Loved everything about this place. Great food, great beer and better service. This is as good an Irish pub as you will ever see or eat at this side of Sean's bar in County Westmeath.

As close as I could get without being in Ireland. Friendly staff (hostess was from Galway), fantastic Guinness Stew, and of course a Jameson to wash it down made for a perfect night. If I lived in San Diego, I would live in this pub! Slainte!

Had a great time here watching The Droppers! Enough space so we could all get up and dance. Efficient staff who brought food and drinks (all very tasty) quickly. I would definitely go back here if they have live music.

A must stop on any trip into San Diego. Always something new to appreciate on every visit. Would strongly encourage anyone looking for the real deal in what can be often hard to find in the GasLamp, to absolutely put this place on their list.

Stopped in for an Irish coffee and appetizer while in town for work. Everything was delicious and service was fabulous. If you stop in, take in the beauty and history of the 100 year old bar that was brought over from Ireland.

Great food an atmosphere! We come to San Diego every year for comic con and have just discovered this place. It will now be a part of our yearly tradition! Try the Mac and cheese, it's amazing! Also major props for delicious bread pudding! Highly recommend trying the Jamison infused mint shot!!!

I had the "Irish Sampler" (Shepard's Pie, Guinness Irish Stew, Corned Beef & Cabbage, and Boxty) with a Guinness. Delicious! Our server, complete with a true Irish accent, was attentive, helpful and fun. There was a guitarist downstairs that provided the perfect blend of music to our conversation. This has earned our MUST GO TO list for our future ventures to San Diego.

We loved this place! The first time we visited, we ordered the corned beef sandwich with chips and the potato and leek soup with bread. Both were absolutely fantastic. Service was good, ambiance was great, and price was reasonable ($37) We liked it so much, we returned the next day. We ordered bangers and mash and re-ordered the soup. The bangers tasted a little too much like breakfast sausages, but the meal was still very good I’ve starred this pub in Google Maps and will 100% return next time I’m in the area

Loved this one! Traveling across the US, Irish pubs are a bit hit or miss. This was a hit. Walking in, you immediately hear the music and see the old wooden tables and chairs and bar. Everything “feels” right on. The tap list and whiskeys on the drinks menu confirm the same thing. Food options are solid, too, including a strong highlight of more traditional Irish fares like potato soup, champ, and a variety of pies. For the less familiar, there’s also a good variety of American dishes- the guy next to me said the burger was really good. Personally, I ordered the lamb shepherds pie - it was probably the best one I’ve had on the west coast. Delicious meat and veg blend with an incredibly flavorful gravy. The potatoes and Irish cheddar on top were baked to perfection. Overall, excellent meal and it was relatively inexpensive for CA. Highly recommend visiting!

Great vibes. They nailed the Irish atmosphere, menu, music, everything. We watched pour a perfect Guinness and enjoyed a fabulous frozen Irish coffee (usually too sweet everywhere else). We stayed for an hour or more just enjoying everything! Job well done!

I love a good Irish pub and this is a good Irish pub. Fish and chips were great as was the lamb shepherd's pie. Had a couple pints of Guinness as well and was amazing as usual. Check out The Field Irish Pub when you're in the gaslamp area. You won't regret it!

This is a boisterous spot in the Gaslamp District. They have an extensive food and drink menu. The hearty food had deep savory flavors. Don't pass on the gravy and chips!

During the stormy visit of Hurricane Hillary, we found refuge at The Field Irish Pub, and what a gem it turned out to be! Amid the weather chaos, the lamb shepherd's pie I had was absolutely amazing. The hearty flavors and comforting atmosphere made it the perfect choice for weathering the storm. The Field Irish Pub is now my go-to spot for both comfort food and shelter during storms.

Very cool atmosphere and excellent food! Our waiter was one in a long line of some of the friendliest, welcoming and helpful people we have met on our visit. Thank you! The food was incredible. This was our first visit and expectations were beat. I had the Irish Sampler for dinner and it included smaller portions of corned beef and cabbage, lamb shepherd's pie, Guinness beef stew and whiskey chicken boxty. Highly recommend!

