This place is awesome and authentic. The broth for the Pho is so rich in flavor. All the vegetables and meat are fresh. The Pho is some of the best Pho in Utah. I have also eaten the sweet and sour pork and it was excellent. Everything we have eaten here has been very good.
My go-to place, be aware of the one hour break. I tried pho for the first time in Columbus. When I learned I was moving to Utah, I set off in search of a replacement pho restaurant. I went to 6 restaurants before I found Pho Tay Ho. This is the best pho in Salt Lake, and it's a family business you can feel good about supporting. The menu is pretty limited, with only pho, drinks, and appetizers. It's never bothered me, though, the pho is all you want. I recommend the egg rolls- freshest I've ever had.
My only complaint is that they don't refill drinks frequently enough. You're often on your own after the first glass. Also, newcomers may have difficulty finding the place. It's a small house on the corner with an even smaller sign. It doesn't look like a business. It's on the west side of the street. Drive slowly and look carefully or you'll pass it by. The restaurant is closed from 4:00-5:00 every evening.
The best pho in town and great service.
Since moving here I've tried phi at many different places, but this by far is the best! The steak and meatball pho is excellent, and the large bowl is a huge portion for the price. I will definitely be coming back regularly.
Very good, the vegetarian pho is excellent!
Best pho in the valley. Ever since I discovered Pho Tay Ho, I make a point to go at least once per show (I work in theatre) and I am NEVER disappointed! The broth is rich but not overpowering or too greasy, the serving sizes are amazingly generous, and they actually cook their meat additions properly. The rare steak comes out rare, but the tendon is soft and tender.
And their chanh muoi is top-notch!
The only thing that makes me sad is that I don't live closer.
The large is LARGE!. Pho Tay Ho has amazing broth. Be warned, the large is VERY large! I couldn't finish it.

Yummy pho. Perfect place to stop when it's cold out for a big steaming bowl of pho. Great broth and noodles and very reasonable prices.
Huge portion, good price, best pho in Salt lake!
And say hi to the grandma in the back doing all the cooking. It's always a plus when you get to see the people cooking your food for you.
Pho King Good. We literally almost drove past this little gem. Tucked in a converted bungalo, this quaint little restaurant delivered on all fronts. A one hit wonder, they know how to do pho right. I measure a good pho establishment by the quality of the broth foremost, then the quality of the beef, and finally having the right condiments. The broth was full bodied and the flavors came out in the right order; beef savory flavor, a hint of anise, cinnamon and a slightly sweet taste. The broth glistened with tallow, which is what a good bowl of pho is supposed to be like. Next, the beef came out rare. I find this to be very "rare" in the pho industry. Most often, the beef has sat in the kitchen a few seconds too long and does not hit the table in a beautiful pink medium rare hue. The bo vien meatballs had the dense almost spongy but melt in your mouth texture with a rich savory goodness to boot. Finally, they had all the right condiments for good pho: sprouts, sliced chilies, limes and thai basil of course, and naturally sriracha in the commercial bottle, hoisin in a squeeze bottle, but they also had REAL chili oil, and fish sauce. I usually don't do fish sauce, but the chili oil was a nice touch. Most places don't have chili oil in their proper oily form... I ate at a pho place a few days ago that gave me chili oil, but it was flakes in a light smattering of oil, not chili oil. Rice noodles are pretty hard to do bad, which is why I never judge a pho-staurant by their noodles. Needless to say, these noodles were cooked properly and cut to the right size; small to medium thickness.
For me, the service can be terrible but as long as the pho is great I don't really care. In the case of Pho Tay Ho, the service was just fine. The hostess seated us, took our order, brought our food, and left us to eat it. I really don't like to be bothered too much when eating like at a chain. If you see my diet coke getting low, just fill it up and leave me alone. I ordered a specialty drink, "salty lemonade" so there wasn't refills anyway. So it really was perfect. At 5:15 (we went right after work) the place was empty-- ours for the taking. At 6 a horde of pho-feeding food zombies lumbered to the restaurant-- the dinner rush.
The salty lemonade was amazing. Literally talking angel's tears here people. You get this punch of sour, then salty and then sweet in the same sip. It was the coolest thing I've ever drank. They say its an acquired taste, and I had already acquired it. I'll be honest. It looked terrible. It literally looks like wilty decroded lemons in ice water, but don't let its simple looks fool you. I'd suggest drinking by pulling your straw up above the preserved lemon to avoid sucking in the pulp.
