Yeah. It’s a diner. But this place is damn tasty. The bacon 🥓 is definitely delicious with a little smoked flavor. The pancakes 🥞 fluffy and tasty. This is definitely worth the calories and the stop. Ruth’s Diner is a huge winner. 🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞 Five Pancake Award for flavor and taste. And the biscuit on the table as we are seated - get the biscuit and put the honey sauce on that biscuit!
We love it here! We got here on a Sunday morning around 10am and we got lucky that it was just a 10 minutes wait for us to get seated at the patio outside. Their patio is just perfect for a weekend hang out, where the garden/patio is equipped with heaters and shades. Not only we will give a five to the environment, but also the service and the food. Super nice and friendly staffs and a wide range of breakfast items to choose from. We absolutely love the biscuits that is complimentary to every order, fresh, crispy on the outside and soft in the inside! The pancake and bacon, as well as the steak and eggs we ordered are also superb! They even got live music performance going on. Strongly recommend you check this place out if you have not yet been there!

Yesterday was such a beautiful day. We went for a ride in the Salt Lake City cemetery. Afterward, we decided to go to dinner at Ruth's diner and sit out in the mountainous patio. It was slightly cool, but it was sure nice to sit out in the mountain area. My friend ordered the vegetarian Sandwich and I had the pork chop. It was super fabulous! My pork chop was tender, cooked perfectly with a white sauce and mushrooms. The vegetables that accompanied it were lightly seasoned and delicious. The red potatoes that came with it were cooked thoroughly and were delightful. My friend said his French fries were cooked to perfection. Ruths diner is good for brunch, lunch, and dinner. In my opinion, Very family friendly.
Great place. Love the outdoors patio seating. Wonderful food cannot go wrong with any item. Did not have the hamburger, but it must be good because every table I say someone was eating one. Sirloin and shrimp was tremendously good. Wife had pot roast and mashed potatoes. Excellent service. Weekend entertainment was a great touch to a great night.
Ruth’s is always great. Have yet to have a bad experience.
We’ve come for breakfast in the past — which is great. Awesome biscuits with every meal. And of course Ruth’s famous outdoor seating, canyon views, and ambiance.
But this last time we came up for dinner. It was a first for both of us.
I ordered the Ruth’s Deluxe Pork Burger, and she got the Aussie Burger - a house favorite.
Both burgers were huge and quite messy — but in a tasty way.
The pork burger had a ton of flavor. Quite delicious. I’d get it again if I were in the mood, but you gotta be in the mood. I feel the same way about sausage, bratwursts, or some other highly seasoned and ground meat. But if you’re in the mood, it’s very good.
The Aussie burger was kind of plain. You could taste the condiments more than you could taste the patty, which made the burger feel kind of bland.
The fries were a great side. The old-fashioned double fried kind. We also got a side of pinto beans, and I was surprised by how much flavor they had. As far as pinto beans go, they are pretty dang nice.
Our server was very personable and kind — something we’ve noticed to be consistent across our visits.
If you’ve never been to Ruth’s you need to make a visit. It’s been able to stand the test of time for a good reason.
1st time patrons…. Friday , late lunch 2:30pm. Outside seating was perfect— Fall view & weather comfortable, they have patio heaters. Service and food were excellent. History on the menu was appreciated! Glad this business is still in operation ! Will be returning.
Food was good. Wife & I had the pot roast. Had a very good home style taste and feel to it. Which was welcomed.
We sat outside. It was wonderful, live music and good atmosphere. My whole family enjoyed it. Our server had a good personality about her as well. Thanks.
Only thing that wasn’t that good was The gluten free bread for my mother. Not blaming the restaurant because it’s always hard to find good gluten free bread.
You're greeted with incredible biscuits—soft, flavorful, and freshly baked. Tried their weekly special quiche, simply delicious and the Chicken Fried Steak Benedict: English muffin, well seasoned chicken fried steak, sausage gravy, perfectly poached eggs, and house hollandaise. As an eggs Benedict enthusiast, this tops my list. Great service, highly recommend their coffee and cider. Can't wait to go back!
Loved the pretty and lush outdoor seating in the garden and the 1930s dining car. Our entrees were seasoned very well. The quinoa and cauliflower tacos had a great flavor. The ribeye breakfast special was cooked to a perfect medium rare and outstanding creole spice, but there were a few grizzly pieces that could not be chewed. The biscuits were only about a half mile and had a taste of shortening not butter. I don’t care for that taste. Great service and expansive menu. I would definitely be back and get the bacon—it was cooked to perfection when I saw it on many other tables.
Amazing history here. Ruth's is a classic in the Valley. Atmosphere is great, food is good if you know what to get... Salmon, fried pickles, Eric's chicken, and you must get the chocolate malt pudding. One of kind. Worth the drive up the canyon just for the pudding.
