Maddy McMurphy’s is an excellent place to watch your favorite sports event or just have a quick bite. The cocktails are great and reasonably priced. The staff are super friendly and the snacks are top notch. Overall a fun place and one we stop at whenever in San Antonio.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at an Mcmurphys and I must say it was a delightful experience. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm Irish hospitality and a lively atmosphere.
The pub had a charming and authentic ambiance, with traditional Irish decorations and memorabilia adorning the walls. The cozy seating areas and dim lighting added to the inviting feel of the place, making it the perfect spot for a meal or a few drinks with friends.
Now, onto the main highlight – the food. The menu was a delightful collection of classic Irish dishes, as well as some pub favorites with an Irish twist. I couldn't resist trying the Irish Pasties It was a hearty portion of meat, mixed with vegetables,Each bite was bursting with flavor, and the combination of the savory meat and veggies was simply mouthwatering.
To accompany my meal, I opted for a pint of Guinness, the iconic Irish stout. It was poured to perfection, with a creamy head that made each sip smooth and enjoyable. The pub also had an extensive selection of Irish whiskeys, which was a delight for any whiskey enthusiast.
The service throughout the evening was top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, making recommendations and answering any questions I had.
Overall, my experience at this mcmurphys pub was fantastic. The delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and exceptional service made it a memorable dining experience. If you're looking for an authentic taste of Ireland combined with the warm hospitality of an Irish pub, I highly recommend giving this place a try.
Irish Pub. Guinness, Bangers and Mash, Ruben sandwiches. Sassy and wild bartenders. Essentially everything I look for in a tourist trap. Caution, I may have had a couple of pints too many and taken a lyft. Service was spot on. Food was good. Would recommend.
BEST SPECIALS !!!
This place is absolutely amazing! I love their $10 Pint & Pizza special or the $30 2 pizza & pitcher special.
The beer was absolutely cold and delicious. The pizza was to die for! Made fresh. ❤️
The environment was older/mature crowd that knew how to pump things up! They had the games on the biggest screen as you walked in. Restrooms were very clean.
Decent Irish pub in San Antonio, walking distance from the Hyatt Regency.
Pasties were excellent - chicken sandwich too.
Irish whiskey selection not bad.
Personal favorite of my fiancé and I, this was one of our first dates. Great service, lighting, energy, service AND they show UFC fights with exclusive vip seating. Drop in and stay a while.
Cute little bar/restaurant just off the Riverwalk. Friendly service. Their Maddy's martini was delicious. Food was ok.
Native Texan here. Moved to Ohio after joining the military and just visiting grandparents.
The wings and Bulldog Bock is definitely a combo to get if needing a quick bite.
10 wings.. Two flavors: garlic parm and buffalo… and I’d get again and again and again. They weren’t too small, lightly crunchy (so you don’t have soggy wings) and mild in flavor.
The Alamo Bulldog Bock is by-far the best bock I’ve had, and I wish it sold and distributed in other states. However, the story is they brew it solely for the pub. So, grab a glass if you have the chance! It’s one of a kind.
Irish pub/sports bar in the middle of downtown San Antonio near the Alamo & Riverwalk.,Giant 160″ Video Screen high above the bar and multiple big screen TV’s, large selection of beer and shots, a nice patio. We had the tasty "Timmy pizza" - soft , cheesey & yummy garlic / parmesan wings. Washed it down with a pint of Guinness! Great special's and Happy Hour . Service was on point.
Stopped by the weekend before St. Patrick’s Day as we wanted a pint of Guinness as well as some food. Great place to watch sports. In addition to the Guinness on tap, we had to try to the green beer. We started with the pretzel which was large and tasty; for our mains we had The Parker pizza and the chicken bacon ranch sub. Both hit the spot. Will definitely come back next time we are in town.
Service, very good. Got the cottage pie. Very good, flavorful. Would give a five star, however, if you want to have a real British feel, you've got to make the music more British traditional. Rap and R&B doesn't work for the feel of this place. Recommened traditional classic English music.
We stumbled into this Irish Pub / Sports bar when we’re were walking from the Riverwalk to our hotel. It seemed like a mix of tourists and locals, and the prices were more affordable than the Riverwalk itself. It’s a relaxed atmosphere with a mixture of music and sports.
The reuben sandwich was pretty good and the waitresses/bartenders were flirty and fun adding to the atmosphere. The only reason for the four stars on food really had to do with the beer. How does an Irish pub not have Harp?
Pretty good bar. Came here with a friend and was pretty satisfied with the overall experience. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Got some wings and they were great. Still crispy and covered with enough sauce. Great place to go and watch games when they’re happening.
This bar was awesome, special thanks to Ryan Wood , and Gabe they made sure that the Marine Tankers were set up with one of the best bartenders and server. Cassandra the bartender not only did a fantastic job but she ensured that the Marines were well taken care of. Her initiative, dedication, and loyalty to Maddy Mcmurphys was well demonstrated with the actions she showed during our event. The server was just as good, Nailieu was on track, not only was she busting her hump she ensured that no Marine Tanker went dry. Would be proud to have a person like that in the Marine Corps. Hats on with a salute to the whole group. Semper Fi!
Peaches was an absolutely amazing waitress!! We loved the atmosphere, the food, & the drinks! Clean restaurant, including the restroom...a must for all girls! No complaints from me or my boys. So, I give Maddy McMurphy's 5+ stars & highly recommend you stopping in for a drink & a bite to eat!!!
We're from out of town and wanted to find the Bears game on a big screen. We googled "sports bars" and this was one of the places that came up. I'm so glad we went there. There were about 10 big screen and ALL of them had the Bears on. We got to watch the game on a 106" screen. It was amazing along with the $3.00 green beers that they served. Even though the Bears lost, it was, a nice experience.
This was the perfect place to watch USA soccer! Fun time with friends, good drinks and great food. Our server Maggie was exceptional! She was friendly, helpful and efficient. If you go, ask to be seated in her section.
The pretzel was hot and delicious! Had some drinks and watched Michigan lose the game. Great place and nice people!
