Past Tense Texas but Cool. I walked into this place and immediately felt like I was taking a step back in time. There were cool retro pictures and paintings on the walls and heads of tasty animals as well. They had an old cash register on the counter at the back. The best part about this is that they didn't hire a consultant to design the look. It wasn't one of those pretentious places that creat the illusion that you are in an old style Texas eatery. It is an old style Texas eatery. I had the silver dollar pancakes with eggs and sausage with a large iced tea and it was wonderful. I can't honestly tell you that I fit the usual demographic for this place as many of the patrons were in cowboy hats and cowboy boots that looked like the owners actually worked in them, but I felt at home. An honest meal at good prices. A comparatively unknown San Antonio landmark.

On the search for a good Chicken Fried Steak and Bobbie’s gets recommended often. The portion was nice, but the flavor was perfect. The breading sticks to the steak when you cut. And you can really cut it with a fork if you wanted. Very tender. Gravy was perfect. Could have used a larger portion of potatoes, but that’s minor. Service was over the top. Extremely friendly and just a great experience overall. I heard that their guard is really good, but you have to ask for it since it’s not on the menu. Definitely will try it next time.

This place was delicious!! Very clean when you walk in, staff is very friendly an polite. So in total spent on food not including tip was $40.12. We had a sweet tea an a soda and 2 The wrecks. Its a lot of food you can even share one. So good very hot an fresh, I'm definitely going back to share unless your really hungry. Enjoy.

To the traveling foodie crowd here is a must try spot for breakfast or lunch! Very good portions just be sure to go hungry. Just wish some breakfast plates had eggs with it. Otherwise it works. Lots of locals. Small Cafe with restroom outside around the place.

If you have yet to try Bobbie's, you are DEFINITELY missing out. From their famous Home wrecker to just simple breakfast dishes. You will be amazed on quality and most importantly fresh hot food. This was the first time visit for my family and I. All I can say is the food is amazing here! We all got different breakfast plates and chose to have a grilled biscuit with butter instead of toast. Everything is made from scratch. Home cooked comfort diner style of food. I almost forgot to take pictures of the food. The prices are actually reasonable for the amount of delicious food they serve you. The atmosphere is cute and small. The employees are nice. I defintely will be returning here. Next time around we will be trying their massive onion rings!

Recommended by another friend. Wow. Wait this is due two wows so wow wow lol. Our server Susie was really great. It's a small place. Another (HITW) hole in the wall that deserves a stop. My friend said it's usually very busy and you can't get in quickly and you could tell that was true by the waiting area, the large waiting area outside the front door. We lucked out in the middle of the week a little bit after the lunch rush. Walked in and sat right down. FYI on Google Maps you can get on the wait list if there is a wait. Be hungry or be ready to take food to go. My friend got this chicken sandwich on Texas toast that was almost funny how big it was. They had to eat it layer at a time, which is how I ate my burger as well. We couldn't figure out what the heck is on those fries but we both attacked our fries first and hard. I normally don't take fries to go because most fries don't generally reheat that well but these fries were going home with me because even if I had to eat them cold I was going to have them lol. My burger had a waffle bun, like two waffles, literally. Took the burger to another level. We both had to take half of our food home. Full disclosure, the plan was to share a piece of pecan pie. This pie was made with love and lard because you have to have both to have a great pie. Delicious flaky crust. Filling was not overtly sweet. Just sweet enough. We were interested in that appetizer plate that has a little bit of everything, but I can tell you right now if we would have ordered that there's no way we would have been able to eat any of our meal LOL. UPDATE... Breakfast time for lunch Everything was delish. The house biscuit is a fav but those might have been from breakfast and were a bit dense. It didn't stop us from eating them, but just ahead up.

This is the first time eating here, I invited my mom, sister and niece for lunch. not disappointed at all. Everything was delicious. Friendly service. I will definitely return for some more of the chocolate cake., Chicken fried steak, waffles, biscuit and gravy. Salas and chips . Greg's southwest salad. Everything we tried was delicious.
