Excellent experience for meat lovers
After discovering that restaurants in SLC can be a bit hit and miss, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality here!
The interior doesn't particularly give the "churrascaria" vibe, but once the meat was on the plate it was all forgotten.
Chicken and prawns were grilled to perfection and the beef tenderloin wasn't far behind.
Paired with some excellent sides from the salad bar, this was a satisfying total package complemented by the service of the staff.
I've noticed some of the reviews found it a bit expensive, but I'd say it's actually underpriced compared to what you were getting. If this had been in NY, it would have been significantly more expensive and pompous.
I hope they'll manage to keep this level in case I ever find my way back here.
Excellent. Beautiful venue. Great for celebration. Plus they validate. The grilled menu is good. I find theres a bit too much protein. The salad bar isn't the best. Its great place to go for dinner in downtown slc.
I am going to simply ignore the high price tag on this meal in my rating. Should you plan on $50+ a person - yes! Is it an awesome date with incredible food - you are darn right! Try to sign up for their email deals if you want to save a little room in your pocket - that is if you can resist the desire to stuff their meat in every hole and pocket... Pardon my humor - it is really good food! The deserts are also top notch... and top price. The drink my wife ordered should have had free refills considering it was non-alcoholic and $10, but I will let it slide as I ate a glutinous amount of meat.
Very very good variety. Meats were cooked very well. Great service. We always try to find a Brazilian Steakhouse when on vacation. Texas de Brazil is always a top choice. Great salad bar. Lots of meat.
We loved it.
Oh please!!!!. Don't come here complaining about how it's too expensive and then diss the food. This place is far and away better than Rodizio. You can tell they care about the details at Texas de Brazil from the food to the service (which we had the very best server in our dining experience thus far). The salad bar is kept cleaner, cooler and much fresher. The meats are prepared impeccably- we were dying over each piece instead of just nibbling on them and setting them aside like at Rodizio. So don't come here if you're a tight-ass; come here if you like a beautiful ambience, incredible service and outstanding food.
Best Brazilian Place...meat wise. I've been to several other Brazilian restaurants in the SLC area, and I was quite skeptical to try this one because of the price. I got onto their email program and got enough of a discount to make me want to give it a try. They are pricey even with the discount. It was worth my once a year fancy restaurant visit though.
The meat was noticeably better than the other Brazilian restaurants in SLC. The meat was perfectly seasoned, without being too salty. The servers were very prompt and asked what meats we wanted more of. They also asked us how we wanted the meet to be cooked. I never got that at the other Brazilian places. The filet wrapped in bacon was amazing! It's like a party in your mouth.
The salad bar was smaller than Tucanos, but the rice and beans were spot on, and that's what matters for true Brazilian restaurants. Make sure the server brings out the fried/sugared bananas, because...WOW they were amazing! They are not at the salad bar, they are only brought out by the server when they feel like doing it. Our server was a little slow with it. Ask for them.
I will definitely give it another try!
Best dining experience in SLC. No kidding! Price reflects the food quality; the ambience is top notch. If they could turn down the music just a hair it would be perfect. I haven't had lamb chops in more than 15 years because I would only order them from a reputable place. What a way to end a looooong wait! Also, I have to say that any restaurant that offers prosciutto and smoked salmon at the salad bar is bound to please you. And did I mention that the lobster bisque is to die for? Don't bring picky eaters here (because of the price point). I'm glad we went here instead of Benihana.
Good Food but Worth the Price?. I've eaten my fair share of Brazilian churrascaria style meats (including actually in Brazil) so I have a pretty strong opinion on what's good and what isn't. Texas de Brazil is good food, expensive prices, great service, and fancy atmosphere.
Our server tried to explain to us how their meats were better than other Brazilian restaurants almost as if he was trying to justify the prices (even though we hadn't said anything to indicate we were balking at the prices). Sure, you can buy better cuts of meat. Fresher cuts. Prepare them a little better. But in the end, it's a churrascaria and you are going to eat so much meat that you don't clearly remember the flavor of 1 meat vs the other. It's like Thanksgiving but meat after meat upon meat.
Yes, they have a salad bar if you're so inclined, although I would rank it as subpar compared to Tucano's. But I only get a little rice, beans, and a couple vegetables when I go here. I guess I just feel like getting my money's worth of meat. If I want salad, I'll go to Zupas.
