Cute little restaurant on 9th and 9th Street! My friend and I both got what we’d usually order at a Cafe Rio/Costa Vida, and we agreed that this place is better than either! I got a simple taco and my friend got an enchilada. The people here were super nice and spoke in Spanish to my friend. It’s also a good vibe, there’s an outdoor area to eat as well. Would recommend!

Super fresh, great tasting, AMAZING workers! Seriously they were sooo friendly. The store was pretty empty and we were very surprised because it was so good! We got the Barbacoa pork and sweet pork. They do enchilada style burritos (green sauce with cheese melted...or red sauce) for free even! The sauce and meat were phenomenal! We got chips and queso which were just so so (probably wouldn't get that again but would try the salsa!) but everything else was great!! We will definitely be coming back again. Wish they had one in utah county closer to Provo
Such nice staff! They were so quick and helpful. I got my food so fast! I like the brown rice option. I think is a nice little review. The sign does seem to be hard to notice.
The food was SO good and tasted super fresh (especially the guacamole). The three employees working there when I went (Melesio, Viene, and Maria Jr.) we’re incredibly friendly and helpful too. They went out of their way to chat with me and make sure I had a good experience. I will definitely be eating here again.
Good place for quick and delicious Mexican food. I got the burrito and I highly recommend doing half and half with meat (I didn't know that's an option!! But the person making my burrito was very helpful). I got half barbacoa beef, which is spicy, and half sweet pork (which is really sweet and needed balancing). Burrito was a good size and tasty. I got mine to go, but I noticed the place was not very busy - probably a good place if you want to grab a meal and have a chat without having to yell over each other. It's also located in a really cute neighborhood that you can walk off your burrito in after :)
Barbacoa never let's me down! I haven't eaten here in several years as I moved away, but I'm back visiting and it has not changed it's quality or deliciousness at all. Love it!

I don't know if they run out of lettuce. But today my salad came with pre-made iceberg lettuce mix rather than the usual dark green leafs.
The nachos were delicious. The serving size was great too! I love that they put both queso and shredded cheese on for no extra cost. The sign out front is hard to see because of trees, but it’s really there. Go check them out!

As you can see I ate every last grain of rice. This place is it. Started coming here a few weeks ago as I wanted something new and they did not disappoint. I always get a bowl and you get more food for a lower cost compared to competitors. Another great feature of this place is variety in toppings for your dishes. I love salsa verde and having it as an option is awesome. My meat of choice is the spicey pork and it’s fantastic. The meat is always super tender and melts in your mouth without it being too hot to enjoy. Aside from the great food the team is super polite and doesn’t rush you when ordering like other establishments. I’ve brought several friends here since discovering it and now they all love it too. I will definitely be returning to Barbacoa soon for another fresh and affordable meal.
Got a smothered burrito this time and it was excellent. The sauce added so much flavor to the burrito then just having it plain. Highly recommend trying it smothered next time!

A conveniently located Barbacoa in the 9x9 neighborhood of Salt Lake City. It's local chain so you know what you're getting and if you're wanting a massive burrito this is the spot.
Super fast, great service and and barbacoa pork salad and burrito were great! Always great for a fast filling meal.
My husband and I passed thru SLC and drove down the 9th & 9th district for a late lunch. We noticed the cool Barbecoa storefront with their shade-y patio seating.
We got an Enchilada burrito and a bowl. *Highly recommend the Honey Pork* (very sweet and tender)!
We were helped at the counter by Sergio, who gave us the friendliest customer service. He was very graceful, with a great sense of humor that put smiles on our faces and left a lasting impression.
We enjoyed our meal on the patio with our dogs! Great location to catch the evening breezes and people watch.
And if you still have room after consuming the generous portions, there's coffee and Gelato both located across the street for dessert.👌🏼
