Stopped in for a quick late night sweet treat. Service was great. Very nice workers. Cute and quaint establishment in the heart of Gaslamp district. I would have rated it 5 stars but I had a pistachio cake and it wasn’t good at all. My husband had a carrot cake that was amazing and we shared vanilla gelato which was great as well.
After dinner dessert a must. No coffee this evening but their Ameicano is one of the best I've had. Always a nice place to visit
Quick stop by to grab a coffee and a grub and we absolutely love this cute little creamery in downtown SD.
Sawen was a very patient and a phenomenal host and answered our questions and did definitely guide us doing in making the right choice with what we wanted ( a dark chocolate ( which she did tell us in advance that it want fully dark chocolate) along with gelato ( pistachew). We got an Americano and as well an Earl Grey tea skin with.
All in all a fantastic experience for a quick stop by and definitely would recommend them!!
Fabulous caprese grilled panini and dark hot chocolate with whipped cream. 😋 I definitely recommend it. Great selection of gelato and desserts as well. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
The gelato tastes great and they offer more than just sweets. You’re only allowed to taste two samples of gelato prior to placing an order. The store front and furniture need a bit of a tune up. The seats are a bit worn out, but I take it a sign of good times spent with good company.
They had so many variety of ice cream flavors, especially chocolate. They also had chocolate sweets, which I wanted to try, but I went ahead to try their chocolate ice cream flavors first. The ice cream flavors I picked were: chocolate orange and mint chocolate - both were decadent and rich. I could not finish my two scoops and had to take it home. The inside has plenty of tables and seats, but the atmosphere did not seem warm or inviting as I hoped! Nevertheless, they've got good ice cream and I hope next time I come by, I want to try their chocolate sweets.
What I order:
-Salted Caramel & Vanilla Gelato
-Fennel Sausage & Peppers Pizza
-Roasted Rosemary Chicken Sandwich
-Strawberry & Banana Nutella Crepes
Feedback:
My favorite was the Strawberry & Banana Nutella Crepes. There were so many toppings in it, lots of fruit, and Nutella🥰 Crepes were thin and slightly chewy. The flavor of the gelato was amazing, smooth, and soft texture. Love that there is garlic aioli in the chicken sandwich. The chicken was grilled juicy. The pizza was very cheesy. The sandwich and pizza were freshly made, came heated🔥I love the Bloody Orange Italian soda that they had.
Nice area and atmosphere but we ordered the crepes and unfortunately weren’t impressed, they came with the filling and just a chocolate or caramel drizzle. Would’ve been amazing if it had whip cream or condensed milk. But the customer service was great!
Delicious truffles as well as a chicken crepe. Ice cream made in house. The sitting might be limited during busy time. There is also uncovered street patio.
Delicious dessert shop in the heart of the Gaslamp District, with plenty of options for all tastes. Countless flavors of gelato, slices of a variety cakes and pies, coffee and tea, and more. We loved the chocolate cheesecake paired with a hot cup of decaf...the perfect way to cap off our night downtown.
As affordable as any other place here, top notch service, fast and SoOoOo good. The worker cleared our plates right away. I am coming back here again when in the neighborhood!
Definitely try the pistachio
Pomegranate reminded me of concentrate. The strawberry has bright notes mixed with bits of strawberry seeds.
Amazing, delicious and decadent gelato! A must. I had the Nutella Cream and Dark Chocolate. They let you try samples before deciding. The flavors all look delicious, so you'll need a few samples. I tried the cheesecake and the sea salt caramel, both were amazing.
It was the last stop on the best date we've been, thus far.
The woman greeted us before we came in. This really is a magical place to visit... AND they have much more than just chocolate! Their chef is amazing as well! Highly recommend a visit to this cafe!!!
Gelato here was some of the best gelato I ever had! While the gelato was reasonably priced some of their food items were pricey, $2 for ONE piece of candy and $11 for a small slice of cake.
We came here pretty late so they did not have the boards but they did have quite a bit of options.
It was busy for a reason - again the gelato here was a win.
Customer service was OK, it wasn’t too bad but had poor attitude and did not have a very welcoming vibe. More like get your stuff and get out. (Rating based customer service would be 3.)
Still would return for sure!
My husband and I now have a tradition baby go on a late night gelato run after dates and I found this place because it was open even at 11:00 p.m.
Parking is a bit hard to find so he just waited on the side of the street with the parking lights on while I picked up some gelato.
We got a medium with Kinder Bueno and Stracciatella.
Both of them were good! The Kinder Bueno was extra smooth and creamy. Like it was so soft it just melted away into your mouth. The flavor was on point as well and I would definitely want to get this one again.
We also really loved the Stracciatella - it was a vanilla base with pieces of chocolate shavings inside. I've had this flavor before at other gelato stores but never with this much chocolate presence. We could actually get the crunch in every bite.
Only downside was they don't offer a smaller size with 2 flavors, so if you want two flavors you have to get the medium and essentially pay $8 with a credit card fee! A little too expensive for gelato I would say.
