A little gem on Del Mar street. Small intimate setting with fresh dishes with a Mediterranean twist. The lamb, beef and fish dishes are all excellent. The sauces make the difference for me. Just a nice place for a great meal.
This little gem has become my weekly routine. After eating at restaurants worldwide for 40 years and living in France for some time, I can attest that this is ONE OF THE BEST CHEFS IN THE WORLD. His sauces are second to none! I wish reviewers would stop focusing on service and other irrelevant’s and focus on the food. The menu is Inspiring, different and one of a kind. You will never find these gourmet dishes anywhere else. Enjoy!
Incredible meal. This is a very nice small restaurant that might be overlooked as you walk down the street. Make a point to find it for an out of this world and fairly priced meal. We loved our tangines and appetizers.

My GO TO restaurant in SC. Wonderful aroma & ambiance makes you feel like you are a gem in Italy or France when you enter. All dishes are delicious and service is exceptional! Chef-Owner’s attention to detail shines thru in all aspects!
I wish I had thought to take pictures, because the food here is beautiful and incredible. I can’t believe it’s not always packed. I had the Wild Mushroom and Asparagus Fettuccine and my party also had the 10 Hours Braised Boneless Short Ribs, the Lamb Meat Loaf, and a special called the Beef Cheeks and they were all amazing. My party especially loved the flavor and how tender the meat was.
Our server was Josi and she was great!!
This is an unassuming place that has great food. It doesn't look much from the outside. It was packed on the inside. We chose to eat at one of the 2 tables outside. Service was very good. Nice friendly employees that appreciate your business.
Why 5 stars? First this is a sweetheart of family run restaurants and while small and quaint, has great value, super food and a great selection from start to finish. Absolutely nothing to complain about.
I spent the week in San Clemente this week for a family vacation. We’ve dined out all over the place in this area every year we come to visit. This restaurant was by far the best experience AND flavor than anything else I’ve experienced in the area. The owner himself was our host, our waiter, and was helping his cooks all simultaneously. We were seated immediately, he visited our table frequently, we were well taken care of the whole time. We also found out that everything cooked here is made from scratch in house. The quality of the food is incredible. The flavors are diverse and amazing. If you’re looking for one of the best restaurants in the San Clemente, this is it. The best Mediterranean food I’ve ever had.
Literally, one of the 2 best meals I've ever eaten in San Clemente. So sad we didn't try it sooner as my neighbor has been raving about Village Mediterranean for a while! The lamb Oso Bucco was better than FABULOUS!! Hubby had the Sea Bass with Crab pesto, Pear salad and Panna Cotta....also excellent. The biggest problem for me was choosing among the many delicious sounding entrees!! Guess I'll have to go back soon to try them!!!!! But seriously, skip the chains from Laguna and try this place

Lovely meal at a lovely restaurant. I had the lamb chops. They were really delicious. However, it was quite a small plate for $38. But delicious. I also had the chocolate macadamia torte, which was a bit dry lacking in flavor. Smallish piece at $9 was a bit high. I would have given it a five star if prices weren't so high for the small amount of food. But my server was great.
The food here is always unbelievably good as well as the service. We've been here several times including for our anniversary and asked the waiter to recommend a bottle of wine each time. After a couple questions his recommendations have always been superb. The atmosphere gives a comfortable relaxing feeling as you enjoy dinner. It does get crowded during peak hours.

I consider myself a foodie and make it a point to eat at as many James Beard nominated restaurants across the country whenever I can in NYC, Philly, St. Louis, etc. Tonight, the Village Mediterranean Rim blew me away with the excellently prepared entrees that my husband and I ordered. We chose the lobster ravioli for an appetizer and it was delicious. The salad was so fresh and as my husband stated, the dressing was perfect and did not overpower the salad. We shared the Colorado lamb shoulder tagine, with a side of couscous and roasted vegetables and could not believe the delicate taste and how excellently prepared this dish was. I can tell you without a doubt that this restaurant is one of the best in Orange County and quite honestly, it rivals any James Beard restaurant I have been to for taste. I travelled to Morocco years ago and since then have searched for tagines across our country that have been expertly prepared. Tonight, I found it at Village Mediterranean Rim. Unbelievably good and we can't wait to come back again and experience more entrees
Such a hidden gem. The hummus is amazing. Love the poached pear salad and goat cheese salad. Everything is delicious really. So easy to walk by and completely miss it. HUGE mistake. Best Mediterranean in south OC
I had dinner somewhere else and I was walking and I stop there and ask for Coffee and dessert we ordered cheesecake it was so delicious and I was so regret didn’t have my dinner there I felt food is going to be amazing there and I planned to go back for following weekend I still cannot get over the taste of cheesecake and amazing coffee I send my friend there and she had food there and she told me it was so delicious and she want to go back again ❤️ I highly recommend this restaurant
