BEST SERVICE!
Kimmy provided excellent service and made sure I was satisfied with my entree. Great recommendation Kimmy! The French Pot Roast was excellent!
Most probably the best breakfast/brunch place in the town. Authentic French cuisine is available. The croissant was lighter than air with a welcoming whiff of butter on it. Had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and never had tasted anything better than that. The ambience is perfect, and the menu list even better with a huge variety of eggs and pancakes and mimosas served and waited upon by the most warm staff who aim that you never leave the place dissatisfied. A must visit.
Best bread pudding in San Diego! And my friend's favorite place since he moved here from Indiana 3 months ago. Can't go wrong with breakfast, lunch, or dinner!
Our Saturday morning breakfast was perfectly prepared and our waiter was attentive to our every need. I especially enjoyed the quiche Lorraine. My daughter ordered an omelet with a request for hot sauce, which our waiter provided expeditiously. Their muffins are huge and every bite is heavenly.
I used to go to Mimi's (not this particular location) a lot as a kid so it was really nostalgic. I went for breakfast, which I never had here before. It was good, but the healthy options were lacking.
Service was a little slow but that's probably because we came on a Sunday morning. The food was excellent however. I had the Diner style corn beef hash and eggs for the first time and it was delicious.
Just ok. Seems like the food quality has gone downhill in recent years. About 8 years ago, we ate at a new Mimi's that was opened in Tampa at least twice a week. Food was great, fresh and huge portion sizes. Service was always good. At this location, service was subpar...very slow and the food, eh...lot's to choose from on the menu, so is a good place for an ever-so-often meal out. Beats fast food, but not what I expect at a "nice" sit-down restaurant.
Meatload. Hard to find good meatloaf......this place has it. I usually do take out or call the order in and its always great.
I dont go there alot but when I do, its the meatloaf I get :)

Best Corn Chowder. I always the corn chowder every time I go there. They also have a petit portion menu for people who want to eat lighter.

Great food their bread and bran muffins are awesome mediteranean chicken is a good treat
We often dined at Mimi's when it was closer. We were craving the delicious French Pot Roast, so decided to make the drive to Mission Valley.
We were seated quickly, but service lagged from there. It took a bit to get our water and drinks. The iced tea came and it was stale and the coffee was delayed to make a new pot. Our order was placed and while the restaurant was fairly empty, it took a while for the food to come out. Our appetizer came with the meal. The brussel sprouts were just okay and when the plate was delivered, the portion size was quite small in comparison to the plate.
The French Pot Roast has always been a hearty serving. We were disappointed in the lack of potatoes accompanying the roast. The meat chunks were particularly fatty, many pieces were set aside, too difficult to chew through. We did not receive refills on our beverages although they were requested. We may try this location again in the future to ease our craving, hopefully we just visited on a bad day.
We enjoy having breakfast at Mimi's when we have a chance. It's a nice place and they have a good breakfast menu. As mentioned in the reviews, the Muffins are Awesome!. Our favorite is the Blueberry muffins. The service is also good. Our server today was Cheyenne and she was friendly and courteous. đđ
You canât go wrong with Mimiâs Cafe. The consistency in the product stays true every time.
This location is always clean and the service is top notch. There are plenty of adjacent rooms, which really maximizes seating, even allowing for multiple large parties at the same time.
Blueberry Muffin is a must when you are at Mimiâs; a top recommendation. Steak & Eggs are filling and the simple eggs fit nicely with any breakfast; donât forget the roasted potatoes that are crispy and tender equally.
Parking can be a bit difficult, at the lot is shared and smaller. However, that being the worst problem, you are in for a good meal and great location central to Mission Valley and the rest of San Diego.
I love Mimiâs!!!! I was trying to find a good sit down place to have a coffee with a friend, found this and decided to give it a shot! The waiter was sooo nice! The food came right away and was delicious!!!! They even gave me a little dessert because we were celebrating my birthday! I love this place! Definitely coming back!
Mimi's Cafe has been around for decades. I have not eaten at Mimi's in a long time but was delighted by my eating experience!
The selection at Mimi's has been impressive, and their current menu has pages of options with a lot of their comfort favorites like chicken pot pie, the turkey dinner, and the pot roast dinner.
My waiter was kind, professional, and served us well.
The atmosphere in the restaurant is almost identical to what it has been for over 20 years, which made the restaurant familiar and homey.
