Possibly the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. Our server, Emma, was fantastic too. Food, environment and service was top notch!
First time going, it was recommended by a coworker. So glad we went! Our server, Elizabeth, was awesome. The food was amazing. A little pricey, but totally worth it. I highly recommend!

We had heard great things about Grimaldi's, so decided to try it out while our friends from California were here. Our server was very attentive and got our drinks and order going right away. The pizza and calzone were excellent. The manager even came by and talked to us. Our server was also kind enough to take a picture of the four of us.

I've probably been there a handful of times and I have never had any bad service the waiters have always been on point. Me and my family have always enjoyed the pizza it's delish
Awesome pizza! Probably the best pizza I have had in my life so far. Love the place and will definitely will be back on my next trip to San Antonio!
Great pizza...expensive but fabulous flavor...30.06 and 30.07 posted on entry...did not like that...
We were there last night celebrating my husband's Birhday we are regular customers like always great customer service no complaints here and pizza is always Amazing if there ever is a problem with food which is very rare always leave satisfied In how it is handled thumbs up to great customer service and great food
It was the best pizza I have ever had. The service was great. The wait was supposed to be 45 min but only 25 min. Worth it. I tried the Brooklyn bridge and Margherita. Amazing!
We were so happy to find Grimaldi's while visiting San Antonio. This place did not disappoint. The drinks and pizza was good. Service was good to. Would receommend.
Grimaldi's Pizzeria offers delicious pizza in a cozy atmosphere. One salad is enough for two to share. I would recommend the Lemon Drop Martini.

So I went into Grimaldi’s with a friend/ fellow pizza lover and we were kinda skeptical. When the waiter came up to us we were like “do you have hot wings?” and when he said “no” we almost walked out but I’m glad we didn’t. The pizza was AHHHHHMAZING!!!! We had a traditional pizza w/ spinach, mushrooms, bacon, and pepperoni and it was just heavenly, literally savored every bite! And the staff was super friendly, we walked in 30 minutes to close and weren’t rushed out when we were still eating after hours. Over all it was a great experience!!!!
About five years ago, before this blog, I visited Grimaldi's in Brooklyn, in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge. I had called to order a pie for takeout, and I rushed in to pick it up as my car was illegally parked outside. I was instantly struck by the happy and bustling atmosphere, and I instantly regretted that I didn't have a dine-in opportunity. Anyhow, we scooped up our pie and made tracks for Dyker Heights.
My favorite pizza in town, we are here...well, let's just say "often". Service at the bar is always great, pizza is tasty and we are never disappointed. Weekend evening crowds can be crazy, we typically come for lunch. Grimaldi's is a no-fail, go-to spot.
I love this place. Great solid pizza, been here a million times and never been disappointed. Can't go wrong with a straight up pepperoni and basil. They just consistently make a great pizza.
A good NY style pizza. I like the pizza, good crust, we usually just get the cheese to keep the kids happy, real torn mozzarella, and the Mediterranean and house salads are good, and even a small is enough to share. Join the birthday club and you get a free pizza on your and all relatives birthdays and anniversary, which is nice as it can be a little pricy, $18 for a large cheese. I am a fan, real deal brick oven.
This pizza is made of fresh tomatoes crushed up, very lightly spiced and the cheese is fresh mozzarella. The crust is very thin and comes out lightly crispy. If you prefer spicy tomato sauce, avoid this pizza, but if you like fresh tomato sauce that taste only of fresh tomatoes, then this is the place for you. I myself like only fresh tomato sauce with a hint of basil. This tomato sauce, you might call bland but I liked it. I would like more cheese on it. I thought the cheese was a little on the skimpy side but my little 4 year old grandson and I did enjoy it, I don't think my husband would like the cheese pizza though. I am sure the toppings will add the flavorful spice he would like.
Great Pizza!. Pizza was really good and we really liked the crust! (dinner from San Antonio)
'09 Pretentious Pizza?. Nope! Just excellent N.Y. style pizza.
Joseph, our expert server, explained everything my wife and I required to make intelligent menu choices.
The small House Salad @ $9.00 is adequate for two servings. This is a very good choice for two to share and is very tasty and pleasing to the eye. The vinaigrette dressing is delicious. We ordered 12 inch personal pizzas, one sausage and pepperoni and one black olives. These arrived as we were finishing the house salad and both were perfect examples of N.Y. style pizza. In short, they were delicious. The crust, sauce and toppings could not be faulted.
The facilities and decor is pleasing and described in detail by previous posters. You will not be offended by your surroundings.
Pizza chain restaurants are predominately aimed to deliver adequate, average quality pizza at an economical cost. Grimaldi's is a chain that is aimed at the higher quality end of the pizza spectrum. In my opinion this location delivers on that mission. This menu pricing is similar to the excellent Florio's just up the street. In short, do not expect to see Domino's pricing. Fear not, you will be pleased with your food and service. We expect to return to try more pizza and the calzone.
