So this is only based on one visit but it was excellent. The atmosphere was great. A cool San Diego evening. I had the beer cheese burger with a fried egg (minus bacon). The burger is not ground beef but brisket and steak and the consistency is both denser but meatier and more tender. Very juicy and cooked perfect medium. The onion straws were crispy and not those canned ones. The beer cheese added a salty punch and was very flavorful. It made the burger. The fried egg was soft and combined with the beer cheese perfectly. Top it all off was the sever Coco who was adorable, friendly, and never left me waiting. The guy next to me gave them trouble by saying he didn't order his burger prepared medium (he did) and had asked for bacon (he didn't). The server repeated his order to him and that's what they gave him but they didn't argue when he complained. They simply remade the burger without issue and remained friendly and attentive. Nice job.
Wow, totally awesome ambiance. Totally nailed the Pacific Beach coastal decor. The food totally scored high marks along with the people. Great food, and server's along with an awesome beach dinning experience. We had a good friend visiting from China who lives in a beautiful coastal town there and she totally loved this place as well. Words cannot do this place justice. You just have to experience this place. We will be taking all our guests here . See you there. Surfs up and like this place it is over the top. Great Fish and Chip's. See the comment to see the Fish and Chip's teaming with the three selections of fries.
We ended up here because the Shore House was a mad disaster, understaffed and filthy. We bailed that place after 30 minutes when no one came to take our order. SO glad we ended up at the PB Alehouse. Our waitress was super fun and nice. The beer was good and our Mahi tacos with pineapple/papaya salsa were amazing. I would recommend my friends to this place and we will come back.
Went in on a Sunday with our kids, we sat on the roof top our server was so nice and attentive. Our food was delivered timely, hot and fresh. The beer selection is great and served cold. We will definitely be back.
Absolutely love this place! I've been coming here for about 6 years, and my only complaint is that they got rid of the short rib hash from the menu. Excellent food, service, and atmosphere all around though.
Any place that plays the Hawkeye games is a good place in my book. Little pricey on their Busch Light special, but I guess you have to pay up for a premium beer like that. ($12 for a 30rack at Walmart, $18 for 6 cans here) Great atmosphere though. Go Hawks!
Such a great place to hangout! The staff is the best and so are the customers! Friendly and funny!
We loved the roof top patio, shrimp ceviche, shrimp and chip, meat and cheese board and coctails were also delicious. Also service was great!
Great place to chill and watch the sunset. Server was a bit condescending as he thought he knew a lot about beer but actually really didn't know much. I'm a master brewer and a brewery owner so I take offense to that when they don't know what they're talking about and they assume that all their customers don't know what they're talking about. That's why the four stars instead of the five. Apparently they have some connection to a special pickle maker and if you get the fried pickles or any burger with pickles on it, it's absolutely fantastic. Definitely overpriced for what it is though.
Great food, great beer, great service.
Had the BBQ burger and 858 Blonde beer. Really nice combo.
Fish n chips is well portioned and delicious.
Open air rooftop bar has great atmosphere and just the right amount of shade.
Really impressed and enjoyed thank you.
Ale House food was delicious!! We sat on the top with a view of the ocean as we enjoyed drinks and dinner. Highly recommend. Everyone enjoyed a different meal and they all turned out fantastic!
Went as a family at 3pm for late lunch. Waitstaff was super friendly. The calamari was soooooo tender I loved it. I got the Turkey club and it was super good. Everyone in our family enjoyed their food. Would eat here again next time we are in PB
"π Must-Visit Gem in Pacific Beach - Pacific Beach AleHouse π
Last weekend, my family and I had the pleasure of dining at Pacific Beach AleHouse in San Diego, and it was nothing short of remarkable. After a previous disappointing dining experience at another upscale restaurant in the area, we approached AleHouse with a mix of hope and hesitation. We wanted our last meal in San Diego to be memorable for all the right reasons - and it truly was!
From the moment we sat down, the exceptional service was evident. Our waiter was the epitome of attentiveness, making us feel both welcomed and valued. The speed at which we received our drinks - within just 5 minutes of sitting down - set a fantastic tone for the evening.
Now, let's talk about the food - an absolute culinary delight! Our group of six ordered seven different entrees along with an appetizer, and each dish was a hit. The flavors were spot-on, the presentation impeccable, and the quality of the ingredients shone through in every bite. It's rare to find a place where every item on the menu is consistently excellent, but Pacific Beach AleHouse pulled it off brilliantly.
In summary, if you're in San Diego and looking for a dining experience that combines superb service with outstanding cuisine, look no further than Pacific Beach AleHouse. It's not just a meal; it's an experience that will leave you planning your next visit before you've even left your table. Highly recommended!
It was so good we went twice in a day! Amazing service from Sammi who served us at lunch, food was brilliant (tacos, flatbreads and burger), and the beers were cold! Great spot just off pacific beach.
Went back for afternoon beers, served by Brad who was equally awesome!
We ate here on a Saturday morning before the restaurant officially opened as the restaurant hosts the local Iowa Hawkeyes fan club during football games. We were in town from Wisconsin attending a holiday basketball tournament involving Iowa, so the place was quite busy. Their limited staff was quite friendly even though they were quite busy. Lots of televisions made it easy to watch the game. Our group even had a DJ who played good music over a decent sound system during commercials. Our food was excellent. We had a large Bavarian Pretzel, some Buffalo Wings, and a very tasty Italian Flatbread, which were all excellent. I was the designated driver, so I only had a single Red Ale (but was good enough that I would have had more). The nearby beach was also an attraction. Parking can be an issue. Other guests were also quite friendly. Iowa ended up winning on a last second field goal, making this a great day!! I would definitely come back if I'm in town again.
Pacific Beach AleHouse in San Diego is the ultimate beachside haven! Situated close to the beach, it offers a fantastic view while enjoying their strong drinks. This is a very nice spot right off the beach. Had some great happy hour food and drinks. The beer was awesome as well. The service was excellent. The rooftop has good views, including the sunset, as well as heaters that kept away the chill of the night.
Went to the rooftop. (Lots of stairs - might be an elevator) Great views of Pacific Ocean! Relaxing with quiet music. We were there for happy hour 3-5pm and ordered off the happy hour menu. My drink was still $10 but the food was well priced. I had the pesto flatbread pizza. It was OK- a little dry. The wings were OK too. Also a little dry ( slightly overcooked). Good service and friendly waiter. I didnβt see parking here and we were lucky enough to get free 2hr street parking. I would go again for the view and a drink
