This place was very good & the service was exceptional. This was the first time we had ever been to this restaurant and we were not disappointed. When my husband made the reservation, they asked if it was for any special occasion & he said our anniversary. Each person we encountered wished us Happy Anniversary. Our waiter called us by our names & we had rose petals on our table. They even took a picture of us & then printed a copy for us. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Excellent food & service!!
Food and service was amazing.
We shared the tomahawk steak between the four of us with 3 sides (which we shared) and we still had food to bring home.
Highly recommend.
Love the service by Eloy and Anthony!! They are the best! And always great food! Can not complain about anything! I highly recommend this spot!
Wow. One of the best ribeye steaks I have ever had. Delicious and tender, sizzling just as promised. The service was top-notch and the preparation fast. 5/7 would recommend.
First timer and we loved it! We were celebrating 3 Birthdays and we had a great experience. Drinks and of course the steaks were to die for. Can't wait to go back. Matt was our waiter and he made sure we were taken care of. Oh and to top it off, free valet.
We were at a meeting there , The salmon was great but they wanted us ti share with 4 people the side dishes that were to small even to get 1 large spoon full. The steak was dry and not tasteful and looked like a cut the 2 inch filet in half while the first ones came out a full 2 inches . I wiil probably never go back there . As we arived early and the bar was closed , the bartender did serve us . I thank him for that with a good tip.
The food was amazing! Definitely will be going back soon. The service was amazing, I really felt like I was family with the staff. ❤️
First time trying Ruth's Chris with my boyfriend and couldn't have asked for a better experience and/or meal! Definitely recommend if you're looking for a perfectly cooked steak!
I was at Concord Plaza for the Ruth's Chris Grand Opening party in 1993, and I've been back several times since when my travels took me to San Antonio. Last night (May 18, 2018) was my latest visit.
The steaks, broiled at 1800 degrees and served sizzling, are always amazing. On this visit I had the 11 oz. Filet, the Wedge Salad with wonderful blue cheese dressing and the Creamed Spinach. There are some great steaks in San Antonio, but the sizzling Ruth's Chris Prime steaks are unique.
The bar area, totally renovated since I was last here, was really hopping, for what they call Sizzle, Swizzle and Swirl Happy Hour, though we ate in the main dining room, which has a very San Antonio atmosphere. Joe, the manager, was really friendly, and our server, Mark, was great. The Concord Plaza location now has an outdoor patio.
There are two other Ruth's Chris locations now in San Antonio, one at the Grand Hyatt on the Riverwalk and one at on La Cantera Parkway. Both of those have valet parking (complimentary), but Concord Plaza doesn't, but it has plenty of free parking right in front of the restaurant. Highly recommended!
I went twice-both for business. The first time I got a chicken with salad. It was the driest piece of chicken I have ever been served at a restaurant. The next day I ordered the Portobello Medallion Salad. It was superb! Very tasting seasoning on both the Portobello and steak. The steak was cooked perfectly! I am so glad I went back a second time. The moral of the story is don't order chicken at a steak house!
Over the Top Steaks
Wow. It certainly lives up to its reputation as a fine steak house. Sizzling steaks came to the table still sizzling hot. Cooked to perfection. Generous family-style vegetable sides were also delicious. Simply perfection. Worth every penny.
Food and service were wonderful
Decided to dine at the San Antonio Riverwalk Ruth’s Chris restaurant for dinner with my friend. Michael’s Service was excellent and the steaks were delicious and prepared perfectly. We highly recommend this restaurant.
Having our Anniversary dinner celebration at Ruth's Chris has been a tradition for several years and we did it again this year. This year the food was excellent as usual, but the service was a little shaky. In the restaurant's defense, they had a large group dinner going on that night, but it required my wife's question to another waiter...not ours.... to move things along after a lengthy wait. Not what we expect from a quality place. The Manager was sincerely apologetic and the evening was enjoyable. Best steak in SA.
Ruth's Chris Steak House. While I had expected a quiet Valentine's at home with homemade spaghetti, my partner surprised me with reservations at Ruth's Chris. Our first date years ago was at the Ruth's Chris in Savannah, so this restaurant chain is somewhat special for us.
Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated promptly since we had early reservations. The restaurant quickly became more crowded as the evening progressed, so I am glad we were booked early. The atmosphere here is somewhat posh, and casual-business up to coat-and-tie would be the dress code normally. For this special occasion, we had sport coats and ties.
Since it was Valentine's, we chose the featured menu for the evening. The courses were absolutely amazing, and everything was perfect!
For our appetizer, we had the Ruth's Sampler. This is shrimp with cocktail and Remoulade (tarter?) sauces, some mushrooms stuffed with crab meat with Romano cheese on top, Veal Osso Buco Raviolis with sautéed spinach, and a demi-glaze sauce.
