So I stepped out of my normal food that I usually order and went for the side order of their zesty ceviche and catfish plate. Both very good catfish. I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was battered perfectly. Definitely a good place to get catfish. And sorry for my thumb in the picture lol
We have been going to Sea Island for years and never taken the time to review it. I must say I have never been disappointed at any of the locations. Today we stopped in at this location for an early dinner and the food was right on the money. You are always given large servings of consistently good seafood. The only caveat to today's visit was apparently we ordered during a "shift change" as it was explained to me when I went to ask the status of our order after 25 minutes of waiting in an otherwise empty restaurant. Minor annoyance aside, Sea Island is a San Antonio institution and we will continue to go.
Went for lunch and ordered from the lunch specials. We haven’t been here in years because the last time it was so greasy that we got a stomach ache from the food. This time the fried fish was fried at the right temperature, not so greasy. The food was delicious, it was crispy and the veggies were cooked just right. Potatoes were at the right consistency & so we’re the green beans. The staff was nice and brought us extra napkins, lemon & sauce like we asked. We really had a wonderful lunch here.
We were visiting on Christmas Holiday 2023. This is our usually stop to get lunch and dinner. As expected, the shrimp were on point. However, the fish portion size on the 2 piece fish has gotten smaller. The spanich was mediocre. The corn was good, and potatoes were so, so. Don't start slacking up on your good food. We've always enjoyed it, but this was the 1st time in 10 years we were a bit disappointed in a few items. We'll be back as always, just maybe at a different location. Bye for now.
Food was good got the sea food boil but the prices were high and the portions small
My daughter got a hamburger. I got kid shrimp and coleslaw. Both our meals were delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Great Environment, Great Food. I highly recommend.
My girlfriend ordered lemon pepper shrimp but the cashier either misheard her or we didn't notice on the receipt, but the receipt read lemon pepper fish. So when they brought out the fish, we brought it to the manager's attention. Not only did he let us keep the fish, he gave two skewers of fresh shrimp AND a coupon for $5 off our next meal. Incredibly impressed with the professionalism of manager Jesse and the entire staff. Will definitely be back. Thanks guys.
I enjoy going to Sea Island. This location is great. Nice environment. Clean restroom and my family always chooses the same table to sit at. Rite next to the fountain drinks. I always get the two piece fish with rice and fries. It's always just enough to get me just rite not to full and not still wanting more. We spend quality family time discussing things. The last time we were there I was unboxing packages that I ordered online. We feel real comfortable at this location. Overall it's a fine establishment. Outstanding seafood at very affordable prices. I had a half dozen Oysters on the half shell, which were fresh and tasty, and the "B" Lunch special, which includes Fried Shrimp & Fish with 2 sides and hushpuppies. All perfectly cooked.
Took my mother out for dinner I ordered the lemon pepper fish and she had the salmon and it was fantastic.
One the employees was honest and had told us they gave us the wrong size salmon and end up giving us a whole new filet after we finished dinning. Great service!
Wife and I visited and were greatest and taken care of by Ethan. Ordered our food and drinks and everything was explained. Got the diablo cakes and Mexican shrimp cocktail, both were amazing. I got the fried catfish, which was cooked perfectly. If I had to be disappointed in anything it would be the hush puppies. They were fine, just didn't stand out.
This is an older location but it's been updated. Service and food is consistently good.
Lyndale not sure on the spelling was so awesome. He just made me feel so special and had the best attitude. He seemed totally pleased to make sure everything was good and if anything else was needed. They are lucky to have him.
Love this place. Aransas Platter is my go-to when I come here.
As a person that does not enjoy shrimp a ton, I have to admit I could eat here every day. The food here tastes clean, not like it's been sitting in the fridge all day. Would totally recommend!
