanding! Try the Calcutta cooler!
Jessica Roussin
Lunch Buffet. I have only been there during the lunch buffet, and the food is great. It is a good deal. The service however is usually terrible. Yes, I know it is a buffet, but we will often eat most of our meal before we ever get drinks or even water served to us. Rarely will you get a refill if you run out. The staff seems to have an attitude like I interrupted their day. I do not know about dinner service, it might be better. I still go back because the food is worth it, but I never expect much when it comes to the customer service.
KLB
Excellent! Authentic, saw many Indian people dining there also. Lamb Vindaloo was excellent and the tikka masala was also very flavorful. The naan was fresh baked on a Tuesday night.
Michele Landeau
Great decor and a huge menu. I have never been disappointed with Rasoi.
Anithakollace
Better option. Iam very proud to be an indian and the food you find here will never be seen(find) any other place around the world so tasty and cheap and one can satisfy for their spending money

International Flavor in Central Location. My wife and I enjoy sampling food from international cultures. Our first visit to Rasoi was an informal dinner with friends. Several months later we found ourselves talking about how much we enjoyed the food, ambiance, and excellent service every time we drove past the street. After our latest visit, we have moved Rasoi into our top 5 favorite resturants in STL.
Vegstlouis
the rosemary naan was a revelation. why don't all indian restaurants serve this?! it was superb--spongy and crispy, herbacious and smooth. it was the perfect dipping, sopping, scooping vehicle for wiping all our dishes clean.

...The batter was so crunchy and dense that it made for difficult knife-and-forking, but it was tasty, and so were the fries and sauce,
