The drinks were good and nicely priced during Happy Hour. The food was good bar food and the gentleman playing the guitar was awesome. It was a very fun night.
Great Fish & Chips
We had dinner on a rare cold night in San Antonio at Mad Dog British Pub. We had the scotch egg as an appetizer and fish & chips. We washed it all down with a Guinness for my husband and a shandy for me. Our food arrived hot and was delicious. Service was top notch. We definitely recommend Mad Dog's on the Riverwalk.
I had the Bangers and mash, Bangers were good, mash wash real potatoes they were still lumpy so I know they were real, gravy was good but had some very hard crunchy bits in it, the baked beans were crap order something else beside the beans. This is a tourist joint but still not bad.
Great food. I had the fish and chips and wife had the lamb stew. I would highly recommend this place for dinner or just to grab a quick drink.
Great location on the scenic Riverwalk. Fantastic service and delicious food. Of course it doesn't hurt that it is served by pretty girls in kilts.
Food was decent, but maybe not the best British I've had, but not all servers are good or bad. I had 2 good meals here, and the music was not loud.

It was good...just popped in for a small quick bite after lunch...baked potato soup was really good...but the Scotch Eggs were awesome! Never had then before...New favorite food for now...
I think this is a pub that wanted to be English because of the kilts and little skirts. Otherwise it was a place that served decent pub food but the bartender did not know how to make a Pimms cup the most basic of summer English Cocktail. So if you want to drink beer and eat pub food, you are ok but don't call it authentic.
Great meal. We had a great experiance at diner. We were greeted and seated right away. Shy was our waitress and did a fantastic job. We never had to ask for refills or anything. She kept on checking in us. We had the fish and chips. It was delicious. The fish was cooked perfect. The only thing I did not care for was the coleslaw. Beer was good and cold. We will definately return for a meal.
Pleased. Went there last year.....Enjoyed it, will go back when we are in the area. fyi.......please don't turn my beer red, even if it is halloween. Other than that petty side note......I love this bar.
I was a little put off by the atmosphere and the menu being a lot like bar food. But what they mke here is all very tasty. The fish and cips was nice ad flaky. The sauces from the sampler platter were all the best. Fresh salsa and ranch and honey dijon mustard. My curry chicken salad was refreshingly different with flavors. Really good. The only problem I saw was a waiter in a kilt. Not very amusing.

I went to eat here with my sisters late last month but just doing review today. I ordered the Cottage pie and it was delicious. One of my sister's ordered the Fish and Chips and she loved it. Honestly, I didn't think she would since she's a picky eater but didn't have anything negative to say about her food. My other sister ordered the Bangers and Mash and while she liked it she did say the gravy was a little salty but was good. I think the British flags are very cute to put on the dishes. I'll be coming back here soon since the food was too good and couldn't stop looking at my sister's plate of Fish and Chips.
This place Rocks! Right under our suite at the Hyatt made it perfect! Wife loved it they allow smoking in patio area Visiting San Antonio for Christmas decorated River Walk AMAZING! So beautiful Great times Will definitely do again sometime 👍😁. Special shout out to Ti Ti & Lesley and all of the staff that made our time so FUN!!
Cute British pub on the Riverwalk! Lots of nostalgic stuff to look at and enjoy. Staff were attentive. We didn't eat, just drinks and we had a fun experience! Karaoke was playing and they had heated lamps for the cold evening. Our group really enjoyed stopping in for a nightcap before heading back to our hotel.
This place was amazing! They were super accommodating from the start as our party had two toddlers under 2. They got us set up and our server Ashley was amazing from start to finish! She ensured we had what we needed at all times, gave great recommendations on food, was sweet with the kids and all around a fun and kind human!
The food was absolutely delicious! We got the Scotch Eggs to start and I had the chicken and waffle entree. Both exceeded any expectations I had!

Standard pub food, great mixed drinks. Loaded potato soup was excellent. The chili on the nachos is really sweet (more like baked beans) and they were soggy before they reached the table except for the ones at the very edge. Use a spoon to eat the bowl of cheesy grits that were originally nachos - if you like grits... just don't expect crispy chips. They are enough to be a meal for two!
Ashley was absolutely incredible to all of us at our table. We had 6 adults and 2 kids in high chairs, and she made sure we had plenty of space and were comfortable. It was really nice to feel so welcome. She also made it a point to keep our strollers with us, but out of the way and safe from anyone messing with them. The food was amazing, drinks were great and fair priced, and I cannot say enough about how great Ashley treated us! It was a great experience made better by outstanding service, we will be back frequently!

Cool Irish pub on the river walk. Had the fish and chips, not impressed, just ok, seemed under fried and one giant piece of fish instead of smaller pieces, chips were ok. Beer was good and service by the bartenders was good too. Good place to hang out with live music but not so much for the food.

Been to this location quite a few times in the last 15 years and most recently the day of the holiday parade (last night) and the bartender who tended to us was amazing and efficient! I cannot remember his name but he had a beard and long wavy hair up to shoulder I believe. We did not have to wait to get drinks as he was very attentive and very friendly. He was also very knowledgeable about the menu and even recommended a few items for us. Our old fashions made by him were top notch. Also the DJ was one of the best I’ve heard in years, he played a variety of music so it was very refreshing! Love it !

Solid choice among the many Riverwalk tourist traps. The fish and chips was fine; a beautiful piece of cod overcome by far too much batter. Could use more time in the fryer and/or a minute on a rack after frying so the bottom can crisp up. Good french fries. All the girls were very nice. Pleasant experience, would try them again.
Good lively place, the atmosphere was very good and so was the food. The waitresses were pleasant.

Overall a nice atmosphere regardless of the day or time. Very on brand with British telephone booth and other details throughout the establishment. Known for the fish and chips but their whole menu is great. They have karaoke nights and other things depending on the day.