MUCH better than Dough!!! Nice layout, great service, even better pizza!
Just Pizza. Don't look for anything other than pizza on the menu, except for a selection of salads. The pizzas come in three sizes: personal, 16" and 18". The 16" is certainly adequate for 3 people. The crust is thin and the toppings are predictable: artichokes (out of a can), sausage, meatballs, garlic, fresh tomatos, etc. Small salads are actually quite large and can be shared. Caesar salad was overly dressed and the croutons were right out of a box.
The Quarry location is large, comfortable and you'll find mostly families. Be prepared to go on a quite a quest for a parking space -- spaces are limied near the restaurant so be prepared to circle and circle and circle...
NYC Nostalgia. The interior displays proudly the restaurant's NYC roots. The walls are adorned with many black and white photos of NYC landmarks. The tables have the cliched red and white checkerboard table cloths, and the chandeliers are a play on the chianti wine bottles holding a candle. The service was very amiable.and efficient . I had the personal meatball pizza and my wife had a ham calzone. We split a small Caesar salad. All the portions are adequate for two people by the way. The salad was served cold and properly dressed with a dressed with a dressing that was not as salty as some can be. The pizza was super thin and held up well to the toppings. The crust was light and had a good chew. My wife's. alone was stuffed with diced name and a nice blend of mozzarella and ricotta. The crust was similar to the pizza on that it had a nicer bite to it without being doughy. Overall, a very pleasant experience.
The Best!. Absolutely our favorite pizza in SA! I am a fan of thin crust, and this place rocks! Love the Mediterrean Salad too!
Me and my husband eat here quite often and have never been disappointed! It is truly one of my favorite places to eat and we've pretty much tried all the pizzerias in the area...we actually discovered this in corpus Christi first-the pizza is always crisp, the ingredients fresh and always packed with flavor! The only time this place disappointed me was when they couldn't cook the pizza fast enough because they were cleaning the oven :-)
Really good thin crust pizza, but beware of the cost of toppings. Adds up quickly.
Fantastic!!. I loved it!! Only problem... I wish I had ordered a larger pizza!!
Sure it's a little more pricey then a fast food pizzeria but if I wanted cheap pizza, I would have gone else where. With a taste like Grimaldi's Pizza, I would pay twice as much. Beautiful building and all around fun place to eat. My husband and I enjoyed eating lunch here for a date night... It was a perfect choice. It's kid friendly also but definatly a romantic place if you choose it be.
We had been to the other location(la Cantera) and were kinda disappointed. We had a much better experience at this location. We were seated promptly upon arrival and had great service the entire meal. The pizza and calzone were brought out hot and fresh and tasted delicious. Huge portions!
Good Pizza~ too Expensive. The Pizza and Stromboli's were very good! Not much to the menu though~ pizza, salad, or stromboli.
The pizza was a bit pricey esp if you wanted toppings~ you have to pay for anything put on top except the cheese or sauce!
Thought Florio's and/or Purple Garlic are just as tasty and cheaper!
My husband and I ate there for the first time this afternoOn after a movie at The Quarry. We loved it: atmospere and decor; gracious, informative, prompt servuce; fabulous pizza; visit by manager to see how everything was. Nice wine selection. Wine served in individual small carafes. We are planning our next visit and taking friends. Thought prices were very much in line with quality of the food! A new favorite.
Not For Us!. Tried to go during lunch and they would not seat us until all members of our party was present...mind you, she was driving up and the restaurant was empty at lunch time on a Friday. Put a fork in-em...they are done at this high rent location.
Good service good flavor of pizza cannily and cheesecake good. A little pricey after adding all parts of the dinner including sangrias salad pizza and dessert. As a first timer I really enjoyed the dining experience.
Excellent!. I've been waiting for this place to open up for a while, hoping it would be as good as the one at La Canterra. I wasn't disappointed. I've been here twice now, once for dinner and once for lunch, the food and the service were hitting on all cylinders both times. The manager was watching everything very carefully and it showed! This is exactly the type of pizza I like, thin and crispy. They use just the right amount of toppings. I had some left to take home, and they even put foil between the pieces to keep them separated. It heats up wonderfully, by the way! I'm munching on it now.
I'm not sure why their review scores are low because this is my 3rd time here. Service is fast and friendly, the food is freakin delicious, the guests are friendly. Come in, expect to be here an hour or 2 to have fun, eat a delicious starter, and a damn good pizza. Parking can be a little difficult, but I find it easier behind the building there's always parking available. Bartender was Patrick today, awesome bartender, fast and very attentive. The ambiance is very welcoming, family friendly, and large parties. Very clean, score shows 100%. Download their app and get yourself a free starter no matter what size. Thank you! See you all again, very soon!
Pizza haven! We had their The Don (which is the overload meat), classic Pepperoni with light sauce and the Margherita pizza. We also had their bruschetta which is somehow okay (expecting for a better bread used to it, but turns out still okay) . Then the highlight was the italian soda!
