We happened upon Little Lion Cafe this morning we were a tad early, we waited 15 minutes. I ordered a cappuccino, I was really impressed...yay!!! Shortly after our food arrived, OMG the shear Beauty was extraordinary! Then the taste OMG, flooded with emotions, the flavor, the memories... this is a Michelin star restaurant... so worth a detour! First it is exciting to see the food of the Coulon's incarnated in a younger generation, it was fresh, young and vital! I would have loved to sit there all morning but I took my second cappuccino to go as I wanted to leave asap to allow someone else this extraordinary experience! Thanks to all the Coulon's who brought this moment in time to me and my family...truly food that feed the soul!!!
Wow! Amazing! Everything about this place was great. From this little cute homie feeling, to impeccable service just to have served amazing breakfast...yup, just my kinda place. I’m from New Jersey and I wish this place was there. Best breakfast I’ve had so far In San Diego.
This little local gem had amazing food and a great selection. Breakfast and dinner both offered unique flavor combinations that were winners. Also friendly service.
Great little place by the ocean! Loved the food. It's a tiny place and you will have to be patient but it's worth it.
Little Lion always has amazing fresh food and great service!! Highly recommend eating there!
Little Lion Cafe is a GIFT to the palate. The food is nothing short of excellent. I sampled several things, as there are so many intriguing items on the menu. The Waffle, Burger, and Eggs Benedict were all amazing. To my surprise, the Super Food Bowl was my absolute favorite! The flavor and thoughtful assortment of fresh and healthy goodness was sensational. Lastly, the family story behind the Little Lion Cafe is also noteworthy, touching and inspiring. Who wouldn't love a story involving 3 smart and beautiful sisters that join forces to open a "rocking restaurant" inspired by their Belgian roots and Grandparents/Family?!! Little Lion Cafe is one special spot!!
It is amazing. We had to wait an hour and it was so worth it. The staff was outstanding and food was amazing. Not to mention the Mimosas were fabulous ️
I am enjoying another lovely breakfast at our neighborhood gem! Each visit I have enjoyed excellent service along with their interesting, locally sourced and flavorful menu.
Great food, drink & service! Place is small but well appointed. Great location - walk along the cliffs after a meal.
Excellent food and service! A tiny place with impressive dishes.
Easily the best food in town. The brunch is amazing every day. The weekend specials are phenomenal. They recently started serving dinner and it's just amazing. They have a short and sweet menu and everything is done with skill. The ingredients are the freshest in San Diego. The plates are artistically presented as well! Love this place!!!! Must try! Not to mention the picturesque sunset cliffs are just next door!
Excellent food and a lot of it organic. Nice portions but pricey for breakfast
Little Lion recently started serving dinner, and this was absolutely the best that could happen to the folks living close by. I don't live here and that's a shame considering that you now can eat really good food that's not the usual sandwich and steak menu. We want here twice during our vacation and maybe we should have gone once or twice more! Thank you guys for really good food and best of luck in the future! From the the two swedes.
Amazing food. Superb chefs. Great service. Avocado toast is on point.
We came here for breakfast and there was a line out of the door however the wait wasn’t too bad. I would definitely recommend making reservations here on their website though.
We ordered the Sausage Bowl and the Belgian Waffles. The Kale & Sausage bowl was great. The buttermilk biscuit was nice and flaky and the gravy was savory. The real winner here though was the Belgian Waffles. The waffles were heavenly and definitely the best I’ve ever had. If you get anything here get the waffles.
This cafe is definitely a gem and I plan on returning here very soon.
We arrived in a large group (9 adults, 6 children), we waited a bit and it was worth it. The foods were delicious, and the service was top notch! The Egg Benedict w Crabs, Glow Bowl, and Sausage Bowl did not disappoint, fantastic flavor.
Moroccan salad & matcha lemonade in a lovely outdoor setting. Food was great & served quickly. Dog friendly. Highly suggest making a reservation. This place is a gem!
Incredible spot with a true OB vibe. The food is exceptional quality with a range of hardy to fresh foods. The shrimp 🍤 sandwich is a must try dish. The hostess was quick to have my party of 3 seated quickly even with a wait list. A truly local spot, and I suggest you come early to get on the list then you can walk the sunset cliffs while your table is set. We are so happy to have found this boutique spot with farm- fresh flavors
Great place to treat yourself 🥰 The crust on the coffee cake was DIVINE. The staff said the owner isn’t shy about the recipe, and let me leave a note with my contact info🤤. The cafe can get quite busy on weekends so it’s best to make a reservation. Or put your name in and walk Sunset Cliffs.
