The side dish of roasted carrots was the highlight of my meal! Order these carrots!!! The portions are a bit small since they planned for guests to order from each section of the menu. The meatballs were pretty good, a bit on the dry side but really good flavor. There is outdoor seating but it was chilly that night so we ate inside. My friend ordered the Burrata, it was good but I think it would have been better grilled and warm. The lasagna was spicy such I liked.

Not happy about the parking and the paid parking area is expensive. Wish they had a better selection for alcohol. The food is absolutely delicious though! The bread and garlic olive oil is amazing! The spinach dumplings and lamb chops as well. The chicken Parmesan was okay, lacking in flavor. Brussels were yummy! The larger pieces could have been cut.

This past Sunday was my mothers birthday and she wanted Italian food for dinner. We decided to go to Battalion, located in a restored firehouse in downtown San Antonio. This restaurant offers a menu built of family style Italian dishes and awesome cocktails. We shared 2 appetizers, 2 pasta dishes and one main course for 3 adults. The portions for each plate feeds 2 people and everything is made from scratch. Overall this was a great dinner and the best part was my mom enjoyed every single moment at this establishment. I recommend to check it out

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What a delightful dining experience at Battalion Italian Restaurant in San Antonio! My colleagues and I were in town for a conference and had the pleasure of enjoying a meal here. The food was absolutely delicious, and the ambiance was just the right blend of cool and cozy. But what truly stood out was the incredible value. A meal for three that would have cost us three times the price in Miami! The service was impeccable, and the energy in the restaurant was infectious. We left with smiles on our faces and a promise to visit again. Battalion, you've won our hearts! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great food in a fun atmosphere! We had the most enjoyable group dinner here. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. My favorite with a pistachio dessert that was so decadent! I will definitely be back!

Why oh why did I not come here sooner? It’s been on the list and we finally made it for dinner. Sat at the bar and took the bartender’s advice on a few dishes. They did not disappoint. Excellent food, cocktails and service. And do NOT pass on the spinach dumplings. Wow.

My husband and I walked into this bar for a Friday night date and it did not disappoint. We walked and were immediately greeted by the hostess and asked if we had a reservation (we were not here to eat, so we asked if we could just sit at the bar). Then, we met Alex, the bartender. Alex was so great, and patient with me as I asked him if he could help me find a classic martini that I might enjoy. He was so informative and took time to help me understand what I was ordering, and explained everything in a way that didn’t make me feel like an idiot. I enjoyed a vodka martini straight up with an extra twist & a slightly dirty vodka martini. We also ordered a slice of the tiramisu, and I have thought about how absolutely perfect that dessert was for 3 days. I cannot wait to return to this spot for a dinner reservation!

Capturing the essence of la dolce vita at Battalion, where classic meets contemporary. Pasta and martinis makes for the perfect date night.

🔥Great Atmosphere, Food, and Presentation🔥 Of all the restaurants I tried in San Antonio, the Battalion was among my favorite. My entire group agreed the food tasted amazing and the unique atmosphere stood out. The Battalion is built inside of an old fire station, reconverted into a restaurant and bar. Many of the old furnishings remain stylishly in place, such as the poles from the second story, the stairs, and the large garage door. The inside is refurbished with red ambience and an artistic, flame-inspired chandelier over the central bar area. Food and beverages taste and look amazing. I would definitely order the Raspberry Basil drink again. Everything from the bread with house-made garlic-cheese spread, to the Eggplant Parmesan satisfied my tastebuds. The Chicken Parmesan and Eggplant Parmesan come in large servings, perfect for splitting. Every bit is cooked to perfection and served fresh with each ingredient detectible per bite. I would gladly dine here again. While the restaurant wasn’t overcrowded when I dined, I’ve heard it can fill up quickly. Consider a reservation if you’re visiting on vacation or coming with a larger party!

The hostess was friendly and greeted us upon arrival. The restaurant itself was sophisticated while relaxing at the same time. We loved the way the menu was laid out. Our waiter was knowledgeable and helped us order just what we needed. The bread was great. We followed it up with what are without a doubt the best meatballs I've ever had that came swimming in a delectable tomato sauce. Afterwards we shared an amazingly rich pasta and spinach dumplings that were to die for. We ended it with a tender, juicy, hearty chicken parmesan. My only complaint was that the upstairs dining area was noticeably warmer than downstairs. The drinks were good too.

This was our first time here. Waiter and staff were super knowledgeable. Food was excellent. I had the wine and it was exceptional. The mixed drinks the others had were also good. The salads are a good choice. I had the steak and for an Italian place it was very good. The restaurant is in an old fire station and the mood lighting is red. Not sure that works. You sort of feel like your eating in a bar or dance club. They cook the food on the 2nd floor. The place it not big. They have outdoor eating space.

Really expected a bit more here. Great meal and drink names that are fire department related. The service was a little slow. Drinks came out fast but food was very slow. For a place as pricey as this I would expect good service. Some of our meals were on the table and we had to alert our waiter that meals were missing. He had to ask which one. Then when he brought the other two meals for our party of 4 they were cold. A bit disappointed. The other this that a bit annoying was the constant upscale of every course. If you cant keep track of what we ordered, don’t try to add more.

We loved the ambiance and service at this restored firehouse turned Italian restaurant. Everything from the bread service and appetizers to drinks and homemade pasta were great. As an added bonus, the area overlooks downtown San Antonio and the Tower of the Americas.

The shrimp was really good and flavorful for its low price. The Parmesan crusted lamb chops is a must try, it was our favorite. But the tiramisu and carbonara was definitely lacking in flavor.