I'm a big fan of hole-in-the-wall, divey mom & pop places much more than a trendy national chain with $10 chicken nuggets or mac n cheese on their kids menu. Support local business. Go to Pho Tay Ho, order a bowl of pho'n goodness, and get a salty lemonade. You won't regret it.
Pho $5.50
Lemonade $2
Best Pho in SLC. Small menu but all the great kinds of pho. Steak, meatball, tripe, and for the less adventurous chicken pho. Broth is excellent. Even though the pho is great the best part is probably the crispy spring rolls. You only get 2 so make sure you get 3 or 4 orders (only ~$2/order). Staff is very friendly and I'm pretty sure 2 grandmas do all the cooking. Made with love.
Pho. I've tried a lot, and this is definitely the best in the valley! Always delicious!
So delicious!! Noodle soups are made with fresh ingredients and very tasty broth. The Well Done Brisket is my favorite. The service is always above and beyond friendly and accommodating. We order take-out quite often. Highly recommended!

Pho is all about the broth, and this is my favorite in the city.
Spring rolls!. Out standing spring rolls and adorable restaurant! The family that runs this little hidden gem is wonderful! Although I might not really know what authentic Vietnamese food is-I am pretty sure this is the real deal! Hard working ladies in the kitchen cooking up some very tasty spring rolls and soup!
Best Pho in Salt Lake. The house is hands down my favorite place to go. I like the small and intimate house it's in, I like the location, I'm obsessed with the food. They make the only fried eggrolls I will eat. They are crunchy and fresh and yes, pretty oily, and served with some of the best fish sauce I've tasted. There's a good chance it's actually just Nuoc Mam sauce and that the eggroll is so good that it fools you into thinking it's some miraculous sauce. I love to get the vermicelli noodles with eggrolls and fish sauce to just pour on top. First place I ever had bun and still one of my favorites. But the star of the house is obviously - the pho. The broth here is simply perfection. It's salty, sweet, and once infused with a heaping ton of thai basil and sriracha it becomes the greatest soup in salt lake city. I don't even need noodles or meat (although the have some of the softest rare steak) the broth is that good. I'm simply in love with this place.
PHO is at it's best when it's made sy with love... Great place. Simple not over done. I highly recommend it. My new favorite PHO spot.. You should try!
Very Very Good. We almost drove by when we decided to try this place. We weren't sure they were open, and I'll admit I had some reservations but when we walked in it was a lovely and clean little restaurant. We had no idea what was and was not good and our waitress gladly helped us order what was the most popular dish. The portions were huge and it was super cheap. You can get carry out too. We will definitely be coming back.
Great place. Great food.. I am a bit biased as I live around the corner. I finally tried this place after they renovated a house and moved in. Great Pho. Usually get the #10 or #8(?) and I am never disappointed. My 4 year old always begs to go to the 'corner restaurant' and get some noodles. Great value. Highly recommended.
Best in Salt Lake. I've tried six other Phở restaurants in SLC, and this is the BEST, both the phở and the ambiance. Just walking in the door, the fragrance delights the senses. I've been looking for two years to find a Phở restaurant in SLC that compares favorably with Phở 75 in the Washington, DC area. Finally, I have found one.
Sooo sooo good. Go in order the #1 with the works. Season with lots of chilli enjoy and return on a weekly pilgramidge to repeat. Best pho outside of Vietnam.
Pho was good. Asians got served before me here though. Waitresses' friends possibly.
Small bowls of Pho for the price, but pretty good broth. All the necessary items to create the art of pho.
Home made pho. This is real home made pho. I know the owners and they make it fresh every single day. This is a must go place for pho.
Excellent!. I tried the Banh Cuon, they were REALLY good, and I was surprised about how large the portion was, seeing that the price is so low... Great pho, too!
Tastes great,. And is filling. Also cheap. All good things
The Pho here is SO good! Fresh ingredients that are very tasty. We ordered take out on a Sunday night and couldn't have been more pleased. Great prices make it even better.
The pho was awesome. The “small” bowls were big and there was plenty of noodles and meat. The broth was a little more straightforward tasting than what I was used to at Van Loi, not as many other nuanced flavors. But the flavor that it did have was deep, beefy, and very well seasoned. No need for the hoisin sauce.