It was a long wait at the time we were there (6pax). Even we are #1 on the waiting list since no table is available it still happens to be a 40-50mins wait. The service starts kind of off vibe and ends well.
Still enjoy the food and the dim ambiance of the place.
Grimaldi's is definitely worth checking out. It is absolutely on the Boogie side of pizzerias but good nonetheless. A few cons at least for this particular location in the Quarry. Parking can be a female dog for sure so if you can uber there. The wait staff were pleasant enough but did not seem super attentive. The prices for pizza at least are 100% on the high side. 2 16in pies without drinks was 57 bucks.
Now for the pros. The atmosphere is excellent and very New York. Its cool to see the pizza guys tossing dough in the air while the other guy loads pizza into the coal brick oven. The quality of the pizza is insanely good. Definitely not you typical fast food chain pizza experience. The crust was exactly what i was looking for in a pie and the sause was sublime. We got The Don (loads of meats) and the Margherita pizzas. Both I highly recommend. This is a cool place to go, both for great pizzas and a unique atmosphere. I would give the pizzas 9 outta 10. The overall experience 8.2 outta 10.
I do not have enough fancy words to describe the awesome deliciousness my family got to enjoy. The wait staff was phenomenal. The food, just wow. The caesar salad was the BEST I have ever had in my life! The pizza was dynamite. I seek a pizza place every trip and this one did not disappoint! If you are looking for some delicious pie and a good dining experience, bring the fam (or yourself) to Grimaldi’s!
Nice pizza place to take the family! The pizza was pretty good, my wife prefers a crispy pizza crust but it was still good. We did wait a considerable time for our pizza even before rush hours, we got there a little after 4pm on a Sunday. The staff and waiters were good.
Plenty of parking available but you may have to circle round the area for a spot. Got there around 6 and waited about 10-15 minutes for a table for 6. Ordered The Don and a Margherita pizza (18 inches) which was plenty for our party with two kids. Pizza was light and crunchy and delicious. Service was great. Had a nice dinner with family.
Tried a new place that was a bit above our normal budget for eating out, but everything was absolutely fabulous. The bruschetta trio were refreshing and absolutely delicious. The pleasant mix of the cool tomato & basil and red pepper& ricotta paired with the hot toasted bread was the perfect balance💋. The calzones are quite big, we ordered the smallest size and it was still as big as the plate. I ordered mine with Roma tomatoes, spinach, extra mozzarella, and garlic. My husband ordered a pepperoni, bacon and extra mozzarella cheese calzone. The kids got a 16" Quattro Formaggi and they absolutely loved it.
Pizza is really good. Crust is awesome. It's really pricey though, especially when you start adding a bunch of toppings. It's good though, nice place. Our server Jordan was really good.

This is one of my fav pizza places. Baby spinach salad is a great starter. The crispy bacon, red onions and dressing tasty insane. The Don pizza is my go too. The smaller pepperoni and meatballs are out of this world. Jason and our waitress Charlotte were very polite and professional. If you like pizza you will definitely love this place!
Atmosphere didn't disappoint. It embodied a pizzeria vibe. The food was great, salads and pizza. The service or server was very attentive and accommodating. There were seven of us for salads, pizza, and drinks that were just waters, tea, and soda. It was a little overpriced, in my opinion, but the food was great.
The NY style pizza is on point and some of the best I've had in the area! Definitely worth a visit.
Very good restaurant the environment is beautiful and brings a romantic feeling if you're looking for a great place as a couple to go on a date. I have done streams at this location before and it always impressive when they make the food in front of you. I definitely recommend the brick oven pizza at it is one of the finest establishments for brick oven pizza and the food is made with the freshest of ingredients. If you're in the quarry district of San Antonio stop by and try this place out.
1st time for lunch. Great place, nice atmosphere, big & clean. Sat afternoon, 12:30pm. Waited at the bar for approximately 25 minutes until a table was ready. 1 barmaid with a packed restaurant? It took her 10 minutes to approach us & then 10 more minutes to pour a draft beer & a soda.
Upon finally being seated, at least 10 to 15 more mins for the waitress to take our order. 1 large pie, nice & easy. Upon refreshing our drinks, we were told there was no ice so we sipped luke warm beverages. Pizza was great. Fresh, hot & delicious. Ordered desert...cheesecake. Was told by 2 different waitresses that certain selections were out at the moment it became quite confusing try order something else. We waited 20 minutes for that & finally had it to go. But, we will go back. Probably on a weekday when its less busy. The pizza was great.
Well this was interesting. Did you know that all Grimaldi locations stop taking orders at 3pm to clean their oven so you can't get any pizza until 4:30? Neither did I when I showed up at 3:10.
The food was very good, the servers were very polite and nice but we finished shopping and then waited a hungry hour twenty.
Won't ever make that mistake again.
