Sorrentos was delicious! The restaurant across the street wouldn't seat us, even though we were only missing 1 person. When we looked across the street , there was Sorrentos. We checked out the menu and it had tons of delicious pasta choices and pasta with seafood. The hostess was so kind and welcomed us right to a seat even though the one missing person in our party was still trying to find a parking spot. We were seated on a gorgeous patio and served by an outstanding waiter named Fabrizio. He is a sommelier and recommended the best wine. My parents had the cioppino and thought it was the best they've ever had. I had the Bolognese and it was delicious. At the start of our meal we also got the most delicious bread and pesto dunking sauce. To end the meal, we enjoyed a delicious cannoli. My dad is from New York so we have quite a bit of experience with Little Italy in New York and this just reminded us of that wonderful experience. We will definitely be coming back! Amazing service by Fabrizio and amazing food.

Yesterday I ordered Penne Arrbbaiata which was delicious! This is an authentic Italian restaurant! Which I have so much appreciation for! We loved it so much that we went back again this evening for dinner! Tonight I ordered the Provelone Calzone. It was by far the best Calzone I have ever had the pleasure of tasting!! The amazing man who creates these amazing dishes is incredible! Both funny and charming! The staff (although very busy) are fantastic! They express teamwork and appreciation for each that makes this up beat busy place, relaxing! I definitely recommend you check this place out!! You will be happy you did!!

Great food. Best cioppino. Awesome service. And if you don't see it on the menu, just ask. My daughter asked for a custom made pesto pizza with cheese and mushrooms. Waitress Paula asked pizza maker Gary and he said yes. Gary's creation was perfect! This is our 2nd visit in just 3 days. Wish we had time to go back one more time. And don't forget happy hour which includes beverage and food discounts.

We had a great lunch here while on vacation. We were slow to be served at first, but then we got our bread and water and shortly after our server came over and we were able to order. We were given more bread and dipping sauce while waiting for our food. Our glasses were full the whole time, as we were given bottles to refill as needed. The food was absolutely delicious and had large proportions. The service was wonderful. They seemed short staffed, but they worked as a team to make sure everyone was taken care of. We highly recommend.

Mushroom ravioli is greatness! Love the paintings in the back patio. Ask for Alex as a waiter if you can. He is from Rome and makes you feel like you are having a mealnwith an Italian family. We can't say enogh nice things about our experience here.

Had the Christmas special filetto at the server's suggestion, and I was not disappointed. It was a generous cut of meat covered with fresh market mushrooms. The gorgonzola sauce was perfectly seasoned and added so much flavor to the steak. All servings were sizeable and all the food ordered was super tasty. The only star deducted was for ambiance, on account that we were seated inside the restaurant but kept getting hit with the smell of smoke from people having a cigarette outside. To be fair the restaurant isn't to be held responsible for this, and I only mention this for those who may be sensitive to the smell. All in all, a great place to have a family meal!

My wife and I recently dined at Sorrento Ristorante and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The setting was perfect, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. But it was the food that truly stole the show. I ordered the Penne Pollo e Funghi and my wife had the Ravioli Burrata, and both dishes were fabulous. My Penne Pollo e Funghi was a delightful combination of tender chicken, earthy mushrooms, and al dente penne pasta, all tossed in a rich and flavorful cream sauce. The dish was perfectly balanced and every bite was a true delight. The chicken was cooked to perfection, the mushrooms were tender and flavorful, and the cream sauce was rich and decadent without being too heavy. It was a pasta dish that truly hit all the right notes. My wife's Ravioli Burrata was equally impressive. The ravioli were stuffed with creamy burrata cheese and served in a luscious tomato sauce that had just the right amount of tanginess. The dish was beautifully executed and every element was perfectly cooked. The ravioli were tender and flavorful, and the sauce was just the right consistency to coat each bite of pasta. Overall, we would highly recommend Sorrento Ristorante to anyone looking for excellent Italian cuisine in a beautiful setting. The Penne Pollo e Funghi and Ravioli Burrata were both fabulous and a definite must-try. The service was also exceptional, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff that made us feel truly welcome. We can't wait to come back and try more of their menu offerings!

Food was phenomenal! We had a large group of about 25 people on a Sunday night. Vibes were good, place was nice. They did forget to make one of the peoples’ orders, and had shut down their kitchen by then. They “compensated” by providing 3 desserts (for a group of 25). Overall, a great place, just wish they could have handled the forgotten food a bit better!

A fun way to experience Little Italy in San Diego. To walk up and down India St and see the vibrant neighbour, and to stop and be welcomed with such warmth and hospitality. This is exactly what Sorrento Ristorante did. The welcome from the Chef’s wife at the door and inviting us in really had such a warm charm. The food was great and portions were perfect!

Very friendly staff, definitely could tell they were trying their best! Our server was so nice and kept apologizing for having to go ask questions, he was new, but he was attentive and cared to ensure everything was right, which I appreciated. Tuna carpaccio special was good, but small. Lasagna was excellent, such a rich flavorful tomato sauce and not overly cheesy, definitely felt like nonna’s recipe. 100% I recommend the lasagna! Risotto was also excellent, creamy without being heavy. The artichoke antipasti (carciofi e patatie) was just ok, not sure I would get that one dish again but I would definite come back for the ambiance and other delicious dishes. The online menu is not exactly the same as current, and the wine list in house is not totally up to date so make sure to ask about what they have currently.

We stumbled across this place after we were tired of walking from our hotel to find dinner. We had a large group and a lot of the restaurants in San Diego are tiny! This place had a lot of room and we were all able to sit together (6 plus a baby). The server was extremely nice and helpful! We all loved our food and drinks. We also enjoyed sitting near the kitchen and smelling all the food. We will definitely be back!

Party of two. We started with the Calamari Fritta. Besides the Calamari, the dish also has lightly breaded zucchini, squash, and shrimp. Very tasty. I ordered the Sea Bass special and my husband had a Ribeye steak. Both of our meals were very satisfying. They have lots of outdoor seating but we choose to sit inside. Staff very friendly. Located in Little Italy Downtown San Diego. Would recommend.

This is the second time I visit here and the two times I've had a world class experience with the food. At the heart of Little Italy this place has truly Italian food. I've tried the eggplant parmigiana, that's the best one I've had. From 5 different places where I've had eggplant parmigiana this one went to the top. This time I had Bruschetta for entrance and they are the best I've tried ever and is a usual plate that I had at an Italian restaurant. Then I had the Octopus salad that is superior, the mixed flavours were out of the world! A festivity in my mouth! I really enjoyed it. For dessert we had the ricotta chocolate tart, that it was really good. The texture of the ricotta really surprised me. I was expecting something like the marzipan for the looking but it was some creamin' but not that much, the flavour super balanced. I will visit this place over an over. Definitely is now one of my favourites here at Little Italy. Highly recommend.

Good food. The red sauce is fresh. I had the short rib ganache. It was good. Husband had chicken Marsala. They have off menu kids spaghetti or noodles in a butter sauce. Wine list is decent. If you expect to see your waiter, more than twice, you’re gonna be disappointed.

Very delicious ciopinno packed with seafood in a savory tomato broth that was light and complimentary to the seafood. This was my first time trying cioppino but would highly recommend this place based on the freshness and amount of seafood in addition to the taste. Staff was very friendly and the ambiance was cozy. The tiramisu was also good and a portion size was generous.

It's a great atmosphere, especially at night. We sat on the back patio. They had fairy lights hung up, and it was beautiful. The price is a little steap, but when they brought out our food, the portion sizes were huge! I would highly recommend for a date night or a night out.