Lucky us we had a Groupon to drop the price in half, but I still felt like we paid too much. The drink sizes and refills (lack of) are disheartening for how much you pay. The key lime pie was ok (not the best key lime pie I've had), but after eating a full meal of meat, we couldn't finish it anyway.
Many of the meat servers are actually Brazilian so you get a feel of authenticity talking with them (especially if you know any Portuguese). The whole staff was very friendly and the decoration/lighting/expansive rooms make this restaurant feel classy. But I still think I would prefer walking a couple blocks to the Gateway and eating at Tucano's where you get quality meats, better salad bar, and better prices (although you will probably have a longer wait time to get in on a weekend).
A bit of everything. It is nice sometimes to have a little bit of many different things. Here's a place to do that with many choices of both salad/appetizers and meat (so long as it's grilled/roasted). Quality of ingredients seemed high. Only drawback of this system is that some meat is lukewarm but given the simple presentation that is acceptable in a way that an entree in a sauce would not be.
Attentive and professional service. Attractive room. Surprisingly busy on a Monday night.
We used a Groupon, the usual price of about $43 seems a shade high but not unreasonable for what you get. Least expensive wines by the glass about $9 .
Amaaaaaaaaaazing!!!! I was waiting forever for this place to open here in utah as i am from miami and they have one there. Service was great and the manager was very attentive. Quiet, romantic great meat and salad bar. And you get a free meal on your birthday, has a ridiculous amount of wine to choose from. Highly recommended
First of all I've read the past reviews and I can tell they were written by the owners or management of other Brazilian steak houses that are local. maybe there scared? I would be. I was having a Steak craving and I thought my wife and I would give this spot a try. As you walk in there is a beautiful atmosphere that awaits you. Very warm and inviting. The service was outstanding from start to finish. They have a serious attention to detail when it comes to there service. The GM's run this restaurant like a annoying micro-managed office that every waiter and waitress dred. But that just means service will be excellent. I just feel bad for the wait staff. The meats were excellent. Filet Migon, leg of lamb, lamb chops, etc. the Salad Bar was impressive. Clean, well presented! And they really had quality that you'd find at a very high end restaurant. And no annoying birthday song in fake Portuguese! This is a winner for me. Your going to pay more but the service and quality of the food reflects the price. So if your willing to pay that extra $! I would go... This is the best Brazilian steak house in Utah...sorry Rodizio! You got outclassed tonight! I recommend you go! I know I'll be back.
Worth it!. My husband and I have dined at Texas de Brazil in Miami before so we were ecstatic to hear of them coming to Salt Lake. While it costs a little more than the other Brazilian steakhouses in the Salt Lake area, it is definitely worth it. The staff is amazing and the food even better. The garlic sirloin is a must!
Amazing!!. The selection of meats here are outstanding and the service is as well. The deserts are just as great as well. If you like anything about Tucanos or Rodizzio - this is the major league of those places...insane the quality they have there and attention to detail.
Texas de Brazil stands alone with their restaurant from the building, to the service, to the quality of their food.
Very tasty food, but definitely on the pricier side. The salad bar smoked salmon was amazing and the salad bar may be worth it just for that. Great service. Make sure you understand what a Brazilian buffet is by having it explained until you understand it, or read up on it.
Dining at Texas De Brazil was a great experience. The salad bar and the meat here are a quality far beyond any other churrasco style restaurants in town. The service was even better than the food as the staff here really does care that everyone has a great experience. Dinner with a drink is about $50 per person. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you're looking to impress guests or clients or for celebrating something special like an anniversary.
My wife and I decided to visit here after recommendations from friends. We reserved a table over lunch on Valentine’s Day in order to avoid the evening chaos the exists at most venues.. Our first impression was not great since we walk in from the front entrance at City Creek Mall, we where promptly ignored by all servers until we flagged an employee down, much like an air traffic assistant flagging down a plane at the airport... We were then briefly reprimanded for using the wrong entrance and directed to the hostess, who confirmed our booking and showed us our table. The second chapter of our visit was superb as Kyle our server and the entourage of “meat slicers” were friendly and professional! The skewered Sirloin was world class, the salad station was fresh and the Lobster Bisque was on point👌.. Overall a pleasant Valentines dining experience for the Missus and I.. Good save, Obrigado!