My partner selected the House Salad. This was super-crispy Iceberg lettuce, Hearts of Romaine and some baby greens mixed in, along with tomatoes, red onions, and garlic croutons. It came with a vinaigrette dressing. I chose the Lobster Bisque since I had never eaten one before. It was a different soup for me, and I quite enjoyed it.
In regard to our entrees, my partner chose the Ribeye, which he said was grilled to perfection. Being a steak person, this is high praise. He also had garlic mashed potatoes as his side. Since I am normally a seafood person, I chose the Chilean Sea Bass. This fish was broiled, came with sautéed mushrooms, artichoke hearts and a garlicky butter sauce. There was also a chunk of crab meat with it. I splurged a little bit and ordered a lobster tail to go with the fish. I had the Au Gratin potatoes, which I love, for my side.
Finishing off our dinner, the Symphony Dessert is one you need to try. As always, we experienced an excellent meal At Ruth's Chris.
Just for the record, our service was thankfully attentive, which in more upscale places can be “iffy” when we are two younger diners surrounded by a much older clientele (Just saying).
Many thanks go out to Ruth's Chris for providing my partner and I with a wonderfully romantic evening.
Best steak I've had in San Antonio. And I've eaten at all the other big name places(Bohanan's, Morton's, Fleming's and Ounce). None have impressed me the way Ruth's Chris has.
Wonderfully amazing steaks and great drinks. Only set back is its pricy but very tastey!!
BEST dining experience EVER!. Best steak I have ever had! I ordered the NY strip, and my boyfriend got the ribeye. Both were amazing! Every bite was heaven. Our waiter was also extremely nice and knowledgeable of everything on the menu. Honestly, it's worth the money.
This is the rock witch all others beat themselves against
Restaurant Week 2011. A+ overall. One of the top three in SA for service. Food consistently great-hadn't been in two years but no slip in quality. No major changes in menu, limited but very good selection of BTG wines.
Great Steaks. I have been to Ruth Chris a hand-full of times and always have a wonderful experience. The staff is always wonderful and attentive. My favorite salad is the Jumbo Chop Salad. It is always fresh and packs tons of flavor. I usually get the filet, but this last time I got the ribeye. It was juicy and prepared perfectly.
Always first class. 100% perfectly reliable restaurant - every time. Great food, service, ambiance. Pretty much unbeatable.

Steaks taste great and sides are also good but way overpriced. I can only afford to go on very special occasions.

Excellent. Ruth's Chris was an excellent dining experience. We went for our anniversary and upon arrival was congratulated on our anniversary. Our hostess then sat us and sprinkled rose petals on our table. Our waiter also wished us happy anniversary. Our waiter was very attentive and made suggestions for us on dinner. The manager even came out and wished us happy anniversary and gave us a free dessert. Our steaks were cooked just right and the whole experience was amazing. Overall great experience
Great Steak; However..... You have to try the lamb! It is the best I have ever eaten. Add that to the great service and quiet layout of the restuarant and you have one of the best places to eat in San Antonio....
Best steak house with the best wine list. Period.
An Old Standby!. This location near the airport is a little newer than some of the ones I've been to, which is just about every city I've visited that has one, including the original in New Orleans. Ruth's Chris are usually rustic & warm, which is what endears me to them, but this one is a little more slick and modern than most, but it still felt comfortable. I like to eat at the bar, but this one had about 8 chairs, which were full, so my friend and I just ordered some wine at the end of the bar and waited our turn. Once seated, we ordered the house special, which was salad, steak, and dessert for $ 39.95. I had filet and my buddy had rib-eye. Both were awesome, and perfectly cooked. The sautéed mushrooms on the side were just as good as the steak, and honestly, the salad I had was as good as a salad can be. My buddy had the Lyonnaise potatoes, which were perfect. Dessert was Carrot Cake, which is one of my favorites. The wines we had were GREAT!! Started with a Parducci Pinot Noir, and ended with the Coppola Claret, another of my favorites that always goes great with steak. Our bartender knew the menu and wines well, and made our service seamless. Parking is easy and they have valet if desired. All in all this was a terrific dinner that maintained its reputation as an Old Standby that you can always rely on.
Yes. Porterhouse is nice.....salads and sides are nice...great wine list...sparking water is nice...keep your water away from busboy,,lol
Good cuts. Been here a handful of times, with family a few times, then for prom, with my classmates.
I really like the mushrooms as appetizers, as well as the garlic potatoes. And a porterhouse medium-well, really does it good. Maybe a glass of red wine..mhm..