This was an average restaurant. I wanted to really enjoy it. I was on my own and was shown a dark table for two. I should have asked to be reseated. I used my phone flashlight to read the menu. Since I was on my own, I was reading news on my phone in any case. Service was just above minimal. I was asked if I wanted another beer once. My order, Fish and Chips, was served on simple tray and very hot. The fish was not very tasty, but stayed together very well. The coleslaw, as I recall, was just two small bites. French fries did not make an impression on me. This restaurant was expensive, but it looked like all restaurants at this location were similar. The street was busy and I hadn't decided on the dining location before I walked to this food area. I guess the sticker shock stuck with me. I prefer to try other locations before coming back here again if/when I'm back in town.

My husband is from Ireland and has been in the US for 2 years now. He misses the food from home terribly. I often take him to Irish pubs when we find them hoping they have dishes that will scratch that itch for him. One place served a "curry chip" with a side of cold curry sauce for dipping?!?! What Americans think is Irish food is not what it actually is, so he's been disappointed every time. Until now!!! The Field is legit! The sausage rolls were flakey and flavorful, and the curry chip was AMAZING! My husband was so happy. I can see why he misses Irish food. Thanks for making our day!

If go to a place called Irish Pub for the first time, order Irish Coffee and Guinness beer and decide whether to eat food or just chips. This means that it is confirmed by those two whether it's Authentic or Plastic. If you want to go to a non-Authentic place and pay money to eat food that's not delicious, you can just go to a regular restaurant. I stopped by St Patrick day in here but there were so many people that couldn't go in, So visited here again on Sunday morning to have an authentic Irish breakfast. Of course, I ordered Irish coffee and Guinness first, and then I ordered breakfast with anticipation. As expected, it was a decision that wasn't wrong and the idea was correct. It was an authentic Irish breakfast and enjoyed the right fish & Chips for the first time in years. Irish Coffee was similar to Buena Vista in SF But unlike there , It puts chocolate Powder Here, And the smells and taste are conceed to the end . The chips were fresh and used by unfrozen real potatoes . It was excellent and thinking to go once again this coming weekend . If there was one flaw, the black and white pudding was different from the authentic. It's not an imported product that I am thinking they make in local . Nevertheless, this is a very good restaurant and bar. I didn't ask, but the name of this place as the title of a famous play in Ireland.

Visited today, a Monday, for lunch. Enjoyed the Lamb Sheperd's Pie and a couple of glasses of water. The Sheperd's Pie was great. A no-brainer to recommend. The atmosphere is much like an Irish Pub. The waiter was friendly. The drink menu looked good, but wasn't really ready to start drinking. Drink reviews will need to another day.

What a great find while walking around San Diego. Only had drinks but would have loved to try food. The bartender was literally the nicest guy! We had such a fun conversation. Thanks for making tourists feel welcomed! I forgot to add that my husband had their own IPA and loved it!

I love this place. Strangely, I think it’s now my favorite spot in San Diego. Call me simple, but the food is delicious, the service is prompt and the 80’s sound track makes me happy. What a nice atmosphere and reasonably priced too 😁. Well done lads, I will have another beer.

This is a great Irish pub. Certainly the best one I’ve been to on the West Coast. Everything in it is authentic, the lighting was perfect, and the music was great. A fine selection of good whiskeys, and all the beers you need to make it Irish on tap. The Guinness pour looked really good! Also had dinner here. I had the burger and they cooked it exactly the way I like it, the staff was friendly. Plenty of room. As Irish pubs go it was pretty fantastic. I didn’t see room for a band, but I wasn’t there when you would typically have live music, so I am going to have to come back and try again. They have Notre Dame☘️football on TV in the fall, so it gets its 5th Clover 🍀 🍀🍀🍀🍀 #GoIrish
