Old Town Mexican Cafe - San Diego - Photo album

The chops are thick but not taste the salsa is good. Good hot coffee, good servings, quick service and hand made tortillas. Good spot for breakfasts. Visit this place if your at old town San Diego
They were making tortillas from scratch and our tacos tasted good. The kids also had a great time choosing from the kids menu. I wouldn't say it's the best mexican I have had but it was decent for the area.
We got the carnitas plate and the rolled potato rolls. The food was pretty solid but there was no hot sauce and it wasn't super flavorful. The tortillas, however, is phenomenal. Sooo fresh and delicious.
Had a fabulous spicy margarita while we waited for a table. Server made excellent recommendations, & even advised us when he thought we would be ordering too much food. Enjoyed the chips & salsa as well. Definitely recommend & would love to try breakfast, too.
Amazing food! Excellent service. It's one of my favorite restaurants. I love it. ❤️ Highly recommended.
It’s an alright place to eat. The staff were super friendly and helpful. A joyful wait staff during the lunch hour we visited. The food was good. The chips are not too my liking, but they were crisp. Also, they were not greasy, but they seemed factory made, which is not of the highest grade at a
Great food with homemade tortillas. A bit loud due to crowds at the bar but the food is the best
The food was amazing here!! To start, the chips and salsa were fantastic! The salsa was almost my favorite part of the meal. Then, we ordered two virgin strawberry daiquiris, which were delicious. They came with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry on top, as well as whipped cream. For food, we
I got the Minero plate! Absolutely amazing. We literally went at the perfect time in the morning. Everyone was helping us, everything came in a timely manner, and the food was an explosion of flavors. I highly recommend this for a great experience. Attached should be photos of the menu as well as my
This place is amazing for Mexican food in San Diego, CA. It has that cafe in California vibe that is amazing, the waiter was nice to us and he deserved a tip, the food was full of flavor and I loved the large fluffy made in house flour tortillas, I would love to visit again! Totally recommend as bes
You could tell how great a Mexican restaurant is by the authenticity of the tortillas that they make by hand! The food is delicious great seasonings and spices! Chips and salsa, authentic, homemade chips! I had to Krispy Carnitas off the hook. Delicious!
This could be my favorite Mexican restaurant in all of California. I love their tacos where they put ground beef in and then toothpicks and then deep fry them to make them crispy. Their enchilada sauce is the most authentic. I’ve tasted in the states. The Mezcal margarita was fantastic and ask for t
A quick walk from the hotel got us to Old Town Mexican cafe and it definitely was worth the walk in a bit of hot sun out here in San Diego. If we were to wait for a seat it would have been a good 10-15 minutes and instead we grabbed a couple of stools at the bar. The tender/server at the bar was pr
I had the Enchiladas suizas. Meal was great. I did have thee most delicious homemade flour tortillas before dinner.....I almost wanted all tortillas forget the meal they are that good!! Stop by the bar if you get a chance great bar staff and an assortment of tequilas to try.
So this was my 1st time in San Diego so I was out exploring I wanted some good Mexican breakfast with a coffee so I stumbled into old town which I absolutely loved and saw old town Mexican cafe decided to pull in and give it to try … needless to say I ate there everyday I was there … absolutely love
Short but sweet...always busy, but there's a reason, so be patient. It's worth the wait. I wanted street tacos (the 5 platter), and honestly, I'm still angry. With me. Because I only ordered two of them as Adobada...shame on me because those were the two best tacos this year! Enjoy!
The Molcajete Never disappoints. Always my go to and the Large one is more than plenty for 2 people. I highly recommend. With fresh flour tortillas a must try if you haven't already.
