We are here visiting from Houston and happened upon Twin Sisters and can't wait to come back next time we visit from Houston. The place, the food, and the staff all amazing.
I have loved this place for years. Their food is so fresh and so yummy. I recommend it to everyone. I could eat there every day!
Enjoyed tonight having a glass of wine and listening to the music (oldies and a little cajun). The food was great ... chips and salsa, enchiladas for one of us and quiche for another. Carol one of the owners and Margaret (waitress) were attentive to our needs and very friendly. Oh, and a mini cupcake for all patrons for Twin Sister's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We will definitely be back!!
This place has to be one of the top 3 places to eat brunch on the weekends in San Antonio. I love love love this place!
The Avocado, Cream Cheese and Cheese or Vegetarian sandwich is the best thing ever.
I'm completely speechless at how amazing the food was. I ordered my lunch online and drove 5 mins to pick up. I had the Chicken Tortilla Soup with 1/2 sandwich Turkey and cheese on Parmesan bread. OMG!!! It was so amazing. Let me just say that I can't stand romaine lettuce but this sandwich was made so perfectly and homemade that I ate the whole thing including the romaine lettuce. Keep it up you guys. Staff was very friendly. Oh yea I also had the chocolate chip oatmeal cookie and regular chocolate chip WOW!!! So good. The freshly squeezed lemonade was also very delightful. Not even a crumb from my entire meal tasted like it had ever been frozen or microwaved. It all tasted so authentic and homemade. Thank you guys so much. I think I found my new favorite restaurant. I can't wait to try breakfast and dinner. I love the atmosphere as well it's very like indie style I guess you could say. It's AMAZING!
The food was great! Really enjoyed the Pot Roast! Carol and Staff were so fabulous for Art Show Reception! The food and drink were terrific! THANK YOU! What a contribution to the art community!

Always excellent food. It is difficult to find healthy options in San Antonio. This is where you need to go. Period.
I love the food!! I had tortilla soap with their delicious cornbread.
I also had 1 double chocolate chip cookie. My husband and I like the Friday night music too!! The staff and the owner are very friendly and nice too!! ❤️
Its a charming cafe in in a great location and the food was awesome. I enjoyed a large western omlet, potatoes, bacon, and coffee. Portion sizes are perfect. The place was clean, service was friendly and overall it was a great dining experience.
This place has amazing bacon!! I had the BAT bacon, avocado, tomatoe sandwich on parmesan bread and loved it. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. The tortilla soup was also very good, it has more of a tomato base vs chicken broth. I can't wait to take my husband. The only thing is that they dont have straws, so if you dont like drinking from a cup take a straw or ask for a To go cup.
My favorite quick meal. Large tortilla soup with cornbread, and a full grilled cheese on parm bread. Best grilled cheese in Alamo heights. The soup is classic. Cheese, chicken, broth, and tortilla chips.
I love this place. If they would add waffles to the breakfast menu, I'd rate them 4.5/5. The Carne Guisada is as close to perfection as you'll find anywhere.
This is a very pleasant place to eat and meet friends. The service is good and the food is fresh and healthy. Will come back and try the breakfast menu.
Good food. Customer service is good too. Some times there can be a very short wait but it Is worth it. Delish. I will come back when I'm in the area.
Yummy Yummy In my Tummy☺️ I.... Yummy Yummy In my Tummy☺️
I ordered pancakes when I went to Twin Sisters Bakery and Cafe and they were doughy and delicious. I would definitely go here again.
Great tasting chicken quesadillas! They were the some of the best I've ever tasted! Corn bread was very good too. Portions were a little smaller than I'm used to, but everyone in my table (8 adults who eat out a lot) loved their food. Missing from the menu is beef - owners going for healthy choice options.
Twin Sisters has become a ritual cafe for enjoying local ingredients and old fashion taste on one plate. The whole wheat pancakes are heavenly, the omelettes are fluffy, and the muffins are rich. The cafe has both a diverse breakfast and lunch/dinner menu. The vegetarian options are flavorful, and won't disappoint. After many visits, this cafe never disappoints. Tip: come hungry and prepare to spend a few extra minuets sipping coffee!
Twin Sisters Bakery and Cafe. Twin Sisters was on our radar for breakfast on a very early Saturday morning before grocery shopping. This is a fun little cafe which has been recommended by friends for us to try out. I now know why. The food is great! Good service and atmosphere.
My partner ordered the Migas, which consisted of three scrambled eggs with onions, green & red bell peppers, tortilla chips and cheddar cheese. I ordered the Cowboy Omelette, which was chipped up yellow onions, green & red bell peppers, country ham cubes, and cheddar cheese. Both meals were very good. The coffee was fresh and hot, as well. We also ordered pancakes to share.