We loved our experience here at Texas De Brazil. The atmosphere is beautiful and romantic and the food is superb! Our server was fantastic and brought us a dipping sauce to try. She was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions about the food well. I love that they refold our napkins each time we left the table!! Such a small gesture that made our dining experience special.
Yummy meat, great service, and phenomenal salad bar. They were very gracious even with bringing our baby with us(they do not have car seat cradles). The lamb chops were the family favorite and the rib was also on point. Great place to come for a birthday, anniversary, or any other special occasion... even if you need to make one up to come ;)
Brought my boyfriend for his birthday and it was great! Different kinds of meats, all were so good. Salad bar was also great, th grey had pastas, soup, and ceviche. If that ur not a meat person just opt out of the full price and get just the salad bar price. Waiter was nice and friendly. Overall great experience, good price.
Amazing! Went here with my family (10 people all together, 3 were kids 12-9yrs old) to celebrate my older brothers graduation from medical school and they were VERY accommodating! The food was wonderful and the salad bar had lots of yummy options to choose from that everyone could enjoy, even the kids enjoyed it! The dessert menu was so delicious! We got 3 to share between us and my favorite was the passion fruit mousse! It was so rich, creamy, and smooth like butter! I would go back just for that alone! After we were done eating the wonderful food we stayed to visit and ended up staying almost 2 hours! We didn’t feel rushed to get out which was the best part! They let us sit and talk and the waiter came to check on us often to see if we needed anything during that time. This place was top notch when it came to service, cleanliness, and awesome food (gluten free options as well!) by far our new favorite Brazil restaurant, we appreciate the staff for great service and food and helping our family celebrate a big family moment!
Salad bar was better than the other Brazilian meat restaurants around; however the meat service was slow. It could be because we had a huge event here. The lobster bisque was way too good, like way too good. The rice and beans were prepared well, and the coconut curry was delicious. I will come back again with a smaller group to enjoy the meat.
Truly an excellent dining experience!! The staff was amazing, the food was out of this world!! Kyle is the best server in the world! As weird as it sounds I also reccomend the spring water. Will come back and will reccomend to everyone I know.
Absolutely some the best churrasco (Brazilian barbecue) I’ve had in the United States. Their meat was delicious and the sides were really great as well. This restaurant is definitely a more sophisticated vibe and is about double the price of any other churrascaria. The food was definitely worth the price, but the wait staff was not the best. They weren’t very attentive to us, but the meat servers were good. Overall, i would recommend this restaurant to someone looking for authentic Brazilian churrasco, but beware the high price and probably irritable staff.
Just awesome all the time!
We feel so VIP when we come here! Ciro, Natália and everyone treat us so well!
They always ask if we have a meat preference and keep bringing it!
Fried bananas are to die for!
And I have to say the rice made by Lily is the best rice i ever had! So fluff and delicious!
Don’t forget to ask for strawberry or papaya cream with cassis liqueur, I know is a lot of food, but I promise you will eat with your eyes closed!
Omg, 5 stars aren't enough. This place is wonderful, kickass would probably best describe it. The food, the staff. It's more of an experience then a meal.
The food was amazing!! I highly recommend the key lime pie for dessert....if you can still eat after dinner.
Fantastic meat! Loved every meat they would walk around. Always cooked to delicious perfection! The staff is great and nice. Their bar is a great place to get a drink and just hang out. I hate salad bars but these guys are the exception! They have a great choice of different pastas, meats, and cheeses. Great for a date night or a company dinner!
Service is the best part about this restaurant. Hostess was extremely friendly and got us a seat immediately even though we were about 30 minutes early for our reservation. Waiter was also friendly and checked up on us regularly.
The food itself is always good here as well. Salad bar is the better than all the other Brazilian steakhouses. Selection is a lot smaller but quality is great. Meat is all very flavorful and cooked to perfect medium rare. I am a little disappointed that they don't do grilled pineapple anymore and it is just served cold in the salad bar. Other than that, this place is miles above it's competitors.
The meat was so delicious. Very high end. Exspensive, but every bite was worth it. Try the lamb.
