I have eaten all over the world at some of the best renowned restaurants. I have to say that Rafns' quality and obvious passion for their food, meets and surpass some of the top restaurants out there.
What a wonderful experience! Both my son and I can’t have dairy or gluten and our waitress was well versed in how to help us choose items on the menu to accommodate our dietary needs. The food was amazing, great staff, atmosphere, etc. we will be back for sure

Thank you to all the staff at Rafn's for another amazing dinner for my association. This group dinner had attendees from all over the state (and one mid-westerner) and the ones that had been before were excited about coming back and the newbies discovered what a gem this restaurant is. Your food and service are always above and beyond and what a special treat to be able to have the whole venue just to ourselves. Thank you for what you do and the manner in which you do it. Hands down my favorite restaurant for a date night, Absolutely love the chicken dish they have and their risotto is the best I've ever tasted. Cant wait to go back!!

We were only in town couple nights and had never eaten in Salem before. Soooo so glad we found this place, no disappointment's here! Everything from the Soup of the day to the Chocolate dessert was absolutely fantastic, including the service. We like to see Seasonal, Organic and Local becoming more and more popular. It exactly how food should be.

Best meal I've had in a while! Great combination of flavors and I know it's fresh and wholesome because it tastes that way! Rochelle is so kind and friendly and Nate came out to personally ask how we enjoyed our meal. Such a local gem in our Salem community!
Did not disappoint. We will go back. Service great. Nice selection with unique entrees, exquisite.
I'm so glad I finally got to try this out! The salad had the absolute perfect amount of dressing on it and the fresh ground pepper really added to it. If you sold your dressing by the bottle I would gladly buy some. The poached chicken was so full of flavor and the sauce was creamy and savory. The risotto had just a hint of bitterness that let you know it's made with actual parmigiano reggiano, not a cheap imitation. To top it all off you served Martinelli's in a champagne flute, the same way I drink it at home! I can't wait to come back. Also, tell Madeline(sp? I hope I heard and spelled her name correctly) that the ice cream was delicious.
Have eaten lunch a couple of times and loved it! No complaints. Dinner is the best. Have had several birthday dinners there with family and everyone in our party loved every bite, including my picky granddaughter who loved, loved, loved the duck! We always have an appetizer, and dessert. Rochelle and Nate the owners stop by our table and chat with us. We are into eating locally so alway ask where our dinners came from.
Serving staff is always attentive and knowledgable about the menu. Quick to clear the table between courses and refilling our drinks. I highly recommend this for locals as well as those out of town folks looking for high end foods.
Awesome, local fare. I miss their sandwiches but the seasonal menu is otherwise wonderful. Check it out for lunch!! A bit small so call ahead for big parties.
Lunch today. Called in an order today for six sandwiches. Their professionalism and friendliness was beyond reproach. The quality of the food matched the customer service. I've had the excellent grocery items here before, but not the prepared food. I will be a regular from this day on. This place rocks.
Superb!. Beautiful blend of flavors and best of all, gluten and diary free pastrami sandwich. Love the modern/elegant feel of the place, along with wonderful local high quality food findings. What a wonderful addition to downtown!

I must start by saying how incredibly wonderful this couple is! A team devoted to each other, their restaurant, and the pledge to provide our community with local and organic fuel for our bodies. I am also writing this review as a fellow server, and daughter of a small restaurant owner. My sister and I had a friend visiting from Las Vegas this week, and by recommendation, we decided to drop into Rafns' for lunch while downtown. We were greeted with open arms and were provided with extensive information on all the products/menu items. We ordered the gourmet sandwiches, homemade corn and bean salad and the local chanterelle mushroom soup.....all were beyond amazing! The ingredients were full of flavor, presentation was precise and Rochelle treated us like family while she served our lunch. The seating arrangement is family-dining style, with one enormous and beautifully crafted wooden farm table in the middle of the room (under a breath talking crystal chandelier of course!) What a way to meet new people and get personal with your fellow community members! They both answered all of our questions, and even gave us samples of local honey to help solidify our preferences before we made a purchase. Nate and Rochelle are a couple with a passion for health, food and serving others. Their gorgeous space and impressive grocery options prove that the second you walk through the door of Rafns'. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to anyone, whether you're picking out food to cook at home, or are in the mood for a sit down dining experience. Two thumbs up!
Great Food and Good Company. My son and I went to Rafns' for the first time today. The old Quiznos really got a nice makeover and we love the long dining table where everyone sits together. We had a great conversation with a couple seated next to us. My son got the local grass-fed roast beef sandwich and I got the cranberry walnut salad. Both were well prepared and delicious. They sweat the details here, like offering self-service ice water with and without ice. Very thoughtful. You'll pay a bit more for a salad or sandwich at Rafns', but it's worth it for the quality of the ingredients and the preparation. We will definitely be back. We recommend you try Rafns' for lunch soon.
We took advantage of their curb service tonight and are so glad we did! We dove into dinner right when we got home. It was at our kitchen table, so not the wonderful ambiance of Rafn's. That being said, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We felt pampered and nourished by our wonderful meal. recommend

The server was helpful and charismatic and everything felt extremely special.
The food was exquisite. The portions weren't large, but they weren't small either. A full course left a very satisfying feeling.
A little pricey, but not really that bad at all, and the food and drinks were well worth it.

Took my family out for dinner. With an 85 year old grandma who hates to spend money she was able to find something she really enjoyed. She got the Mac n cheese and ate the whole thing! We had fish stew, lamb meatballs, and the beef shoulder. Everything was amazing. The portions were decent but tasted so good we all wanted more. The cocktails were also amazing. We ordered dessert the vanilla parfait, bread pudding, and gf cherry cheesecake. The cheesecake was disappointing as it didn’t have a crust and was super thin. Overall it was a great meal and would go back again.
Had a lovely dinner for a special occasion. The food and wine were perfect. The service was very attentive. The place had an elegance I'd not see elsewhere in the city. A very special place indeed. Service was great. We'll be back soon. I highly recommended this place.
We are mostly vegetarians so the selection was a bit limited but the server was very knowledgeable about the food and was able to ask the chef to leave out chicken broth in the recipe so we could have it. The desert was one of the best I have ever eaten, a cream cheese tart with a blackberry port reduction and candied walnuts. Price was a bit higher than some restaurants but the quality of the food and the fresh local ingredients made it a good value.
Both main dishes came with a choice of salad or soup, but our waiter automatically discounted our salad and used it as our choice when we would have added the soup had he not made the decision for us. The prices are extremely high for the amount of food you get, however it is very good. It would be nice if there was a slightly bigger menu to choose from.Not the place to come if you're hungry unless you got deep pockets lol, but if you want very tasty unique food it's spot on!
At the entrance of the restaurant, there is a beautiful cut glass chandelier and a vase of fresh flowers. We were seated quickly, without reservations, on a Tuesday evening. Our server was knowledgeable and pleasant without being obtrusive. She provided an accurate description of the wine choices and asked if we had any dietary restrictions. When I mentioned that my spouse doesn't eat red meat, she immediately informed us that a dish with chorizo listed as an ingredient could be altered. The food was excellent, well-seasoned, but allowing the natural flavors of the seafood to prevail. Locally sourced ingredients were prominent. For dessert, I recommend the bread pudding with caramel sauce and the chocolate pie. Both are served with a dollop of fresh whipped cream.