San Diego has many great breakfast and brunch places, but the Little Lion Cafe is one of my favorites. The Belgian Waffles are the best I've ever had - light, fluffy and crispy. The texture and flavors are perfection. We also had the Eggs Benedict with Crab Cakes and that was flavorful with large chunks of crab meat. The Belgian potatoes were nice and crispy. Everything we had was delicious. Be prepared to wait if you arrive at peak times 10-11AM, but you can always take a walk around Sunset Cliffs to pass some time.
A great neighborhood Cafe serving Breakfast and lunch only. The menu offers many choices; organic ingredients!
The drinks offered are eclectic and unusual but very delicious. I had the Turkey/Bacon/Avocado Sandwich with Belgian Potatoes; to drink, I had the Belgian Chocolate Mocha. The sandwich was delicious, the potatoes were done perfectly...crispy edges very soft inside.
Be ready to wait; if you can, make a reservation. They offer inside and sidewalk seating. Waitstaff is very friendly!
What a sweet little place! It's packed inside but in the best Paris Cafe kind of way. They have a great selection of beverages with some choices that aren't on every menu. My husband got the sausage plate and he even enjoyed the kale! We started with the cinnamon coffee cake and it was killer. Definitely make reservations because "little" is in the name for a reason. This is an OB gem and I hope they're there for years to come so that I can return whenever I visit San Diego.
I had seen the Little Lion on previous visits to the area and there was always a line, so I made a note to get there eventually. Fantastic! Beautiful presentation of creative breakfast dishes, warm and friendly service, and just a great vibe overall. We’ll be back.
We were finally able to have brunch at Little Lion Cafe near Sunset Cliffs. We’ve tried without a reservation before, but there is always a long wait and at a certain point, the restaurant stops taking reservations. I recommend going online and making a reservation in advance. They are not on Open Table.
The food was very good. Mix between farmhouse fresh and southern cooking. We had a goat cheese strata and the sausage bowl (highly recommend).
The service is excellent, but keep in mind they’re very busy so things don’t happen quickly. Only negative comment I have is with the table closest to the door (we sat here). The amount of people coming back and forth to get a reservation was very distracting and at times you’re eating while people stand right next to you. You start to feel a little claustrophobic. Space is limited at this restaurant so I’m sure people don’t mind sitting here in general.
The Little Lion Cafe is an awesome foodie spot in OB. Super dog friendly, amazing service, and the food is simply famous!
Delicious food and very friendly service. They were very busy and we had to wait for a bit but it was definitely worth it. Will be back when we are in San Diego again!
We had the glow bowl and little lion burger, I highly recommend stopping by.
Would love to put 6 stars!
The only negative reviews here are from people who wanted a “quick bite”... As the age-old saying goes, “you cannot rush perfection”!
Best bacon I’ve ever had, hands down.
15ish min wait, 15-20ish min for the food to come-completely worth the wait! If you’re in Point Loma, look no further for an amazing brunch spot!

Good, fresh food, just would’ve liked a tiny bit more attention to detail for the high prices. The Benedict was delicious except for tiny serving of the frozen potatoes and the really cold avocado/tomato inside (though they were very fresh!) - would feel more comfortable paying $20 if I got a good serving of homemade potatoes and if the food didn’t feel so cold bc of the refrigerated tomato/avocado. I also got a matcha lemonade and it didn’t seem like they knew how to make it, the matcha hadn’t been sifted so there were tons of little chunks of matcha inside. Coffee was just fine, pretty watery. The crispy bacon was the highlight, absolutely perfect and I’d go back just for that.
I went here with family and had such a special meal. The staff let us sit at the bar while we waited for a coffee, which I definitely would recommend (for a party of 2) if the seats are open. It’s a beautiful little café with a wide spread of food offerings. I recommend getting the double portion of poached eggs and another plate to share. The poached eggs are great value and delicious. Also great to go for a little walk along Sunset Cliffs after!
The food was delicious, however we had to wait a bit longer. We wanted just grab a late breakfast real quick and for that is not the best choice. Otherwise, it’s a cool place.