Good but could be better. The service has been good both times I have been at Twin Sisters. I don't like their low-fat everything but I do love their moist, and flavorful cornbread that comes with the tortilla soup. The tortilla soup could have more substenance something more to it than broth, chicken, tiny bit of tortilla strips, Maybe have a small side of avocado or cheese. Overall, it was tasty.
Banana Pancakes. I ended up here after I forgot that the McNay Art Institute is closed on Mondays. This place is about a block North on New Braunfels. I had some whole wheat banana pancakes and they were so good I didn't put any syrup on them other than a schmeer of butter. It went well with the spiced tea.
Service was slow but was friendly. It was quite a nice meal.
If you are a fan of quiche, theirs was the best!!! However, for a bakery, their dessert selection was limited. The pop comes in a can, but they give you a cup of ice. Their wheat rolls were hard and dry. Would eat there again, though!
Fresh!. The Best Blueberry Pancakes in Town!
What more does one need?

Descent. This place I have only been to for breakfast, but when I crave breakfast this is one of the places I think of. Love the single banana pancake with a side of potatoes. :-) Great for the day when you just want some fresh breakfast.
Great service and atmosphere!! Will be coming back to try more of their menu!
An old favorite!. We've eaten here for years and still love it! If you dine on a night where the pot roast special is available, try it: lots of fork-tender roast with potatoes and carrots; yum! I also love the quiche and usually order the Caesar salad to go with it; the Caesar dressing is garlicky without the garlic being overhwelming. I also love the sauteed vegetables -- usually carrots, zucchini and much more --served on a mound of brown rice. And the cornbread that accompanies each meal is wonderful! (Ok -- you can choose a roll instead, but why would you?)
Look out for Chuck Norris.. 11:30 on a Saturday Morning. "What can I get you?" asks a little girl with lots of earing's and tattoo's. "Can I get some coffee and miga's?" One of my favorites here. She cocks one eye apologetically at me and goes, "Sorry, we shut breakfast down at 11." Without provocation, she then twists her mouth a little and says, "Ah, hell with it, I'll get 'em to make it for ya. Be right back with that." Typical of the service I've gotten here the few dozen times I've been. Almost always breakfast on the weekend, but I have done lunch here a couple times and once for a weeknight dinner. Consistently fresh, and consistently good. This is one of those menus that I love to study and eat off of. Its like a Hippy commune got bought out by Mel's Diner who hired some guy from a local Taqueria to cook it all and put an out-of-work punk band out front to run it. I love it! Funky & eclectic just doesn't reach into all the corners, but man, it sure gets close.
So, I got my newspaper scattered all over the booth when she brings my plate. "Hey, I bet you'd like a Jalapeño Lemonade with this." You can see the mischievous twinkle in her eye that's saying "Go ahead - I dare you." "Sure, kiddo, I'll try it!", trying to act braver than I was actually feeling. I'm 3 bites into my miga's when she brings it back. Tall wet glass of cool lemonade with a big slice of jalapeño floating on top. I pull the straw out and take a big gulp without hesitation. Pow. Right in the kisser. "Did Chuck Norris just run in here and smack me in the mouth?" She laughs and runs to get some other peoples food. But ya know what - it was perfect with those miga's.
Been a regular here for 10 years. Service usually good depending on who you get and how long they've been there. I love the sisters but I will say the food is on the expensive side for what you get and usually lacks adequate seasoning for my taste buds but it's probably better for my hypertension. It is one of THE places to eat in 09 to see your friends.
Still a favorite. Where to start... Twin Sisters has always been something to look forward to when eating out with the family. Those who work in the restaurant are more than hospitable and will allow you to relax and sit a while at the table without any hover or rush to leave. For years I simply ordered the chicken tortilla soup, a small ceaser salad and cornbread, however, lately I have tried other things on the menu.
One of their specials, a stir fry with tofu and spinach, is absolutely delicious! The pot roast, turkey burger, breakfast tacos and quesadilla's have become some of the favorite menu options as well.
Recommendation: Try the raspberry iced tea! Yumm
Great local eatery. I always get fast and friendly service from pat and joe @ twin sisters. the portions are generous and yes, it is a health conscious place, so the salads are abundant! great for a hot summer day. i adore the fact that they embrace employees who are alternative and unique. i also think is it cool that they have fun specials..for example: fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches for elvis's birthday? jalapeno lemonade? north african tagine stew? that sort of creativity and bravery is something to be treasured in san antonio because it is, sadly, scarce here in town. maybe too many people are running to heb for a safe option rather than getting out there, supporting local restaurants and being adventurous. have some fun!
