The manager Joel went out of his way to make my Christmas dinner special. I had surgery on my leg on the 22 and was unable to stand to cook dinner so I planned ahead of time and ordered the holiday feast with ham. It’s supposed to be enough to feed 4-6 people. However, this would not be enough to feed my family of five. Joel took care of me and made it right without charging me a whole lot more. He was very understanding and sympathetic to my situation. We love Le Madeline and love Joel! Thank you for making our Christmas dinner special!

I enjoyed lunch here the other day. I ordered the Chicken Friand with mushrooms and potato soup. I also purchased some mini fruit and lemon tarts for a to go order. I’m giving four stars because there was not very much seating (I wish we could have eaten by the fire). I also noticed a gnat in the food case which was a bit unappetizing.

I only get desserts at the bakery in the Togo section. They have the best sourdough bread in San Antonio, if not Texas. I’ve moved from San Francisco to San Antonio 20 years ago and have been searching for the best sourdough in town and unable to find any. Now I have this restaurant with sourdough. That does a very good job. I am impressed. They have fantastic baguettes, great chocolate chip cookies. And great service.

Charming but it was a bit stuffy inside, food and service was good. The winner is the coconut creme cake

A great French Style cafe, where the pastries are so good, and Mediterranean style lunch and dinner will have you coming back for more. There is plenty seating inside and outside, but during the cold months the central fireplace is on, which always attracts a crowd. The ideal time to come to LA Madeline if you don't want to wait is during the after work crowds are headed home, like we did July 3.

My son asked to go there for his birthday breakfast. We went early, which gave us a choice of seating. I absolutely love the manager(?), who I joked with throughout our visit. I'm not sure if he was from France or French Canadian or... but he adds to the charm of la Madeleine, and the food is wonderful.

Relaxed and unrushed place to eat, read and people watch with friends. Even with social distancing. Service was fine if not a factor in the stay. Entrance is a bit cramped for distancing. But orders flow quick. Better menu illustration and posting outside would help. Tried the French country breakfast. Great potatoes. Unremarkable bacon, not crispy or with meaningful taste. Eggs were excellent. Croissants were excellent. The Linzinger cookies are excellent. The new breakfast sandwich was utterly unremarkable however. Too high priced, too small, and the quality, if not BAD, is not up to the standards I would expect having seen and enjoyed so much else.

Excellent service! I love this specific location because every time I've visited I am greeted and taken care of. The Chicken Ceasar Salad with cheese, bacon and La Madeleine's own dressing is absolutely delicious! Also the potato galette is also a great menu item. Pastries are wonderful. Coffee is fabulous, bread is amazing, and I can go on and on about their dishes since I've been a happy customer since 2012. This place is worth it whether you dine in or pick up a to go order.

This was my first time here. The signs were a little confusing on how to order, so I asked for help and it was still kind of confusing but we figured it out. The tables were pretty spaced out inside so that was nice, mainly because voices carry very easily in here. I ordered the Quiche Lorraine and it was not bad. Definitely missing seasoning, but the avocado toast and country potato soup were decent. Nice first time here.
