I feel that the new bigger Nama ramen falls short of the older and smaller Nama ramen. We used to come here when it would seat maybe 15 people and was right by Kuma's. The Nama sushi is as flavorful as I remembered, but the tonkotsu ramen, takoyaki, and katsudon were ok. The flavors were bland, but they were there. Food could've either used more time to marinate or just more seasoning. With that said, I'm also super picky and like my flavor to be strong and come through in every bite. Food wasn't bad, it just isn't what it used to be.
Fast service! Came out even sooner than they said it would. Amazingly flavorful, beautiful rolls..the GTR roll is a MUST try if you love Eel like I do.
We came at 6PM on a Saturday night. Didn’t seem too busy until I noticed they had only one server. It took about 5-7 minutes for us to be greeted once we sat down.
Love how detailed the menu is. Makes it easy to decide what you want!
While the service was a bit slow, the food comes out so quick! We started with the pan fried gyoza. Delicious with the perfect crunch. We also loved the spicy bacon edamame. This was something we’d never had before but was amazing! Only complaint, the edamame seemed a little over cooked. That might just be preference though.
The ramen was the perfect temperature and had all the perfect fixings in it! The nama roll was a great addition to our meal. We had to try as much as we could.
We will be back! This might be our new favorite ramen spot!
First off, I love the music. It sets the tone for a fun outing. The ramen is sooo good, no matter what you get. We tried the Nama roll, too, and it didn't disappoint. Mmmmm. Check it out and go back and try something new.
Been wanting to revisit since the location change and finally did! The food is delicious as has been and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit! I have a little gripe about the lack of reservations or communication but I went at like 8:30pm on a Friday night and had no problem being seated! It's just a bit difficult since I live across town and don't really want to just guess. Service is great with wonderful suggestions! Thank you guys! 😊
Food is pretty good. Service is very efficient though not terribly friendly. Prices aren’t too bad. No forks, so be chopstick proficient or bring your own. The music is way too loud. And along with the black white & red aggressive decor, the loud 90s rock, that made it hard to talk with our family members, is overkill. It’s not a good environment in which to relax, partly because the chairs and benches are hard and not at all comfortable. I was anxious to leave, even though the food was really good. I recommend getting it to-go.
Cool place with nice designs along the walls. Had to to wait up to 30mins to go in. The inside is compact and the music is blasting. It can be hard to have a conversation. We ordered the miso ramen, pork rib ramen and eel roll. I recommend getting all the options to put into your ramen, to make it better. The sushi was decent as well. No forks, just chopsticks but they give chapstick trainers if you need it. You’ll be the one to put the leftovers into the to go containers.
After living in Okinawa Japan for 3 years, I have had my fair share of authentic Japanese food. This place is AMAZING!!!!! Tasted like Okinawa! I love the atmosphere, the staff the music, and the food! Definitely suggest trying this place, you won't regret it! I will be back Many Many times!
Our food was really good so 10/10 there but we didn't really like being served in paper cups and bowls.
Also, The entire place felt anxious and chaotic for a minute because the head chef yelled at his staff for a mistake they might've made with seating a large group.
The whole restaurant got quiet because he got angry with his wait staff in front of everyone. I felt bad for the girls who were waiting tables while also hosting and seating other customers. It was really weird tbh.
Other than that experience, the place is small and date oriented. this is not a family restaurant, and would not do well with large parties considering there's little seating.
Overall, 4/5 stars, our waitress was really sweet, and the food was quick and delicious! 😊
Fantastic Ramen joint, new location across the street but same tantalizing flavor, I’ve been to well over 20 ramen places all over the state and the shoyu ramen has the perfect savory “umami” flavor, and dare I say the absolute best of them all! You have to try the gyoza as it is by far the best gyoza I’ve ever had in the state!! Both appetizer fries are fantastic as well. Love coming here when I make it in to San Antonio and you should too!
Reasonable prices for the quality of the food as well and very trendy artwork and Music!
Not to mention the service is almost as good as the food!
I do recommend making a reservation the day before unless you make it in on a weekday otherwise you may find a long wait for a table! A++
Best service and best food!, our waiter Mo was awesome always checking on our table every time he got a chance, he was very helpful recommending the best dishes on the menu on our first visit, we ordered dumplings, beef house special teppanyaki plate, spicy karaage ramen and the tuna plate, everything was soo delicious, highly recommend!!!. Fyi the place opens at 5 pm.
It's absolutely amazing. 5/5 stars. This reminded me of the best ramen place called hachiren that's in Okinawa. This is my new favorite place. There is so much flavor in the broth and in the add-ons. Plus, if you do to-go, they separate all the ingredients into another container, and you must add what you need. I also like how they saran wrap the bowls of broth so it can't spill.
This place is exceptionally amazing, and I, without a doubt, highly recommend it.
Pictured is the spicy karaage with sukiyaki fries.
Update: Spicy karaage was good but didn't seem as flavorful as I remember. I would still recommend this place, though.
All 5 stars, amazing place. Staff are super chill. The food is amazing, especially the Katsudon. Sick car meet there as well. Not only that but the mural outside is beautiful and the wall art inside is just as cool. Would recommend.
It was good find for ramen on a winter evening. They have indoor seating only. The waiting was a bit longer. I was very impressed with the way they were following all covid guidelines!!
Coming to the food...
The ramen is very good. They have 4 major options to select from. We tried the Spicy Karage ramen... I enjoyed eating it. We also tried the Teppanyaki. It comes with rice, veggies and choice of protein.
Please do try their Bankai Habanero Bomb - I wish they were selling a bottle of it.
Best ramen in the city! We love coming here and when me and my husband they recognize us as if we come every week (I mean yes its once a month we go but still!) very friendly staff and always have smiles upon their faces!
First off this place was recommended to me and my boyfriend by 3 different people. Having been there last night I would recommend going there. Now to be honest, it is small and it is a little loud for my taste. You need to make reservations and be put down a $5 retainer per person when making the reservation but then it goes towards your meal. You must be there within 10 minutes of your reservation time, your entire party must be with you to be seated and you have 1 hour. But I did not feel rushed. Also they only have chopsticks, luckily since I was told about this place beforehand I brought disposable forks for my party. Now for the food: the Takoyaki (octopus- filled pancake batter) balls were super good but really hot temperature wise. Sukiyaki fries (fries with ribeye, supra - siracha, spicy mayo) I don't even like spicy and I kept taking it from everyone at the table to eat more. Bao Bombay (open steamed bun with duck) it was so delicious after tasting my friends and we were halfway through the meal my boyfriend and I ordered one for ourselves. The utsa and spider rolls were my favorite, the snowflake roll was pretty good too. Now lastly we were so full that my friend and I only took a couple bites of our ramen and took the rest with us but the winner of the night and the one that we kept trying to eat after we were full and my boyfriend didn't want to finish because he was too full was the braised beef udon ramen: THAT IS HEAVEN IN A BOWL. I would make a reservation just to go eat that.

Visited on a Saturday around 8PM and a 30 minute wait for two. Once inside there is a "Vibe" that you cant ignore. Food and Service were fast, tasty and friendly. In my opinion the owner should spend a little money to clean the place up, makeover maybe, but I am just talking about overall cleanliness. Had the Steak and Egg Special, Scallops, Shoyu and Gyudon all were exceptional including the fries. Around $45 excluding tip. 5 Stars for food, 4 stars for cleanliness. Needless to say, I would return and flavor again.
