We were at Lady's Elegant Tea Shoppe for my goddaughter's seventh birthday yesterday. I love this place. LOVE. This little tucked away treasure (almost hidden in a charming little courtyard behind Muffuletta's) has been part of our family's lives for years now. Let me just say that if you want to step out of the frantic world for an afternoon and into a little kingdom of peace, this is your place. Girly, girly, girly, for sure, although while we were there a husband and wife came in to enjoy a high tea. It was so sweet to watch them looking out the window at the little courtyard and talking. Okay, back to our birthday. The menus of tea to choose from are vast. Allow me to recommend bubblegum tea for the little girls and wedding tea for the mommies. We walked in and the place smelled like fresh baked scones. I had called ahead to say that one of our party (me) was gluten free. They had perfectly blanched asparagus wrapped in ham and what I'm pretty sure was Udi's white bread sandwiches for me, and an AMAZING gluten-free scone and little ginger cookies. The girls wore hats from the back wall. We took pictures. We drank tea and asked birthday girl questions (if you could be any animal, what would you be and why), and had a fabulous time. Lady's Elegant is one of my favorite places to hide away from the world and enjoy a peaceful moment of feminine. If you haven't been, go. You'll feel like Lady Grantham and your daughter will feel like a princess.
The food was good, the atmosphere was quaint and the service was fantastic. I found a cute ladybug tea pot in the shop and found myself so enchanted that I bought it. I definitely recommend the experience.
It is a beautiful, fun, elegant place that gives off a wonderful ambiance. I love getting dressed up and going with the ladies in my family for a day of tea. Every time I go there is wonderful service and great memories are made. It is a great tea room with delicious food and a wonderful verity of tea to choose from.

This is my new favorite place! Loved everything - and that's saying a lot since I'm a gluten-free eater. Will be back again and again! <3
Super cute and fun! Great owners were awesome with the party we had.
Wonderful time with 13 family members....4 generations for a Sweet 16 birthday party. Food was tasty, lots of tea selections to choose from. The owner was very accommodating with such a large group and with special requests for gluten-free and food allergy related guests. Will definitely go there again!
My friend and I had a lovely afternoon here. She is gluten free and they accommodated her with a complete and different menu that she said was delicious. The scones were huge and very good. The selection of teas was extensive. We both had trouble deciding which tea to order. Overall, an excellent experience, and service was attentive, but unobtrusive.
Took my mom here for the Parlor Tea, and we absolutely loved it. We were overstuffed, and took home leftovers, but it was all excellent. Very welcoming environment, and the selection of teas for Tea were outstanding. I'll have to return regularly just to work my way through them. All teas and many other fun things are available through their gift shop as well, so you can enjoy at home as well. So far my favorite tea is the Buckingham Palace Garden Party.
I have been to the Mad Hatter and Maude's tea rooms and been very disappointed. The food has been mediocre if not frozen and thawed with a lack of large selection of teas. Not to mention MONTHS waiting to get in for a reservation at Maudes. This tearoom is the best of the best. I know people have commented on it not being open. All I did was read their website and called and left a message. My call was returned promptly in a friendly manner and I had no problem at all. Their hours and days open are on the website- NO PROBLEM. It has a wonderful tea selection. It is quiet and and a warm inviting atmosphere. The food is fresh and delicious. I am half English and always expect the BLAND English fare with cucumber sandwiches etc etc. NOT HERE. To start off the Potato Thyme soup of the month was spiced and full of wonderful flavors. The sandwiches were an egg salad on dark rye giving it depth. The wrap was a broccoli, carrot, bacon and raisin blend that married beautifully. The currant studded scones were so fresh and served with Devonshire cream (not fake stuff or butter) and a REAL homemade lemon curd. I haven't even gotten to the desserts yet. All four were fresh and moist and full of flavor from the brownie, Madeline, strawberry cake and the soft shortbread with a dollop of soft (not some hard candy kiss) of chocolate on top.
I love this area of St.Paul too. Come and enjoy!
