We came down to escape the heat and stayed at this property. Initially we were hesitant to make a reservation at Tidal. The negative reviews were a concern. Well fear not, our experience was 5 star in all areas.
We had a reservation at 6:15 and were promptly seated by the friendly hostess. We chose the patio with seating facing the bay. Our server Melissa ( highly recommend) greeted us with genuine smiles and warmth. Again, nothing like we read in previous reviews. Ordered our drinks and promptly received. We weren't in a rush to order our Donner. Melissa was fine with it even on a Friday night. When we did order she was knowledgeable on the entire menu. She even went as far to ask the chef if he would give my octopus a quick char on the grill. Most chefs would have refused. This chef happily obliged and we thanked him in the way out. His menu selection is excellent.
Every area we interacted with was outstanding. Our entrees were the above mentioned octopus and Pacific Sea Bass with mushroom risotto. Both entrees had such flavor and the presentation was excellent. This restaurant is a must stop whether you stay at the Paradise Point Resort or visiting San Diego. Melissa, thanks for your attentive and enthusiastic service, Chef, thanks for obliging the char on the octopus. Lastly Teddy the manager on duty thanks for stopping over the table so we could express our appreciation. Next trip down we will come again.
Excellent recommendations, food and service by Julia and Aaron’s inventive and superb cocktails were amazing. As a Texan, it pains me to say one of the best margaritas I had (Jalapeno margarita) was in Cali. My dinner entree (salmon) in terms of taste and presentation was on par with top restaurants in Atlanta. Also, the lemon cake was divine. This was by far my favorite spot in Paradise Point. If I lived in San Diego, I would love hanging out here for the food and drinks at least 2-3x a week.
Enjoyed Oktoberfest here and was extremely happy with the setup and food. It was $80 per person with a set menu to include steins when you dined in that you get to keep. Really amazed at the vibes and food.
Tidal is a restaurant that's only.open during certain days, but has a rotating menu by day and time. They have amazing portion sizes and the price is great as well. Flavor is there, at all aspects. The staff is really friendly and helpful with recommendations, and their seating outside has great views of the water. They have heaters on at night to keep you warm as well. Would highly recommend as a great date spot. Brunch is the best for sure, but don't miss out on Saturday nights as it's Pit Boss night, and their brisket disintegrates by the touch of your fork.
The setting is great along with the food and service. We were there celebrating our anniversary. The waiter really made a point to make it a special experience for us. Seated with a great view of the bay and amazing sunset. Short ribs & salmon wash delish.
We live in SD and went for Valentines Day, it was great. The cocktails were very special and we were impressed. Our waitress was a delight and the food was delicious. We decided to come back and sit on the patio for sunset soon, can’t wait to return!
The setting is stunning, being right on the water. The service is great and there was also live guitar music which made for a relaxing, romantic ambience.
The menu changes each day, proposing different themes, with a fixed starter and dessert. Then there are 4 mains to choose from. Overall the food was ok. My pork pasta was a little over cooked. But a positive experience overall.
Stunning...service was great, friendly and inviting. Restaurant has a beautiful ombiance and the water views were spectacular. Cocktails were yummy and food delicious. Would highly recommend!
Amazing dining experience!
The cheeses plate was phenomenal. Coconut Thai soup was out of this world. The two together was even better. I’m not a huge fan of undercooked fish but my wife loves it and our plates were basically licked clean! Oh and I’m not a cheesecake person, but I was in heaven with the cheesecake here. We came when the sun was setting and it was the perfect way to spend the last night of my wife’s 20s. Douglass our waiter, was a big part of making our night amazing. Highly recommend if you are looking for a memorable food experience and you don’t mind spending a bit more (totally worth it).
There is nice place you can come with family and you can try every dishes every day has different dishes absolutely try. They have heaters on at night to keep you warm as well. Would highly recommend as a great date spot. Brunch is the best for sure, but don't miss out on Saturday nights as it's Pit Boss night, and their brisket disintegrates by the touch of your fork.
What a great experience. This without question ranks as one of the best meals my son and I have ever had. We forgot to get photos of the appetizers we had, but started our dinner with the grilled octopus, Caesar salad and hamachi poke. This was my 11 year olds first experience with octopus and it was his favorite app. While mine ended up being the poke. All three appetizers were very well prepared and unbelievably fresh. For entrees my son chose the halibut over the salmon (this is quite rare for him as he defaults to salmon) and I ordered the beef cheeks. My son ate nearly his entire fillet of halibut claiming he had been converted from salmon and making it clear that he thought it was the best piece of seafood he had ever had. I ordered the beef cheeks and have to admit they were far and away the best I have ever had. They were extremely tender and flavorful with a deep richness to them. A richness so deep that it had to be cut with the provided pickled onions which I found to be the perfect compliment. That being said, we saved room for dessert. My son choose the nights special which was a bread pudding with blueberries and a banana gelato. And I chose the chocolate cake with guava cream cheese frosting. My son enjoyed his while we both really liked mine. In summary, Tidal restaurant very much has it together. The chef should be highly commended for the menu. The service was outstanding. Oh...and the view. We sat on the patio with a beach front ocean view that is unmatched and unlike any other I have experienced. This place is worthy of more than a 5 star rating and was without question one of the best experiences and meals we have ever had.
The food was great and so was the view! The service was super nice, Julia was super helpful and friendly. Drinks are a bit pricey and it's hard to actually find the place but overall it was awesome, we will definitely come again!
Gorgeous patio with a wonderful bay view!
This is a great place to visit for breakfast or early dinner...the ambience is fantastic!
Food is good I really love what I ordered...we were there for a Sunday Brunch! Was not crowded maybe the Service is not the greatest but prices are reasonable for the spectacular view...after eating you can walk around and enjoy the magnificent garden...parking is free and it's located inside the hotel
Great dinner. We split the 40 oz! tomahawk for the table and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. And the dogs loved the bones as well. We also had scallops which were awesome. The striped seabass was also good as was the octopus. Wait staff was attentive and friendly, although not too many people in the restaurant (Tuesday night).
Stopped here for Sunday brunch. Everything at the table was cooked perfectly. Service was great too, enough touches but not too much.