Good if you live in the area. Visited the place and it is really a good spot to relax for a while if you have the time, (took off for the week). Went for breakfast, decent food, great staff.
Not good enough to make me go out of my way for breakfast like Magnolia Pancake house does (45 minute drive...worth every mile). But would recommend if you happen to be in the area.
From Twitter: Dinner was a delicious large salad and half a grilled cheese on whole wheat. Lots of whole grain options!
Wonderful little cafe with friendly staff, quirky decor, and delicious food.
There are a nice mix of daily specials and menu standards.
The tortilla soup is simple and comforting and the salad portions are generous.
This place stays busy and appears to be understaffed, but it was still a good experience. There's booth and table options for seating. I believe I saw an outside table or two. Plenty of parking around the restaurant. I tried the Twin Sister breakfast, which was delicious. We got a big basket of bread to share as part as our meals and it was delicious. I would definitely return for breakfast again.
Bustling restaurant with avid diners. The variety of choices in the menu. I enjoyed my breakfast taco, highly recommended.
Get the Migas!!! Amazing chills little cafe that is a fun place to go. Good seating and great waiters. The decor is interesting but it is a fun place to visit. I will definitely go back when I am in town. Loved the coffee and the water tastes good. I like the waiters and good parking too.

Twin Sisters is one of my fave cozy cafes! Delicious food, and I love the art on the walls. Pro Tip: go for weekend brunch and get a mimosa carafe.
Nice cozy restaurant. Service can get overwhelmed at times, but staff is very polite. The food is pricey, but given the environment, I really didn't mind. You can tell the cooks are college students because presentation means nothing here, lol. But the food is pretty good. Great mix of hippies, Hispanics, and retired folk of both demographics.
My ex-coworker and I make it a point to meet there every month for breakfast to catch up on what's happening in our lives. We absolutely love it there. Jesus is our usual server and he is excellent. He makes sure we are happy with our meal and always prompt.
The staff here is amazing. The waiter was friendly and attentive. The food was well priced and delicious
Amazed that we found a place with vegan/vegetarian options and were happy to see fresh fruit. Portion sizes were large and the service was friendly. I was expecting more bakery items to be avail though so was a little disappointed that there wasn’t more selection.
Cute little place, was seated right away and our waiter was so nice! Food was good & was quickly bought to us. Would definitely recommend!
Stopped in for a quick bite on the way out of town the coffee, hot chocolate (picture), vacuero omelette, and blueberry muffin were amazing. The muffin was chock full of blueberries and wasn't ridiculously sweet like most muffins it was more of a subtly sweet fruit bread.
I would definitely recommend this place for a quick casual Southwest bite
The entire staff were very friendly and worked as a team to ensure every table was taken care of.
Delicious and healthy food with great workers and loyal customers. I’ve been coming here since I can remember with the same fantastic and thoughtful wait staff and variety of tasty and healthy options. Today my husband, dog and I all went for brunch and sat outside. We got prompt service and they even kept my water full when we were the only ones outside (no small feat as I drink A LOT of water). We had a great breakfast bowl served with a generous side of fruit which was perfect to split with some whole wheat French toast. I ordered sugar free syrup and the waiter was thoughtful enough to leave off the powdered sugar but bring it to the table if I did want it. Our pupper made lots of new staff and customer friends and took full advantage of the ice water dog bowl the had outside for thirsty furry friends. There’s a reason this place has been here for decades!
Had the Twin Sisters breakfast: 2 eggs, yummy bacon, and 'silver dollar pancake.'
All was very satisfying! I did ask, "how big is the silver dollar pancake?" That bad-boy was 6-inches across! 👀
The coffee was hot and very good.
All staff were approachable & pleasant. It was 2018 since I last visited but the ecclectic ambiance greeted you at every turn.
I wonder what's on their lunch menu...? 🤔
I have loved Twin Sisters for the past 30 years! They make the best cookies in town:). Also, I love their local art that rotates monthly. Whenever I go there, it feels like I am at a friend’s house for lunch. Simply the best!
Thought it was a nice spot for a breakfast plate and coffee. Calm atmosphere and some local art on the walls. Kinda of has a diner vibe, but more homey. The food was fantastic and staff were attentive. Looked like they had a bunch of regulars there, which is a good sign. It's also in a safe part of town and there is ample parking. I'm a fan.
Your search for the perfect chicken tortilla soup is over. You've arrived at your destination.
The cinnamon roll pancakes are to die for. Apparently they’re only available on Saturday and Sunday.