The broth at Pho Tay Ho is rich and flavorful. You just know it is 'home made', especially when you walk in the door and you can peek into the kitchen and see the pots on the stove.
I still have several places to try, however Phở Tay Ho is definitely one of the best restaurants in the valley for a bowl.
Ordered the fried pork egg rolls and steak/meatball pho. Both dishes were excellent. Very authentic flavors. Service was fast and friendly. One of the hidden gems in SLC!

Phenomenal food, great service. First time having pho and it did not disappoint! Even my very picky kid loved her food! We will be going again.
This is the cutest pho place and to top it off the pho is DELICIOUS. highly recommend!!!
OH MY PHO. First off, the staff are so friendly and helpful even while they’ve been so short staffed (I included a pic of the signs on their door outlining hours and such until August 2nd,) but the PHO was SO AMAZING! I asked our waitress what their most popular dish and the #10 and all of the additional toppings and sauces were superb together! Highly recommend Pho Tay Ho if you like delicious Vietnamese food!
excellent Phó! the broth has so much flavor. I like to eat here whenever I'm in the area. Friendly service staff, maybe a little short staffed. Not a long wait for food.
Just loved the atmosphere, very quaint. Felt like we were eating in our grandmother's living room . The Pho was very good, the service was excellent. I highly recommend this establishment. Easy to miss, looks like your grandmother's home, and just as welcome .
First day in Salt Lake City and had to tried a pho place in town. Saw the reviews and also a person I was traveling with recommended this place. The location looks like a residential area even the place looked like a house. The place felt homey and you can tell by the people who runs this is a family own. This established is like a restaurant/home. Lots of people were dining here as well.
Pho definitely taste like homemade and you can order in a small, medium, or large. I order a #1 in a size small which is plentiful since I was also tired and not up to eat more like I usually do. It's very tasty, broth is clear and flavorful. Good amount of meat, noodles and herbs.
Pho real, this is so tasty and good.
We got our food within 20 minutes of sitting down. The service was so great and they were all very friendly!
Definitely recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
An excellent Pho restaurant. We drove from Park City, well worth it.
Really economical also.
Guarantee you won't be disappointed.
Best broth I ever had. A large bowl fills me just fine. P.S. I'm 210 pounds. Interior is not fancy or anything, but feels welcoming and clean, especially from the bathroom, I can tell they put a lot of effort into keeping the restaurant clean. Most small family owned restaurants fail to keep their bathrooms clean.
Love this place. Such a hole in the wall. Server turned me on to the house special with all kinds of meats. Some stuff I wasn’t comfortable with eating until tasting how delicious it was with the Pho.
The best Pho I've ever had. This is Pho that will knock your socks off. I was visiting for work and came here two days in a row. I wish I would have made it 3 times.
Always love this place. They have the best Pho. Soup is very tasty and I feel like "home" when eating in cozy little restaurant.
It has a homey feel. Really delicious pho. Did I mention it's HOME made? Haha
Some of the Pho in Utah, and it’s run by a small family. Mother, daughter, granddaughter all making the magic happen.
By far my favorite place to support!
The egg rolls and spring rolls here were to-die-for! The freshest ingredients are always used. They have some of the best pho in the valley, as well. The ladies here are super nice and the service is spectacular. They close for a few hours a day to deep clean the place; it is spotless, and you can see the cleanliness of the kitchen from the front door! Get here early to avoid waiting for a table. The food is so good, there is usually a line to get some! Can't wait to come back......again, and again.....
Best Pho experience in SLC. The broth was good, service was fast, and I really like that it’s in an old house! Very unique and enjoyable.
Awesome little restaurant with fantastic pho. I would highly recommend the steamed egg rolls!
Best pho in town! I am relieved to find pho that is comparable to New York City here. It is spot on. Every type of meat is cooked perfectly, the tendon and tripe were both super soft and flavorful. Of course the bone broth is key, and it was fabulous - absolutely no flow or is missing. And a bonus, the egg crepe roll is really good and authentic also, as the texture of the rice crepe is perfect and the dessert with jelly, red bean and mung bean is authentic. Tastes like what I ate growing up. If you need a good bowl of pho, this is the place to go. Note, it is a bare bones operation for 30 years made by a mom and daughter by hand, so the service and atmosphere are quite basic. But if you need a good bowl of pho, this is the place to be.
