Went to eat tonight at Ming's Noodle Bar. I've had their food at the farmers market and to go. This was my favorite experience. The place was comfortable and intimate. The food tonight was exceptional ! Ordered Sloopy Bun, Pork Belly Buns started off the dinner just right. Flavors were delightful , a nice balance of meat and vegetables. For the main entrees, we ordered the Lucky Dragon, Ma-La Noodle, Vietnamese Rice Noodle bowl. We all shared from each bowl which was fun and didn't limit ourselves to just one item ( which is something I always recommend doing, because I can never decide on just one thing) The Ma-la Noodle was so good and ultimately the bowl I scooted in front of me most of the time.).
Ming's Thing is what San Antonio has needed for a long time. You leaving feeling satisfied and happy. If you are bored with the every day menus of other Asian restaurants, you need to visit this place.
It's food that you really can't find any else.
I loved it so much that when I go to San Antonio I look for them. It's definitely worth the 4 hour trip to eat their food. The summertime noodles and pork belly steam bun are to die for. Loved it!!!
I love Thai food, but the fusion of flavors at Ming's is FANTASTIC. Believe me when I say that I instantly fell in love with the food, and will continue to keep coming back.
We tried a Ming's Thing breakfast at the San Antonio Pearl Farmer's Market. Fabulous plate of eggs, sautéed kale, pork belly and German sausage! Yum - go try them!
The definition of hidden gem!!! So so good.... Ill be a regular for sure...
Had steamed buns (vegetarian, pork belly and pulled pork) and spicy noodle soup. Everything was better than excellent. Service was as good as the food and prices are great.
The chef at Mixtli next door recommended this place, so we came in for lunch. We tried quite a few things the hot noodle bowl bolognese was amazing and so was the pork belly bao. Everything we had was great but those 2 things really stood out, definitely will be back soon!
First time we had a steamed bun ... taco? We think it's version 2.0 of a tortilla. Amazing food and prices. Keep up the great work!
The best crispy pork belly I have ever eaten! Can't wait to go back!
Had it at The Pearl. Loved it. Very tasty. Great customer service!!! Can't wait to sink my teeth in more.
Had the pork belly baobab and summer salad the the Pearl farmers market....the best, guess where I am going on Wednesday loved it!!!
Eat this all the time at Pearl Brewery Farmers Market! I also buy her sauces! Ming's a Beast!!!! Best Asian style food in Town
The sloopies are amazing! Definitely worth buying!
Amazing! It's truly an art the way they pair all the flavors together We love it so much we go every week! San Antonio's bests kept secret
Very tasty buns and soup. Really enjoyed the food. Will go back again
I've loved visiting Ming's booth at the Farmers market so I can't wait to go to her restaurant!
Awesome food and nice location to dine in. Pork Belly is amazing!
Great selection and very fresh food. I was a little unsure about what a "steamed bun" was, but I was pleasantly surprised. I tried the pizza bun, and it was delicious. The seaweed & cucumber salad was made with super fresh ingredients. Plus, they support Texas Public Radio, so they must be good.

Had a blast at Ming’s, the go-to spot for fantastic Asian eats. Tried their killer pork, chicken, and tofu buns – each a flavor bomb! Talk about presentation – these buns were like edible art. The chill vibes and mix of old-school and modern feels in the place set the tone. Oh, and don't even get me started on the chicken bowls – they’re so good! It's a vibe! 🍜🥢
First time dining here. Our waiter, Isaac, was very helpful in describing the different options they offer in steamed buns. We ordered his recommendation, which was the Bulgogi bun. That was absolutely the best one I've tasted. The Sriracha mayo gave it just the right amount of kick. I ordered the Miso Ma La egg noodle hot soup with smoked pork belly at a level 4 spicy level. OMG! It was nice and hot, fresh veggies, and the pork belly balanced out the flavors perfectly.
My son ordered the Sichuan Noodles, which is a cold noodle dish. He absolutely loved it. Everything was fresh and very flavorful.
Definitely a must return.
Ming’s is a hidden gem. The food was on point. The buns was soft and the toppings fresh and savory. We wanted something light and this hit the spot. Food came out fast.
Cute little place. Ok prices, but the portions of the rice bowls and fries are huge. Def. has a Deep Ellum vibe to it. I ordered the island tea, hoping for something similar to plantation tea from Hawai'i - it wasn't. Not a lot of flavour, and no sweetness to it at all, despite the dragon fruit chunks. We ordered the loaded fries, shared the beef bulgogi rice bowl and my partner had the bulgogi bun.
Bathroom was ok - the non-handicap stall has NO WAY to lock, so that was a bit startling. The other stall wasn't clean, so I took my chances. The toilets don't flush well - there's no water pressure.
The kitchen seemed clean, what I could see of it and the staff was courteous.
Bao buns here are delicious. The Mala Tofu is hands down my favorite. They have great cocktails too!
The service was really awesome here!
Very friendly staff.
✨ If you’re looking for Bao buns that are packed with flavor, this is the place to check out if you’re in the area!:)
My bf and I got the Bulgogi and pork Bao buns and they did not disappoint!
Ramen was okay. Would recommend looking somewhere else if you’re specifically wanting to satisfy a ramen craving.
