We visited this restaurant during our stay at Bahia resort for the veterans day weekend. The breakfast was just nothing special.. lunch menu doesn't have many selections while a fish sticks order for kids was really disappointing.but, First of all regardless of the time you are here the staff are extremely friendly and very welcoming specially our dinner host Victor not to mention a very nice card the crew signed for our wedding anniversary which was really sweet. The sea food options are exceptional the sea bass is a state of the art meal with very well balanced mix of flavors and ingredients, the chilled lobster was very fresh and done perfectly.. I would say this place still deserves a 5 star with exceptional dinner menu a lovely outdoor beach seating area and amazing staff. Thank you again Victor! Cheers!
The Bahia is an amazing place. The rooms could use a little attention. But if your coming to San Diego and want an amazing room on the BEACH tell them San Diego Johnny Surf sent you!
The restaurant is located on the premise of Bahia Resort Hotel. With reservation, our group is seated promptly. Our server, Nic, was courteous and knowledgeable of the menu, got our drinks and even confirm w a member of our group of the shellfish allergy! The food came out timely (the restaurant was quite busy). Everyone really enjoys their order. My Rock Ceviche and Ahi Poke were very good. The ambience and surrounding were wonderful as we were observing the sunset while working on our after the meal cocktails. Thanks for a fun time and good foods.
I recently visited a Dockside 1953 located in Bahia Resort Hotel during my stay at the resort and had an amazing experience. One of the highlights of my visit was the fresh flatbread veg pizza that I ordered. I appreciated the fact that the staff was able to customize the pizza to exclude the meat, which was a nice touch. The pizza was delicious, and the crust was perfectly crispy, making it an enjoyable meal.
To pair with my pizza, I ordered a glass of Talbott Chardonnay wine, and it was fantastic. The wine had a great taste that complemented the pizza, making it a perfect match. The restaurant's wine selection was impressive, and I was pleased with the recommendations made by the hostess.
The restaurant itself had a warm and inviting atmosphere, with a lovely outdoor seating area that provided a beautiful view of the surrounding area. The vibe was amazing, and the staff was accommodating and friendly. The hostess made sure to check on me several times to ensure that I was comfortable and enjoying my experience.
Overall, I had a fantastic time at this restaurant, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal and a relaxing atmosphere. The customization of my pizza, the amazing Chardonnay wine, and the excellent service all contributed to a wonderful dining experience. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant in the future!
Was staying at Bahia so went here a couple of times. The fire tables were great when it was under 60 out. The staff were great, especially with two kids as part of our group. The food is all pretty good. I had the steak one night which is flavored very well, but the Hawaiian hasselback potato that came with it was boring. I also had the banh mi flatbread which was excellent and had a nice kick to it. I also sampled the scallops which were cooked very well. The kids enjoyed their meals and I was impressed with how well the fruit was. I would pass on the puff pastry dessert as it's mostly pastry and I found it rather dry. The butterscotch pudding though was fantastic. The only issue for me was pricing. These dishes all tasted fine but had some of the highest prices we paid in San Diego.
My daughter had the carne asada, and I had the club. The club sandwich and salad were enough for two people. My daughter loved her meal. The service was excellent.
Wow, the restaurant is OUTSTANDING. The service was great, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the leadership had definitely trained their staff to focus on our needs.
I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Dockside 1953. We were told that the location is new because they moved from the other side of the building. It clearly was a wise decision.
The restaurant is beachside and allows for a nice constant breeze. This makes for a very comfortable place to enjoy a meal.
Our server Katrina took care of us. We had nice food provided in ample portions. On Sunday mornings they have live music that adds to the atmosphere. It was worth the trip to visit here and I look forward to doing it again soon.
Stopped in for a bite to eat after a morning walk around Mission Bay and Beach.
We sat on the patio and our view was of the bay with boats, the Bahia Bells, chairs long the bay side and people out and about enjoying them selves.
We were seated quickly, our server was incredible there when you needed her without being over attending. The food was hot, prepared to our request and well presented.
We will definitely return for another meal.
Must say sitting there relaxing... look out we have now booked a sightseeing tour on the Belle.
Wife was craving some good Seafood on our last night on San Diego Vacation, Called and the pleasant receptionist booked us in a last second reservation. Was greeted upon coming in and the Manager (Matt I believe) seated us at an amazing outside Bayside, sunset view table with a fire feature. The atmosphere was incredible, calm and relaxing.
The service was top notch and very calm and pleasant all around. The food was all above expectation and amazing. We had The Ceviche, Shrimp cocktail and the Seared Scallops, and they were perfect!
Overall a simply wonderful experience and the views, live music and staff make this a must stop for us going forward. Thank you!
We had lunch here that was excellent! The service and food were wonderful. It was also lovely at night for cocktails!

So glad the Bahia added this seafood restaurant. Large wine selection. Many seafood options. Everything was reasonably priced. Oyster prices are outlandish however at $4 each. The mussels were great.
The hosts and servers were very pleasant. The outdoor dining area has plenty of comfortable seating for any type of weather.
Went with my son for lunch, nice view, clean atmosphere. Waitstaff is friendly and food was really good
My only issue is that the food is quite pricy, but I'm not used to Cali prices, so I'm not sure how bad it is. It would be nice for food to be included as complementary for resort guests. I have no complaints about the service though! Jessica is a very friendly and attentive server, and she remembered us from the day before. I don't remember her name, but an older lady was very amused and helpful when I asked for a container for the seashells I collected. As long as you can afford the food, it's convenient and worth the visit! (They also have non-dairy milk options and goat cheese!)
Ok this was a WONDERFUL idea and I’m so glad we came here!!! 1. The chicken lollipops were amazing and 10/10 would recommend and 2. The staff was SO nice - the waitress even had recommendations when we told her I was visiting and another member of the staff offered to take our photo when we were taking photos! Melanie rocks - please go here if you love a meal that’s very well made and incredibly nice/thoughtful service!
Lovely outside area looking over Mission Bay. Food was good for the price. The only. Issue would seem to be the decor which was lacking in color or cheer. Drab paint, servers dressed in flat blue, and tables that must have been purchased in expensively. Hard to understand as it could have been such a cheerful, and festive place to eat. Yet, I would certainly recommend it for the food and evening sunset.
We had the finest sea bass ever in a spectacular location with very attentive service. The key lime tart was perfect and a great finish to our meal.