Regarding the food:
The spinach artichoke dip and bread were rich, creamy, and had a great balance of vegetables and cheese.
The Corn Chowder was incredible; a touch of sweet, a touch of creamy, a touch of herb seasoning, and a must try, which it has been for decades at Mimi's.
Then there was the crÚme brûlée. The crÚme brûlée was out of this world, I think the CrÚme brûlée at Mimi's is one of the best in San Diego, CA.
To be determined:
I bought some Carrot- Raisin Muffins and some Pumpkin Spice Muffins to bring home.
In short!
If you have never been to Mimi's or you have not been in a while, it's worth trying.
Just a shout out to this location and their team. Lindsay helped me with my feast-to-go. Their catering options are easy to order. I was in last week for breakfast, my first time to this location, and the wait staff was great, breakfast quiche was delicious, and they told me about the Christmas feast to order, which I did and picked up today.
Turkey and ham, all sides, 2 pies, saving a ton of time and prep this season when we are all working long hours. So we can spend more time enjoying friends and family instead of cooking this year. Just a thank you to this location for this gift to us, and we will be back again soon.
P.S. Love the muffins to go too!
I do not recommend the margarita, it was too sweet and it had a bitter after taste. However they did offer me something else in it's place, a Cabernet and that was very good. The French onion soup was delicious as well as the pot roast. The service was fast and friendly.
Haven't been here in years and popped in for lunch with my cousin. We were greeted warmly by the host and seated right away, our waiter (Fernando) was right behind us and took our drink orders right away then gave us time to review the menu.
Right now they have a plethora of seasonal pumpkin items to choose from, from muffins to drinks(adult & family friendly).
We started with the Carrot Raisin Nut Madeline's, which were still warm, surprisingly moist, perfectly chewy, and well flavored...a little butter and -wow! I went with the Savory Breakfast Bowl, which came out just like the picture! The avocado, cherry tomatoes, and spinach were very fresh, perfectly ripe, and nicely prepared, situated on just the right amount of quinoa & brown rice, topped with 2 poached eggs. They offered hot sauce and brought out several options! Love that. A mix of Tapatio & Cholula on the eggs and man was it delicious!
My cousin went with the 1/2 soup & sandwich (Chicken Ciabatta & French Onion) which also came with a small side of seasoned fries, the chicken was juicy, well flavored on top of a soft inner crisp outer ciabatta bread; the soup was mouth watering-slightly creamy with tender strips of onions, topped with sourdough bread covered in a melty provolone.
We were checked on several times, refills were very quick, Fernando was fun, sweet, interesting, and on top of all his tables (not just us).
Our waitress is by far the least attentive and professional waitress I have experienced in a very long time, not a good attitude, when ordering, we hesitated literally for 2 seconds and she turned and walked away, despite we called her as she was walking away, she ignored us and went to do something else, very uncomfortable situation, when she finally returned to take our order, she had a sarcastic smile on her face, implying that we better be ready to order, and we did order as fast and accurate as we could (or she might punish us again for not responding IMMEDIATELY), obviously the order taking was very cold and not nice, after receiving our food (by a very nice food runner, not the waitress) I was hunting the waitress to request additional meal items (like more coffee) , again she disappeared, when she finally decided to stop by our table, we inquire about a Christmas meal package that was advertised on a chalk board on the wall, she (without asking or making sure with her manager or similar) immediately responded that the Christmas meal package (that was clearly advertised on the wall) was not available and it need it to be ordered it with 1 week of anticipation, it did not made any sense to me as it was December 24th (in the morning) so why would they still have that offer on the wall, anyway, at that point we decided to seek for a manager which was extremely helpful and very nice, she immediately said, that the meal was available to order, so we did order it, at the time of paying our breakfast and Christmas bill, the waitress took and extremely unjustified amount of time to just bring the bill and another very long time time to collect payment, bottom line, we had a very unpleasant and uncomfortable experience (just with the waitress) other than that, the breakfast was excellent and the Christmas meal was even better.
I love Mimi's and specifically this location.
The staff is always super friendly and efficient, I've never had to wait to be seated and the food is always so delicious!
There's so many yummy options it's always so hard to choose! They have the best Lemon Cake too, hands down!
Highly recommend a visit!
Plenty of parking on site and nicely located near the mall and other shops.
