First time here. The food was great! Had the crossroads tacos. I highly recommend them. The place was busy, but my buddy and I were able to find seating at the bar. Our server was friendly and fast and the food was hot and delicious. I’ll be back.
There was an issue, but Josh was very professional and on point today with our issue, so we'll still be back.
We ordered 5 tacos + chips and queso. We got the tacos before the chips and queso so I told one of the gentlemen who brings you your food that we never got the chips and queso. He says okay and continues serving everyone else and never acknowledges us again.
So I go up to the counter after eating my tacos while my GF finishes eating and let Josh know the situation. Josh then dedicates the time to correcting this mistake although there is a long line of customers. Josh refunds us the money since I explain we don't want to stick around to only eat the chips and queso and we've about finished our tacos and were ignored by someone else already. They also wrapped us up some chips and queso for the inconvenience and we took it to go. I rarely have issues when going out, but this was the 100% right way to correct it. Thank you Josh!
Service was great! Being from out of town, San Antonio food has been a big adjustment for us. I’m so happy I found a good place to eat. Yay!
I found my little spot of taco heaven at Torchy’s!! Already dreaming about my next visit!
1st time here. I ordered the Chips and Queso Holy Moly 😳It was Deeeeelicious 👍🏼The Chicken & Meat Fajitas Tacos were Amazing. The Tacos had an Explosive Taste and they were very Soft👍🏼Torchy’s Menu Is Expensive though.
But I Will Be Back👍🏼
Torchys has good drinks, great tacos, and amazing queso dip! I enjoy the variety of tacos they serve but my personal favorite is the Trailer Park taco. You cannot skip on the queso! The Tipsy Chicken with the bacon marmalade is amazing.
This is a great casual place to spend with friends and fam.
For fast food these tacos are pretty damn good! I love that they have a secret menu :)
We came to San Antonio to meet some friends who were visiting from out of state. They had never been to Torchy's, so we wanted to share the quintessential Texas experience. They said they liked it. Everything was good and the service was consistent. The staff was liberal with the sauces when I asked for more. Thank you. The only thing I was not overly happy about was the breakfast taco. The cheese was not melted and it did not have much flavor. I will probably not order it again and just stick to my favorites instead.
Just a fun place with a non-traditional selection of tacos. The chips and queso are excellent. The tacos are a good size...plenty of food. There is also a bar in case you want to get your drink on and watch a game. Very casual atmosphere with a fun vibe. Nothing like a traditional taqueria. Check them out when you are in the mood for something a little different.
Torchy's is a taco restaurant. It's not traditional tacos. That's fine. The tacos they sever are pretty good. The place is nice. They have a couple of murals that are nice. Behind the soda is a wall filled with divider makers for the road. That was creative 👌. I'd go back again.
Had a fancy/indie vibe? Not in a bad way at all. Upscale feel with upscale tacos at great prices. They take a unique spin on some of their tacos, but also have a few classic flavors. The only negatives were that it could have been a bit cleaner in the dining room (granted, we visited just after the lunch rush) and although their tacos are great, it seems like a bit much on a few. I love a loaded taco, but sometimes the flavors muddle each other and don't have a clear focus. Yeah, the ingredients complement each other, but they get a bit too busy.
Torchy's has some neat flavor combos and worth a shot since the staff seems awesome.
For $5ish bucks a taco though in San Antonio, I really expect a fresh (not bagged) tortilla. I mean, all those cool flavor combos thrown on a bagged tortilla for $5 is pretty weak
We really enjoyed our food. My husband goes there all the time with his friends and ranted about their queso. We got a vegetarian taco, one childs taco and a chicken burrito. The food tasted good and was very healthy and fresh. They did run out of queso, which is the only reason we went but we still enjoyed it.
I love Torchy’s!! Been eating at different locations for years. This is one of my favorite locations. They keep the restaurant clean and well stocked. The staff is friendly and helpful. I recommend starting with some chips and guacamole or queso. My favorite tacos are the Chicken fajita, The Crossroads and the Aces of Spades off the Secret menu. They do serve breakfast tacos all day.
food was great, however service at the order counter was subpar. we visited specifically for a free queso reward on the taco junkie mobile app. the host scanned our barcode to redeem the reward, but still charged us. i didn’t notice until i looked at my receipt at the end, brought it up to them & they didn’t refund me since they claimed it went through on their side. we also found a fruit fly in our drink. i won’t be returning to this location unless management can personally fix this (email is lasharkus210@gmail)
Expectations = exceeded. This place deserves 5.0 stars all day long. I don't know how someone could have a poor experience.
I ordered 2 tacos initially (Trailer Park and Green Chile Verde) and had to go back for another later. My wife got the Baja Shrimp and Tailgate. Trailer Park was my favorite for sure.
Also you HAVE to get the chips and queso. It's vital to your health and well being.
The layout is awesome, in and then out, we got our tacos relatively quick, and the service is super fast! The tacos are AMAZING!!! HAVE TO TRY FOR YOURSELF!
Love the outdoor seating! And the bar area as well, definitely worth a visit!
The food was delicious and so quick. I love the pork carnitas but my beef taco was a little dry. We sat outside because the weather was so cool. The outside seating is generous.
I've enjoyed Torchy's Tacos since they opened. Food: My favorite taco is the Mr. Orange. You can never go wrong with the chips and queso either. They have a half portion of it if you're just going by yourself. It's not on the menu, but if you ask for it, you will get it. It will save you about $1.75. Some might think that $5.25 for a salmon taco is a bit much. However, the tortillas are LOADED with food, so you're definitely getting your money's worth.
Service: The line and wait time for your food can sometimes be long at this location, but it is definitely worth the wait. San Antonio could use another one of these, but that might not happen since there are about 5-6 restaurants an hour and half away in the Austin area, where they're headquartered.
Environment: It can be a little noisy at times, but the eclectic design and decor of the establishment makes up for it.
Second time at this location and the food was perfect. So much flavor in each bite! The new Tokyo Drifter was better than I thought. It was sweet and crunchy. I'm doubling up on that one next time. Come to the Alamo Heights location for a great meal! We went to the one at the Rim after coming here first and were let down. Our meal had very little heat and the flavors were subdued. I'm going to give it a second try, but this location is awesome. Great atmosphere and super quick friendly service.
Well I think my picture domes it up. This place is damn good. Very delicious meal and a very friendly climate. The staff are super nice and patient. The dining area is well cleaned and so is the bar. Top notch dining experience