I really enjoyed the food here. If you like authentic Asian food visit Ming's. Everything was fresh and delicious. I had the Balgogi rice bowl. It was awesome. My friend had one of the Buns, he loved it. And we shared Ming's wings. The wings were meaty and delicious spicy favor.
Really a great place to eat.
Their buns were soooo good! Their crunchy teriyaki chicken might not be the best I’ve ever had, but they’re still good to eat. Definitely go-to place to eat with groups or to have romantic dinner
First time here, This place is awesome the food was so delicious, and everyone is friendly and helpful. Place is clean lovely atmosphere.
Everything was delicious. Definitely try this spot if you’re near downtown and parking behind was easy and free! We had a noodle bowl, rice bowl, and tried three kinds of bao buns. All were cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable which makes a huge difference. We will definitely be back!
I’m so glad I got lunch here today! I got the tofu bun, spring noodle bun, and the vanilla cream soda. Everything was sooo good! The tofu bun had two peppers next to it on the menu (working on my spicy tolerance 😪) but still got it and found it to be perfectly spicy but still flavorful and the noodle one was less spicy and equally flavorful! All for $12. My one negative comment is that both buns split after the first or second bite which resulted in the filling falling out ☹️ Even so, I’ll be back for sure!
This was my first time eating at Ming's. The food was awesome! So very tasty. The flavors you could taste the red curry and the coconut also the fried Chicken was really good I added that to the bowl, and then had some really good sake. They give you a lot of food. For how much food they gave you the price was very reasonable.
Try the bulgogi buns, and thank me later! Best steamed buns I’ve ever had. Everything here is delicious and doesn’t upset my stomach. Great ambiance, indoor and outdoor, to stay a while
BEST FOOD I'VE EATEN IN 2023 🔥 🍜
Astronomical flavor.
Face twisting textures.
Perfect presentations.
Walking in to the location, the bustle of the city, young people with yoga mats, mural art and CBD shops- you might not realize that this restaurant is more than a well manufactured idea.
My spouse and I visited Ming's in its early days when it operated out of a rail car tucked away in Olmos Park. It was magical.
Coming into Ming's new location at Elmira, I was excited to see if it would capture any of the old feelings I had sitting on the wooden deck, slurping noodles while napping cats eyed me from a distance.
Let me tell you. I cannot emphasize enough- my entree, beer pairing, and steamed buns made for the single most flavorful dining experience of my recent memory.
The food is hands down miles above anything I have eaten in 2023. The service paired a beer with my entree, and I couldn't have been happier. Ming's has delivered on its history with a diverse menu, a kind young staff, and execution worthy of notoriety.
I cannot wait to get back!
Thank you so much to the founder, the management, and the staff responsible for delivering this service.
We'll be seeing you!
We first had the steamed buns at the farmer’s market at the Pearl and loved them, so we wanted to go to the restaurant to try more! All the steamed buns are great (especially the smoked pork belly and the bulgogi beef). The cilantro-lime noodle bowl was great as well. Another time we went, they were kind enough to split and serve the noodle soup bowl 3 ways for me and my friends to share. The food is great, and the people are always so nice! I have many good reasons to go back :-)
I've been a fan of Ming's since she ran the Ming's thing booth at the Pearl farmer's market, then set up shop on McCullough in the rail yard, and now she really blossomed in a great space a stone throw from the Pearl. The seaweed and cucumber (with added red cabbage) was delicious, distinctively Japanese in flavor, but the cucumber and the cabbage added crunch and interest. The Szechuan cold noodles were the best interpretation I ever tasted, spicy and flagrant but with the added variety of red cabbage, edamame and carrots, and I had it topped with grilled shrimp, which were fresh and cooked just right. My wife had a Nuoc cham hot noodle bowl, also overflowing with lettuce, Vietnamese fresh herbs, broccoli perfectly blanched and with a fascinating, rich sauce. Even the raspberry unsweet iced tea was well balanced between the raspberry and the tea aromas. Easily the best lunch we ever had out in San Antonio, we were both filled but not feeling heavy due to the high vegetable content. All of Ming's learning through her experience with farmers' markets and food counter, now in a beautifully decorated, relaxing space with a big outdoor terrace for the summer. Plenty of parking due to access to the parking under IH 35. We'll have to come back to sample the rest of her entrees.
I came here yesterday with my friend. The place was very clean and decorative. A lot more progressive than some other Asian restaurants I have been to lately. There was less than 6 people in the store. The food had a lot of flavor and was visually appealing. They have different stubborn soda flavors which has been my favorite fountain drink soda since last year. I just wanted to mention that I like to get suggestions from employees on what’s good to order. So I asked the girl who took my order if they had anything that has noodles and is sweet. She recommended the summer noodles. I added marinated chicken to the noodles. The noodles were served cold (which I feel like is important to mention) and were not sweet at all but instead a little spicy. I wasn’t happy with her suggestion and it seemed like she didn’t put a lot of effort into her suggestion. Overall my experience was above average. I will be back but next time I’ll study the menu instead of asking for a suggestion.
UPDATE, just came 4/23 and soooo incredibly good. So flavorful and delicious. Customer service needs improvement but food was outstanding. I had lemon chicken rice!
