Ruben and Jon both do an amazing job running this restaurant. š The brisket is awesomely made everytime we visit, the fries is fresh and tasty, pulled pork was pretty damn good as well. A MUST-EAT for anyone looking for a good place after going to the zoo, plus it's literally only minutes away from the zoo!
First time trying Augie's on a Sunday Afternoon and it was lovely! We tried the three meat plate with the brisket, pulled pork, and sausage. The Pulled pork and sausage were my favorite, but the brisket was my Partners favorite.
Their Mac n Cheese was simple but paired well with the food, but their Potato Salad was Next level delicious!
Only downside was they only gave us one small side of their BBQ sauce. I wanted more!
We actually came for the pop up market that is held every Sunday! I have a small business called honeys beadz and now Every single time we come to be vendors we end up eating dinner here as well š¤£ the food is so great I love it! Id recommend any of the burgers! The hotdogs are huge so for sure come with an appetite! I love the employees here and the prices are very fair for being downtown basically!
Food was delicious! Wanted BBQ near by after our zoo day and we made a great choice. The staff was very sweet and helpful. The atmosphere was great, and food was delicious. Spent roughly $35 for two people with the food and fountain drinks which we came home with leftovers. Would definitely recommend and will 100% be going back.
Absolutely perfect, the staff was amazing and very helpful. The food was exactly what we had hoped for when we were searching for authentic Texas BBQ!! Lots of parking, indoor and outdoor seating for large parties šš. If you are looking for a great stop before or after you visit the San Antonio zoo.. this is place to go.
Excellent BBQ. Great atmosphere. Good service. The food is excellent but when you're in the land of great BBQ I'm hard pressed to write a glowing review, don't get me wrong it's good, real good but not "jump up and smack your mama good"
Friendly staff, tasty barbecue and great outdoor seating area! Reasonably priced for generous portions. The brownies are delicious too. Gave it 4 stars because of the uneven floors which could pose a hazard for some visitors.

First I want to say AMAZING customer service! BBQ has us full and ready to pop. Brisket, pork/beef ribs, chicken, and my personal favorite the spicy sausage. I was completely caught off guard. Great smokey flavor with the perfect amount of heat. Would recommend 10/10.
Oh my Lord - this is probably the best brisket Iāve ever had. Found this place by chance when walking around the Japanese Tea Garden down the road, and grabbed lunch here before leaving San Antonio. We got the two meat platter, 1/4 dark chicken which was juicy and flavorful and the brisketā¦ melt in your mouth tender and juicy!!!! The potato salad and macānācheese were both creamy, flavorful and delicious. I will definitely return here when back in San Antonio!
AMAZING Service! Authentic BBQ with awesome outdoor seating. Great for kids to play. Food wasn't anything special, just average. It's all about the atmosphere here. Plus it's walking distance from the Japanese Tea Gardens and the San Antonio Zoo.
Service: The service was outstanding, we can tell that they care and want a good experience for all of their customer. From the front door, one gentleman approached us and started to tell which one mixed together and good one for first-timer. We are impressed with their approach with their customers.
Food: It's worth the drive, we loved the beef ribs! We ordered the brisket and it's so soft but am still siding with the beef brisket.
Place: They have a small restaurant but they have a big area for outside sitting. I think best time to go is about 4pm onwards because they have lights setup outside and for you to enjoy it. While we did dine in they only have 4 tables inside with 4 chairs each.
The place was really nice and you can tell from the pictures I uploaded, you can feel the Texas vibes!
Food was good. Outdoor dining on a beautiful day/night is a must. Was greeted by a cook who loves what he does but the casher was a little rude but didn't have much interaction with her other than to place our order so no biggie. Will come back when we visit the area.
Very delicious BBQ!!! Pulled pork sandwich specia with a side and drink for $9.99, a very well served portion, can easily split the sandwiches for 2 people. Their marbled and lean brisket are delicious, can be eaten without needing BBQ sauce. Even their lean brisket is not dry at all. Staff is very nice, excellent customer service, clean restrooms. Definitely adding this place to our must visit when in SA. Pictures show the pulled pork Sandwich, and a lean brisket sandwich and 1/2 lb of marbled chopped brisket.
Awesome brisket sandwich! Came here on a recommendation and got here right before close, but the friendly staff still made sure we a full menu to choose from - and let us come back well after close for ice cream. The kids really enjoyed seeing the kittens by our outdoor table, too. We'll be back!
The staff was wonderful hereā¤ Very cheerful & helpful. The food was absolutely amazing. We had a three meat plate with jalapeno sausage, pulled pork & brisket. Honey beans & potato salad. Jalapeno sausage will knock your socks off. Id say it had a big kick. Great smoke flavor & plenty to eat. Very affordable ā¤Such a cute spot will definitely return!!