This was my first visit to Ruth's Chris in over 15 years. And, everything was okay. Some highlights and lowlights. The voodoo shrimp appetizer was really flavourful, and the cucumber salad was an ideal match. The cocktails were made to almost perfection; an Old Fashioned (without smoke) and blueberry mojito. Followed by the main dishes, boneless ribeye, and New York strip steaks with sharable sides of broccoli and scallop potatoes. The steaks were cooked to a prefect medium. The sides, however, lacked seasoning. There was no salt/pepper on neither side. I tried the "only" Merlot, which paired wonderfully with the steaks. The waiter was great. Very attentive and friendly. The dining area seemed clean, and I was able to catch some of the UFC preliminary rounds as I dined. The restrooms were not cleaned and very unsatisfactory. The women's restroom didn't even have soap in a dispenser. Paper on floors and unflushed toilets. This should be checked periodically throughout the day. Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Maybe I'll try another location in the city and compare.
Thank you for viewing
The food was amazingly delicious. We had the crab stuffed mushrooms to start. Hot and tasty. The house salads had dressing that tasted homemade. Both the thousand island and the ranch were thick and creamy. We both got the filet mignon and lobster. The filet was cooked to perfection (which medium is hard to do for such a thick steak) and the lobster was tender and flavorful. They had little ceramic candle holders with the drawn butter to keep it hot. The baked potatoes were hot and fluffy with lots of butter. We got the roasted asparagus which was excellent. I wasn't a fan of the lyonnaise potatoes. It might have been the thyme. On a side note I pan fried the leftovers this morning and added a little onion and garlic powders, salt and pepper to have with our eggs for breakfast. I liked them much better. My husband had the cheesecake and I had the creme brulee for dessert (it was his birthday). Both were creamy and fabulous. Our waitress, Amy, was polite, professional and very attentive. Keep in mind this is an upscale restaurant so it is pricey. For a special occasion I feel it was worth the splurge. Plus we have enough leftovers to eat for dinner tonight. The atmosphere was nice but I think it was a little too noisy for such a nice restaurant so I knocked a star off for that. Aside from that it was a 5 star experience.
I know this is a well-known place, but it was our first time ever going. We had a gift card and it was Valentine's Day, so we gave it a shot. I had heard great things and it lived up to them, but it is not somewhere I imagine I will ever go again. The ambiance was the best part. Since it was Valentine's Day, they had rose petals everywhere and it was very romantic. It was also probably the best steak I had ever had, but I am not a big fan of steak in the first place. My wife liked her chicken. The broccoli au gratin was disappointing and everything is overpriced.
1st timer and it was delicious. The best mashed potatoes. The ribeye was so tasty and the chocolate lava cake was scrumptious. They are very attentive!
We celebrated Christmas a tad late as I had a serious foot injury and was in the hospital most of December and part of January. Hubby pushed me in my wheelchair with my bum (yet healing foot) and we splurged on a very decadent dinner. A $500 dinner to be exact!!! I made a reservation same day on Open Table via Google Maps when I was looking into eating there. Ate at 5pm on a Thursday so was hardly anyone there and we were greeted promptly and led to a table right away! They courteously found a table not in busy area and helped fit my wheelchair with foot attachments into a comfy spot. Food was excellent, our server provided remarkable service and the Tomahawk Steak was a showstopper! I'm not a big steak eater, hubby is, but when I tasted his steak I finally understood the importance of QUALITY cuts of beef! Tender and soft, buttery with a much milder beef flavor than any other steak houses I've had!!! The appetizer, main course, dessert, wine and after dinner lattes were well worth what we paid. Will be heading back soon :)
Ruth's Chris is an amazing experience! They have an excellent staff from management to dish washers! Our waitress, Amy, was amazing. We were never in want for anything. The food, wow! I recommend Ruth's Chris to everyone who wants to enjoy an amazing dining experience.
Great food, fantastic service and a wonderful atmosphere. Will be visiting again. We interacted with Chris & Narissa. Both were so fantastic and helpful! The espresso martini was amazing. And the gumbo was delicious! Can’t wait to visit again
Great restaurant. Pricey, but I expected it. We were celebrating a few occasions so it was worth it. Crab cakes are delicious! It's very busy so I recommend making a RESERVATION before coming. We almost didn't get in. Before is my Snapper entree and my husband's Ruth Chopped Salad.
Catered party. Atmosphere was Christmasy. Loved the table settings. Parking was inconvenient, had to cross busy street to & from venue. All & all we enjoyed the experience. ❤
It was the best food & service I've had in a while. They worked our Christmas party like clockwork. My steak was cooked to perfection, drinks were great and the wait staff was very friendly and efficient.
Literally the best service and Food I have ever had not just at "Ruth Chris" but ever! ASK FOR "GABE" FOR YOUR SERVER IT IS A MUST!!!!!! AMAZING Sincere, cultured and traveled Man. We came in without reservations and last minute.. Narissa helped accommodate us. All the staff was friendly and went above and beyond. We had cocktails.. they were delicious. The food was great as well! We had a few different soups and loved them. Will be back!
